This was an awesome opening issue. I love that Remender went super light on dialogue, letting the story essentially tell itself through Araujo's brilliant artwork. You could sense the emotions and tension even though very little was actually being said. I'm very intrigued to see where this story will go, but this was an extremely solid start.

Remender is usually known for weaving the main character's inner thoughts through each issue in the form of journal entry-like narration. This mostly silent comic is a change from the norm for him, but gosh am I loving it. The art is so on point, and the story that Remender is crafting is suspenseful and mysterious. I love being dropped little hints of who our main character is and what his past is like without being spoon-fed everything. Another brilliant issue.

Brutal, tense, awesome. We're slowly getting more answers.

Man...the dude with the green car is creepy AF. What a great story this is so far. I'm fully engrossed.

This felt like an episode of Breaking Bad. So, so good.

Remender's use of silence throughout this series has been nothing short of masterful. After the most violent and action-packed issue of the series, we get the calmest and quietest of issues, and it works so dang well. Nothing much happens, but it's a much-deserved reprieve for Sonny and Xavier (even though we know it won't last), and it provides a meaningful opportunity for us to just take a break and enjoy their relationship. Araujo's art is brilliant here, as it has been all series.

A fast-paced, well-written time travel story with absolutely jaw-dropping artwork from the great Lee Bermejo. The level of detail in some of his panels was beyond comprehension... It was an incredible showcase for his amazing talents that reminded me a bit of Mike Huddleston's work on Decorum with his changing styles. Really enjoyed this start and looking forward to seeing the story continue to unfold and learning more about our main protagonist and antagonist.

Really, really cool premise. Two people locked in time together, neither one of them can kill the other but they are mortal adversaries, every time they kill another human being they get catapulted to a different time and place. The backstory was really helpful, my only gripe is that it took up the majority of the issue and now there's only one left. Hopefully Tomlin is able to tie everything up neatly in the final issue. Bermejo's art continues to be indescribably beautiful.

A bitter, tragic end to a story about the destructive nature of hate and revenge. Our two main characters embody humanity's inability to break the cycle of violence that has plagued our world since the dawn of time. War, conquest, slavery, racism...all symptoms of the human disease. It's a bleak perspective, but its one that I think the creators are hoping will wake people up so that they stop perpetuating this vicious circle and learn to live in peace with their fellow man. Hatred and revenge will only beget more of the same, and humanity as a whole will suffer for it. This comic was well written and stunningly illustrated. It's not gonna leave you feeling good, but you will be glad you read it.

This was a really good Tony-centric issue with incredible art, though it would probably resonate most with those who have been reading Iron Man's current run.

This was a pretty good Jean-centric one-shot with some fabulous art. Compliments the story nicely, even if it's not essential to it.

This was a good issue, Gillen writes these one-shots well. I enjoy the focus on sole characters and delving into their motivations and pasts, but unfortunately this one was brought down by sub-par art.

Unfortunately the art isn't very good, cause this is otherwise a solid tie-in.

This was bloody incredible. What an event. I think my favourite part was the Progenitor judging each individual panel by panel. Boy did Matt Murdock's ever get me right in the feels... Doom's was perfectly spot on, and Miles Morales' was absolutely delightful. Would've been cool to see more characters judged. Like maybe Moon Knight, I think they could've done something cool with him and his several identities.

This was actually a really good epilogue to the A.X.E. story. Tied things up nicely. Art wasn't amazing though.

Can we use this comment as a petition to change this website back to the way it was? This new design is beyond atrocious. The mobile version is especially difficult to navigate (and there's no search bar at the top). There also seems to be a problem with the average rating for series' where it's not calculating the actual average for all issues. For example, Gotham Central (which I'm currently reading) previously had an average user rating of 9.1 for the whole series, but it has since dropped down to a 6.9 for no discernible reason. And that series is not the only one affected. I don't know what happened, but this update is garbage, and that's not just a knee-jerk reaction to change. It legitimately sucks. Anyway, sign this comment if you agree. Or maybe you disagree, in which case...I'm happy you're happy.

Not really sure why this got the amount of hate it did. It wasn't the best thing I've ever read, and sure there was a notable lack of Ultron in a supposedly Ultron-centric story, but I thought it was perfectly fine, and I even thought the ending was quite good, albeit a little confusing in the last few pages. Overall, an entertaining read.

Story was okay, writing was decent, art was great. I'm a big fan Spurrier's but this wasn't his best. His script seemed a bit scattered, and the characters weren't very likeable.

Well jeez...this kicked things into a new gear. I agree with my fellow reviewer that Samantha is easily the most likeable of our three misfit teens and it's not even close. This was such a powerful issue, Spurrier did a fantastic job with Samantha's story here. Very well done. And Chris Wildgoose killed it with the art.

I would've rated this issue a half point or two lower, but holy smokes that ending...

Man...what started out just kinda meh turned into something surprisingly powerful. This wasn't a perfect series, I definitely had my problems with it, but Spurrier crafted a compelling story here. And I have to give major props to Chris Wildgoose who churned out some absolutely gorgeous art throughout this series.

This was unreal. Bleak, haunting, deeply unsettling... What a way to kick off a mini. The stakes could literally not be higher. Always a joy to see Hickman and Ribic collaborate. This should be fun.

My gosh this is quality stuff. I wish this series was at least twice as long. Hickman and Ribic have tapped into something special. Old Man Steve showing up with a whole group of people he couldn't leave behind was peak Cap, and Bruce's line "...if I did, I'd be a monster" was just perfection. This series is bleak AF, but it is so, so good.

Not quite as good as the first two, but still really, really good. This one was a little more action-focused and not as plot heavy. Dialogue was more sparse so it moved a little quicker. Of course Sinister would use the potential extinction of humans and mutants to further his own genetic aims; perfectly on brand for him. Cool to see Logan still alive and badass, and seeing Manifold pop up in yet another Hickman Marvel book is becoming a meme at this point.

Yes, it was a rushed finale. No doubt about that. This story deserved at least 3 additional issues to flesh things out more and tie them up properly. Hickman did an admirable job here, but it does leave you wanting more. Let's hope we get a follow up arc in the future, although that "The End" on the last page doesn't offer much hope for that. Overall, this was a surprisingly good crossover that I didn't know I needed but am glad we got. I'll always read anything Hickman and Ribic put out and they've got another winner on their hands with this one.

Solid start. James Stokoe's art is breathtakingly detailed. Hard not to stare at each panel for minutes. His writing is impressive too, which is nice to see.

Some of these stories just didn't go anywhere or have any meaning behind them. Or maybe they did and I just missed it, which is entirely possible, but I particularly disliked Iannucci's story, Rowell's story, and Anderson's story. Just found them boring and pointless. Favourite was easily Hickman's, and Falcone's and Slott's were enjoyable as well. Perhaps worth a read if you're a big Spidey fan, but in my opinion the character deserved better from this anthology tribute.

Dang...this is one of those comics that transcends the medium. A masterpiece.

Man, this series took a while, but it's finally grabbed me.

These last bunch of issues have been really good. I love the idea of the characters becoming aware of comics continuity and what happens to characters when they get written out of it, however my only qualm with this is that it would work just as well in any other character's story. There is nothing unique to Animal Man about it, and these past issues haven't really focused on Animal Man's powers whatsoever.

After several stellar issues, this one I thought was just okay.

Maybe I'll update my rating after the final issue, but I just don't really know what to make of this for now. It's intriguing, but I just have no idea where it's leading or what it means. Hopefully it all makes sense in the end.

Okay, so here are my thoughts. This was really cool. I really loved the commentary on the comic book medium and how writers get to decide things about the characters they write, but how nothing really matters because it can all be undone or re-written later by someone else (I would've complained about Animal Man getting his family back in the end and the story not actually having accomplished anything lasting for the character, but I see that that's basically Morrison's whole point). I loved how this was held up in contrast to real life and how it doesn't work like that for us. For us, death is permanent, and violence has real, lasting consequences. That was a really powerful, thought-provoking idea that was well-executed. I loved Morrison's introspection on his own writing tendencies; I thought that showed a refreshing level of self-awareness and was very entertaining to read. I guess my main gripe is one I mentioned a couple issues ago, which is that this whole fourth wall-breaking comic book commentary idea could have been written about any character, and there was nothing unique to Animal Man about it. We didn't even see him use his powers at all in the last several issues. Maybe that's part of the point too and I'm just not getting it, but I don't know... I just felt like it was a cool idea but it would have worked whether it was a Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, or even Detective Chimp comic. Animal Man was basically just a vessel to preach about animal rights until Morrison decided he wanted to comment on the creative process behind comic books. And that's totally fine, and I did enjoy it, but I think the fact that any other character could have been used to tell the ending story sorta takes a little bit away from it for me personally. Not a lot, but a little. In the end, I enjoyed this run, although it had it's ups and downs, it was clever, intriguing, and thought-provoking. I will be reading Morrison's Doom Patrol eventually, and honestly I'm excited because I think some of the ideas and weirdness in this series will work even better with that group. Side note: I don't know if Morrison was being intentionally controversial or if he truly believes that "a child with leukemia has no more intrinsic right to life than does a white lab rat", but God help him if he does believe it... What a horrifyingly misguided opinion that would be.

This was delightful. Reminded me a bit of Fraction's Hawkeye. Spencer makes Scott Lang incredibly endearing and easy to root for, and Rosanas' art suits the story perfectly. Also, Peggy is a giant B.

Didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first, but it was still an entertaining read. A couple of the jokes were kinda cringe, but a couple others almost made me spit out my drink. The panel of Tony Stark just saying "Sue." after seeing Scott's billboard was hysterical.

I liked it, but...the villains got away and Scott ended up leaving Cassie? This didn't really feel like a conclusion.

This was absolutely phenomenal in every way. Haunting, beautiful, tense, gripping... I don't even mind that Aquaman was barely in this issue. This was simply stunning work from Ram V, and I cannot understate how PERFECT Christian Ward's art is for this story. I knew from the moment I found out that he was drawing an Aquaman book that it would be a perfect fit, and I was not wrong. I was left gaping at the pages with the Kraken. Arguably Ward's best work. This book was an EASY 10/10.

A good start to this series! It was an interesting and even bold decision to switch from sci-fi to fantasy all while staying in the same world and story, but I think Lemire pulls it off well. Nguyen's art is as beautiful as ever, and the story is off to an intriguing start. Looking forward to going deeper into it.

This was really good. We get a cool, mysterious new character introduced, and there were some awesome moments throughout the issue.

Andy reacted WAY too casually to seeing his recently deceased wife crawl up out of the grave that he just buried her in.

I don't know man...I thought this ending was a little anti-climactic. It felt too rushed, and there were loose ends that weren't properly tied up. I also had a problem with the fact that Mila reacted to seeing Effie, but not Andy. Like...as far as she knew, Andy was dead too, but she only hugs her Mom? Seems weird. Nguyen's art was also at its weakest in this final issue unfortunately...it seemed hastily drawn and a lot rougher, less detailed. Bit of a disappointing end to the whole Descender saga if this is in fact the end. I had higher hopes for it. It was enjoyable, but it didn't wow me.

A good start. Slower pace, introducing us to the characters and setting the creepy, unsettling tone. Art was good, I loved subtle effect of the leaves falling outside of the bounds of the panels.

Interesting way to end an issue. This one did a good job of slowly building a sense of eeriness with the town and the townspeople. Nothing much has happened yet, but tension-building is key to any good horror story, so I'm not mad about it. Art is good, dialogue is good. Looking forward to things starting to go down.

I think Jerome Opeña is my favourite comic artist of them all. His work is just unlike any I've ever seen. It's absolutely stunning. Hickman's script is thrilling, engaging, and epic as always. Perfect start to what I fully believe will be an unforgettable run.

"You have to marvel at their dedication. The vigor with which they throw their lives away." One of the best lines I've ever read. Hickman is a god among men in the comic industry. And Yu's artwork is top notch as per Yusual.

Great art, didn't understand much of what was going on, but knowing Hickman, it will eventually make sense and I'll have an "Ohhhhh!" lightbulb moment later on when we see the ramifications of what happened here. Hickman has a way of not making a ton of sense but still keeping you fully engaged and entertained as hell.

WOW. What. An. Issue. Only Hickman can write an issue that mostly consists of two guys sitting at a table talking and make it insanely intense and engaging, while also seamlessly integrating two parallel series' plots, and dropping a massive revelation that has huge implications going forward AND going backward. Holy smokes. Gonna need a minute after that one. Okay I'm done, on to the next issue!

My mind is in such beautiful shambles. I love it.

There was definitely too much going on here, and while I did find the dialogue a bit busy, I didn't think it was as terrible as some people seemed to. Not on par with Remender's work on Uncanny Avengers, but far from the worst thing I've read. The art was quite good too. Overall, not a bad start.

Honestly...this issue was sick.

I thought Spider-Man was incredibly well-written in this issue; I actually laughed out loud at a couple lines. Dodson's art was a slight step down from Kubert and Yu's, but still pretty decent. I'm not sure I understand all the hate this event got. It's really not bad at all. May not be up to Remender's usual quality, but it's still enjoyable for what it is. Side note: Every cover for this series so far has been astonishingly good. Jim Cheung has been absolutely knocking it out of the park.

This wasn't a great conclusion. Art wasn't up to Jim Cheung's usual standard, the story was messy, and the dialogue wasn't great. Overall, I didn't mind this event, but it definitely left me wanting.

This was utterly phenomenal. Rick Remender was already one of my favourite writers as I went into this, so I knew it was going to be good, but I didn't expect it to be THIS good. I suppose it helped that two of my all-time favourite artists also teamed up to draw this gorgeous book. Seriously...Jerome Opeña and Pepe Larraz on the same project?! That's a comic book lover's wet dream. Remender delivered a powerful story about guilt, self-loathing, and what it means to be human, and it will go down as one of my favourite comics ever.

This was really good. Daniel Acuña has always been an artist whose work I've enjoyed, but he outdoes himself here and has, in my humble opinion, never been better. Zdarsky's script was well written, and the story is interesting. Dystopian superhero futures are nothing new, but this manages to feel fresh and exciting. Looking forward to more.

I absolutely loved everything about this issue. Art was flawless, and the writing was sensational. Spidey was legitimately hilarious here...I actually laughed out loud several times, which rarely ever happens when I'm reading. Phenomenal issue.

I enjoyed this quite a bit, far more than I thought I would if I'm honest. I didn't know what to expect from Marc Silvestri as a writer, but he actually did a formidable job here. And of course his art is spectacular, that was never in doubt. Overall, this was a great debut and I'm hungry for more.

This is very good. Still impressed with Silvestri's writing. We all knew his art would be great, but I've been pleasantly surprised by his ability as a writer.

This was the best issue yet in my opinion. Been very, very impressed with this series so far. Silvestri is proving as capable a writer as he is an artist.

Normally the issue where the villain has their big monologue explaining all their plans and motivations is cliché at best, but for me, this worked extremely well. Fantastic penultimate issue.

I enjoyed this series so much more than I expected to and was very pleasantly surprised with Silvestri's art and writing. The dialgue worked well, the story was engaging, and the dynamic between Joker and Batman was great. Also, I found the Joker genuinely funny which was honestly quite refreshing. Most writers lean towards either super cheesy or super morbid when it comes to Joker's humor, but I thought Silvestri found the sweet spot and made him genuinely hilarious at times. Overall, this was a fantastic read and it made me hopeful for a continuation at some point in the future. The villain being still out there at the end leaves that as a possibility, so fingers crossed!

Already off to a better start than Neo-Year, although I gotta say...Donovan Lumos is really freaking annoying. And I know that he's supposed to be, but I'm just getting really sick of seeing him. I think he's a dumb character and he brings the story down. Otherwise, this issue was interesting and featured some stellar art from Max Dunbar.

I love the Court of Owls so I was disappointed by this mediocre issue.

I actually thought this was quite good, and that last panel was awesome.

This was honestly a pretty solid ending. I'm not gonna lie, I'm still kinda fuzzy on what Constantine's whole thought process was...but it was a decently enjoyable read nonetheless. And the art in this final issue was outstanding...some really great pages in this one.

I don't know man...the art is great, but I'm just not jiving with this story the way I want to be. I really do want to like this, but I'm just having a hard time with it. Maybe it's because this is my first Batman Beyond comic, but I feel like that shouldn't matter. Hopefully it starts to become a little more coherent soon.

Art is good, but this issue is basically just long fight scene and a long monologue. 8/10 is probably generous.

Not a bad ending. This series didn't impress me as much as I was expecting considering the terrific art and the usually terrific writers. Hopefully Neo-Gothic is better.

Really cool intro. Art was great if you like Christian Ward's style, which thankfully I do. Writing was impressive for someone who makes their living as an artist. I love the Court of Owls so their appearance here was a big plus.

This was a really good follow-up story to Long Halloween. It follows a lot of the same narrative beats, but it's different enough in it's own right to warrant its existence. Loeb and Sale produce another gripping whodunnit story with a lot of powerful character moments, particularly for Batman, Catwoman, Alfred, Gordon, and Dick. Also, reading this after having watched The Penguin, it's clear this book was a huge inspiration for that show, which is cool since Long Halloween was one of the inspirations for The Batman. Overall this was a solid Batman tale and it's a nice continuation of the story for anyone who felt they needed more after Long Halloween.

This was a great start. Loeb and Sale are a terrific team and this looks like it will be another excellent read. I really like Loeb's voice for Batman.

Really well written. Loeb's script is sharp and grounded, and he's got a great voice for Batman and Comissioner Gordon in particular. Even Catwoman, who I find very few writers are able to write well, is a show-stealer in almost every scene she's in.

Wow, really great issue. The pages comparing Dick and Bruce's interactions with Alfred were especially powerful. Definitely made me tear up a bit.

Art was phenomenal. Stevan Subic will be an artist to keep an eye on. He's got a unique style that is really well suited to this type of story. The story itself was nothing groundbreaking, but it was well-written enough.

This issue was a masterclass in suspense building. The efforts of Zatanna, Langstrom, Constantine, and Alfred to cure Bruce via magic and science seems like it would be boring, but I found it thoroughly engaging. Barnes' writing was excellent throughout and perfectly set up a horrifyingly awesome ending. That page of werewolf Batman tearing out of the Batmobile was just... *chef's kiss*. Art was out of this world good. I enjoyed the first issue well enough, but I LOVED this one. Only qualm I have is that Bruce doesn't always act or talk exactly how I'd like (him calling Zatanna 'baby' seemed out of character), but for the most part it's not bad. Constantine and Alfred are particularly well written.

This was actually super disappointing... I LOVED last issue, but this one just did not have the same level of tension, suspense, and terror. Part of that was due to too many inappropriately-timed jokes at moments that should have been serious. Also, horny Constantine's literally NON-STOP thirsting over Zatanna grew extremely old extremely quickly. On top of these things, the art seemed to take a step down from the previous two issues. It appeared more rushed and less detailed. And story-wise, it didn't feel like the plot advanced at all. Bruce turned into a werewolf, fought another werewolf, then turned back into a human. The end. I'm significantly disappointed with the drop off in this issue. Hopefully the finale can save this mini from mediocrity. Oh, and another small thing...as great as Subic's art has been, does he have to sign his name on basically every other page...? It's gotten distracting.

I'm torn... I was really really enjoying this issue, but then found that the end of the battle between Bruce and Talbot was a little anti-climactic. I also thought Talbot's turn from tragic victim of a horrible curse to a proud murderous monster was a little quick. All it took was Voodoo Mama Juju telling him that there was no cure and he was actually a bad person? I just felt there should have been a more gradual transition to full-blown villainy. Those gripes aside, I thought the writing was back to being super solid (maybe Constantine just needed to get away from Zatanna for him to stop being such an insufferable horn-dog) and the art was incredible, though once again, I question Subic's apparent need to sign his name on virtually every other page. It's not like he blends it into the art either, it's like a watermark on the bottom of the page that sticks out like a sore thumb. Anyway, all in all this was a cool mini with some terrific art and an interesting concept that could've been slightly better executed, but was enjoyable for what it was.

This issue was absolutely amazing. King's script was on point, Marquez's art was breathtaking. The Help remains a brilliant and fascinating character. This series is what I wish King's Batman run was.

This was utterly spectacular. As someone who wasn't a fan of most of King's Batman run, I could not have been more pleasantly surprised that he crafted such a genuinely enthralling Batman story here. King made Riddler into a seriously terrifying villain and this is probably my new favourite Riddler story ever. That ending was just...so good. SO good. And Mitch Gerads' art was nothing short of perfect. Tom King haters are always gonna hate, and Batman purists who can't handle the slightest alteration from their perception of what the Dark Knight should be are gonna be thoroughly triggered by this story, but as for me, this will go down as one of my favourite Batman comics ever and another absolute masterpiece from King.

This wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I actually was really enjoying both the art and the writing for the first two thirds, but both seemed to fall off a bit towards the end. There were a few things that bugged me: first, Harvey Dent's Dad was supposed to be 88, but the way Fernandez drew him made him look like he was in his fifties. I know this isn't really a big deal in the grand scheme, but I couldn't help but be bothered by it. Second, Batman's plan for dealing with the balloons filled with toxic gas was to throw a batarang at the glass ceiling directly above all of said balloons? I mean...are you kidding Tamaki? That might have been the thing that took me out of this book the most. Thirdly, I didn't really get the "one bad day" vibes from this one. As a collection of stories that are supposed to be in the same vein as The Killing Joke, this one just didn't seem to fit. Tom King did such a good job with the Riddler story, crafting a brilliant homage to Alan Moore's classic work, but this just seemed like a generic, standalone Two-Face story that wasn't inspired by anything. Overall, I still somewhat enjoyed this story and found it mildly entertaining, but it was certainly not without its problems.

This was hot garbage. There was honestly so much wrong with this story it would take way too long to list it all. The only reason this story gets a half point is because the art wasn't completely horrendous. The writing was atrocious, when the story wasn't bland it was just plain ridiculous, and the art was lazy and just plain not good enough, which is disappointing because I've loved some of Camuncoli's other work, especially Green Valley. There's more I could say, but I wasted enough time reading this that I don't want to waste any more reviewing it.

Though it felt a tad rushed at times and the ending was a little anti-climactic, I genuinely enjoyed this one. Duggan did a good job here. I had a good laugh at a couple of the jokes, and the writing was generally pretty good with only a couple minor exceptions. Didn't quite understand the bit about Victor admitting that he likes his life now and that he likes Nora being on ice because it means they don't fight anymore. I liked Batman calling Victor out for keeping Nora alive for selfish reasons, but Victor is supposed to genuinely love Nora and be working to cure her, otherwise...if he likes his life so much now and loves having a wife who he doesn't have to fight with or worry about...why keep her alive? So that bit didn't really make sense. It felt like Duggan couldn't decide whether to do classic Mr. Freeze or change things up, so we got a kind of weird hybrid where he's a borderline abusive husband but also loves her but he's glad she's frozen but also he's trying to save her. Oh well. These problems didn't bug me nearly as much as the ridiculousness in John Ridley's terrible Penguin story. So this one gets a 9/10 for decent writing and absolutely STELLAR artwork from Matteo Scalera. Seriously, this was a gorgeously drawn book.

You know what, I actually really enjoyed this. Way more than I thought I would! Williamson put a clever spin on the "one bad day" idea; rather than focusing on the day that made Bane into a villain, he chose instead to turn the day Bane beat the Batman into the one bad day that ruined him thereafter. It was a surprisingly heartfelt redemption story for Bane, and I actually quite appreciated it. Howard Porter dished out some terrific art too, perhaps with the exception of that one fight scene with the microscopicly small panels. Overall, a great entry and one of my favourites of this series so far.

This was just okay. The art was good, but the writing was so-so. Honestly the story just felt kind of bland. Not a lot happened, not a ton of depth. Just a run-of-the-mill Catwoman tale with a little bit of personal backstory. I feel like there was an opportunity here to go deeper into Selina's motivations and drive behind who she is and what she does but it was mostly missed and we got a fairly surface-level story. Good art from McKelvie was the best part of this in my opinion.

This was absolutely stunning. Haunting, tragic, flat out brilliant. This story pulled me in little by little until I couldn't break free and it completely captivated me. This is without a doubt the best Clayface story I have ever read. Kelly and Lanzing did an amazing job of crafting an engrossing new tale that perfectly pays homage to the story that inspired this series of one-shots. I absolutely loved the way they utilized the auditon scene from the Killing Joke and how even some of the panels and art towards the end were reminiscent of that book's final scene. This is easily my second favourite of these One Bad Day stories, ranking VERY close behind King's Riddler. Oh, and Xermanico's art was absolutely PERFECT for this story. Bravo.

This was a pretty good story. Ra's Al Ghul isn't anywhere close to my favourite Batman villain, but this was a well-written story and I got a good amount of enjoyment out of it. Wasn't a big fan of how on-the-nose Taylor's climate change messaging was if I'm being honest...but that aside, I still enjoyed this for what it was. Ivan Reis brought his 'A' game with his art so it was a joy to look at too. Overall this was a decent entry in this line of stories and I'm happy to say that this whole One Bad Day project was, in my opinion, a big success and well worth anyone's time and money.

You know what...I didn't mind this at all. Yeah the writing wasn't amazing, yeah the story was fairly simple and nothing overly original, but sometimes you're just in the mood to not think too much and see Batman lay the smackdown on some low-level thugs with great art, and that's exactly what this was. It wasn't revolutionary and I probably won't read it a second time, but I am glad I read it once, and for what it was, I enjoyed it.

This was a great start. Tomlin is a very, very good writer in my opinion. The script and dialogue were crisp, believable, and engaging. Sorrentino's art was hauntingly beautiful as always and complimented the tone of the story wonderfully.

Man...this is written so incredibly well. Tomlin is a creator to keep an eye on. And Sorrentino's art is such a perfect fit for this story. I'm enjoying this far more than I expected to. Also, I guess Alfred is just a massive asshole in this lol interesting take.

I feel like this issue didn't quite live up to my expectations based on how much I loved the first two, but it was still very good overall.

I really want to like this more...but I'm finding Zdarsky's writing just kind of basic. The story isn't original, and I knew that going in, but I'm not finding much about the way it's being told to be all that interesting either. I don't know...it's good I guess, it's just nothing overly special.

Wanted to like this more, but it just didn't really do it for me.

Writing is sharp, and the story is engaging. I've never been a fan of Tim Sale's art, but I think it's grown on me to the point where I can finally really appreciate it. Also, I loved the moment where Batman went back to bring Thanksgiving dinner to Solomon Grundy.

The art was really great here, and Loeb's writing is sharp. We don't seem any closer to finding out who Holiday is, but it's so well done I find myself not caring too much.

Great story. Really enjoyed this. I get why it's considered one of the all-time greatest Batman comics.

Loved it. A very solid start. Love all the flashback panels with the different colouring. Great choice to use Barbara and Jason as the main side characters for this story, as they're the ones who have been left most damaged by the Joker. I'm into this mystery and excited to see where it goes. Jason Fabok provides some absolutely top knotch art too. Loved the callback to Killing Joke in the opening rainy panels.

Jason Fabok's art is outstanding in this series. I'm thoroughly enjoying this story, although I will say...I really dislike when Joker's jokes are this level of cheesy. Like, who would find that funny? Absolutely nobody. Part of the appeal of the Joker is that he is incredibly clever and witty and would actually be genuinely funny if he wasn't so sadistic and terrifying. Like in Killing Joke he even made Batman laugh, but the octopus joke in this issue was just...really bad. And then the Joe Chill joke was even worse. That's my only gripe, and granted it is a small one, but it's one that bugs me. Otherwise, great issue.

This issue had some pacing issues, but some cool moments as well. I enjoyed Bruce's way of getting inside the victim's mind and the way that was portrayed. Never been a huge fan of Hitch's art, but it's servicable here and at least not a distraction.

Wow, after a decent-but-nothing-to-write-home-about debut issue, I was floored by this second one. Dialogue was sharp, action was riveting, the story got more intriguing...I'm so impressed. Issues like this are why Warren Ellis is among my favourite writers. He doesn't always play up to his potential, but when he's on...he's really on. He was ON here. There were also a couple great Alfred/Bruce moments that I loved. Excellent issue all around; can't think of anything negative to say about it.

Really enjoyed this. It's nice to see the world's greatest detective do some actual detective work for a change. Ellis' dialogue is sharp again here, and I love the way he's writing Alfred.

Basically just one long fight scene. Good action, but light on plot. Also, some of these issues end in weird places...

Another issue where half of it is a big fight scene, but I didn't mind so much here because it was riveting. Ellis is great at choreographing fight scenes in comics. I also appreciate that he's one of the few writers who doesn't feel the need to make the people fighting talk to each other while throwing punches. I've always found it unrealistic when the fighters are constantly talking in long paragraphs during their bout; doesn't seem super practical. Also, the conversation between Batman and the warden at the beginning was great.

Another good issue. Pacing is weird, but writing is still solid. Hitch is doing a fine job on art, but honestly, his style isn't really well suited to action scenes, and when you have as many action scenes as this series does, that becomes really noticeable.

Listen...Batman walking silently through a crowded bus stop in broad daylight has to be one of the best things I've ever seen in all my years of reading comics. Haven't laughed that hard reading a comic in a long time. Even with Alfred and Bruce talking through what's going on, I'm still finding it a little hard to follow, but Ellis' sharp writing, an intriguing mystery, and sassy Alfred make up for it. I'm enjoying this series.

Decent issue. A somewhat anti-climactic reveal of the main villain, but still a few issues left so we'll see what else Ellis has in store.

I'm definifely enjoying this series, but I tell ya...these issues are ending really strangely. It almost feels like some issues are missing a page or two at the end, and we just hop out of the story abruptly. Some curious choices on Ellis' part, but the writing is still good. I just wish he had chosen a different artist to work with...Hitch's art is just so basic and uninteresting most of the time.

Ellis probably writes my favourite version of Alfred.

Not really sold on this villain or his motivations, and the art is just really bland in my opinion. Doesn't work well for all the action sequences, and there are a lot of action sequences.

This was a fine ending to a good-not-great series. The villain was meh, the mystery was okay (the way Bruce employed his detective skills to solve the mystery was more interesting than the mystery itself), the art was fairly bland, the pacing was strange, and the dialogue was great. The best part of this series was Bruce and Alfred's interactions. That combined with Batman's detective work makes this a worthwhile read in my opinion, though I expected more from Ellis. Honestly, I truly think a better artist would have made a HUGE difference here. Hitch's style was just not well suited for this story. The final issue probably sets the record for fewest lines of dialogue in a finale, but I thought it worked pretty well actually. The only problem with it was that I didn't really care about the villain at all...so his defeat felt somewhat anti-climactic. Otherwise, it was a pretty epic showdown. In the end, I'm glad I read this, but I probably won't return to it, and it doesn't land among Ellis' best works.

This was a really, really good start. The art was stellar, the writing was solid, and the story offered just the kind of mystery that tends to get me invested pretty quickly. Very good first issue.

Dang...I'm REALLY enjoying this. The older man escorting a young child trope is fairly cliché by now (The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, etc), but this somehow still feels fresh and interesting. Brombal has done an excellent job in the first two issues of making you care about Greyson and Wren, and his use of flashbacks and flashforwards to fill in the gaps of the story are extremely well done. I did not expect to like this as much as I do. Very well written, and the art is stunning.

Wow, the whole concept of the Behemoths being tethered to two souls, one a shepherd and the other a scourge...that is honestly probably the coolest thing they could've come up with. This comic is an absolute delight.

Until I read this issue, I was under the impression that this was a 5-issue mini-series. Seems like I was wrong...which I could not be more happy about. I desperately hope this series continues, cause I have absolutely loved it so far. This issue had some beautiful moments and absolutely gorgeous visuals. I'm fully invested in Greyson and Wren's story, and I can't wait to get more answers about this fascinating world.

Don't know much about Black Cat, just that she's Marvel's Catwoman and an occasional Spider-Man love interest. This was a decent first issue. A few genuinely funny moments. Thr art was oddly inconsistent, going from really great to really rough panel to panel. The writing was fine and the story was fine too. Also, I rarely ever comment on it, but I wasn't a huge fan of the lettering. The font choice was weird and my eyes didn’t really like reading it. Just use the standard comic font! If it ain't broke, y'know?

Black Cat breaking into the Sanctum Sanctorum is a really fun concept for a heist comic. And I'm glad to see Sonny is sticking around, I liked him in issue 1.

I wish the art was better, cause this is a pretty fun comic for the most part.

All I want to know is how in the world did Felicia conceal her Black Cat suit underneath her wedding dress...?

This wasn't good. Basically just a history of the thieves guild, but it makes no sense cause Odessa is telling it to the Black Fox who literally knows all about it already. Helpful for the reader, sure. But do it in a way that actually makes sense in the context of the story. Felicia was barely in this, and I don't find Odessa to be a compelling character whatsoever. Not to mention the art was at an all-time bad in this issue, or maybe it just seems way worse after getting some decent art in the previous one. Either way, weakest issue so far.

A really fun issue with great art (finally!). This issue is what I need this series to be. More of this and less of whatever last issue was.

As a Canadian, I couldn't help but notice fellow canucklehead Jed Mackay calling it "pop" instead of "soda". A funny slip, but a slip nonetheless. Art was good again here, but at the same time, good grief...how many different artists can they go through in 12 issues? Can we get a little bit of artistic consistency please? Also, Deadpool's line was spot-on and hilarious. And Felicia's redhead joke was great too. Mackay's jokes don't always land, but when they do they're brilliant.

Fun issue. Again, a few hilarious jokes, a few that didn't land. Overall entertaining and nice to look at though.

An alright issue overall, but an admittedly awesome ending.

Not sure why this is rated so low, I quite enjoyed it. Was nice to see Odessa get what was coming to her. She's barely been in this series but I can't help but find her insufferable.

This was a really good issue, which is a little surprising considering it's a tie-in for an event but also the first issue in a relaunched title. Odd choice, but I really liked it. Could've done without the eyeroll-inducing offhanded anti-America remarks (like, really? A career thief has a problem with "stolen" land?), but otherwise I love the high stakes and the darker tone. And it was really, really nice to have some good art for a change. Sidenote: those Pepe Larraz covers are stunning.

What a bonkers issue. This was a fun time.

These last few issues were about as good as you can hope for from tie-in issues. A sidequest story that actually seems to matter, a deep dive into the title character's values and motivations, and some solid art and dialogue.

I actually quite liked the storytelling method in this issue of having Felicia sitting down with Fox and recounting how she went about saving Manhattan. I thought that the Fox should've probably been a little more peeved or scared at losing his immortality since he was willing to condemn an entire city in order to get it. I also am not a fan of Felicia and Odessa getting together. It just doesn't feel right or make sense to me.

This was fine.

So Nick Fury was just waiting in a storage container for Black Cat to come and rob it...?

This series seems directionless at this point. I get that it might've been cancelled too soon, but the whole story seemed to shift after the stuff with the Black Fox. Now it seems like the story doesn't know what it wants to be.

I wasn't liking the direction in the last few issues, but this finale was actually rather good. I really loved Felicia gathering together an insane amount of power with the infinity stones just to use it for a seemingly mundane personal reason in saving her Mom who has cancer. It was a really clever twist that I didn't see coming but that really landed for me emotionally. While it was a tad rushed, I thought it wrapped things up as well as it could've given the circumstances.

Amazing! Jumped on board late but I'm finally seeing what all the hype is about. Jeff Lemire is on top of his game

Love the character focus and backstory. I'm gonna assume we'll get the same treatment with the other characters, which is really exciting, cause I already love all of them. Great issue
