Good lord was a first issue. This was the second Lemire book I've read (Swamp Thing: Green Hell #1 being the first) and he's set an outstanding standard for me going forward. This book doesn't need a lot of large-scale factors to get the job done. This is a fairly simple story at first glance, but Lemire's writing and Nguyen's art just make it so much more. I'm sure this duo could've written a great Batman & Robin story across three issues, but I really like the Robin-focused approach they've taken here and I can't wait to see where the story goes from here.

The midway point of this miniseries is another fantastic issue. The first meeting of Dick and the Titans is a fun adventure, but what packs the most punch is when Bruce makes Dick tell him all of the Titans' weaknesses. The sudden switch from Dick's natural and youthful outlook to Bruce's calculated and possibly cynical worldview is just insane. I almost didn't pick this up, but I'm glad I ended up doing so. This has been amazing so far and I'm sure the third and final issue will be incredible as well.

An absolutely incredible conclusion to an amazing three-issue miniseries. This is how you stick a landing. Lemire writes such a compelling story with Dick, and his writing of Bruce and Alfred only makes it better. I also appreciated Lemire having Croc be Robin's first big villain and I thought the history between them was a great way to pit them against each other here. Plus, Nguyen's art is absolutely fantastic and just fits in so well with this story. This is just an outstanding miniseries that I would definitely recommend to Robin fans, anyone looking to read a great origin story, and just any comic book fan in general. I don't think I can praise this book enough.

This started off kind of slow for me, but it really picked up as it continued. I wasn't incredibly into the first half of this issue with Orchis, but I feel as though it's laying groundwork for the rest of the miniseries. Once the attention turned to Charles, Erik, and Moira, it was so incredibly into this. What particularly stands out here is the ending, though. That was an insane way to end this issue and it definitely left me chomping at the bit for more.

I feel similar here to how I felt with the previous issue. I was super into the stuff with the mutants, and not as into the stuff with Orchis. Luckily for this issue, the mutant stuff was absolutely excellent. Had it not been for the Orchis stuff, this might have been a 10/10 for me. That said, I do feel as though the Orchis stuff is laying groundwork for something that will be paid off later. I just hope that that side of things gets more interesting. Either way, this was a lot of great stuff, particularly the Quiet Council meeting and Mystique making sure the vote went in her and Destiny's favor.

Once again, a fantastic issue. It's cool to see Silva and Hickman working together here after Powers of X, and Silva makes everything look really good. As for the story, of course it was good. I was little more interested in the Orchis stuff here, but this issue was stronger when focused on the mutants, in my opinion. The way Cypher's section ended was especially awesome. All things considered, though, every issue of this book has been full of awesome stuff. Hopefully the next issue sticks the landing.

Awesome stuff once more. Something I'm really glad about here was that it had both had the finality that should come with a miniseries and the end of a phase, while also leaving the potential for a lot more story to be told going forward. Everything here was just so damn good. I enjoyed the stuff with Orchis a lot more, though that's probably largely attributed to the fact that it was Karima and Nimrod fighting Charles and Erik. Either way, it was super intense and I enjoyed it. Additionally, what really made this issue for me was the conversation between Mystique, Destiny, and Moira. Hickman has the great ability of making characters talk with each other so engaging, and this was another example of that. Cypher showing up at the end was cool as well. All things considered, the landing was definitely stuck here and whatever comes next has a lot to live up to.

Super intriguing first issue. Love the style Horvath has, as well, particularly for this book. The storybook-esque art paired with a horror/thriller tone is a great tonal clash on paper, and Horvath does a great job of executing it here. Samantha’s first kill was already wild, especially with the follow-up of her cutting up her victim. However, the ending of this went in a place I did not expect, but it was great. The book was already a bit gruesome, but I didn’t think it would go quite to the level we got on the final page. Poor Martin. Very much looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Great issue. Even better than the first one, in my opinion. After the establishment of the world and the cast done in the first issue, this is able to really dive into things and really get the story going. Really great pacing, as well. A lot of tense moments throughout this one, especially, and I’m nowhere closer to figuring out who the (other) killer is.

Halfway through and I’m still loving this book. It’s just so well-crafted on multiple fronts. For his first book published, Horvath is killing it, no pun intended. Great pacing, great reveals/hints, and great art. Additionally, Otsman-Elhaou continues to be one of the best letterers in the game right now, if not the absolute best. I’m assuming he’s doing them, since he’s the letterer, but I really enjoy all of the subtle/small things he does, with one example being Melody’s text-bubble appearing behind the closet door when Samantha was hiding in there. Also, I know I mentioned reveals already, but that ending one with Nigel was really good, especially since I’ve had a feeling he might be the killer since the first issue. However, I fear it might be too early to reveal this information…unless the rest of the story is more about Samantha hunting Nigel down. Looks like I’ll have to keep reading.

(Immediate spoilers, by the way) Wasn't sure if Nigel was just going to be a fakeout, since the previous issue was only the halfway point...but, we've stuck with it, and I like it. Furthermore, this was my favorite issue thus far. Horvath has done a great job of creating intensity throughout the book thus far, and it's ramped up even higher here, particularly on the last few pages, in which Nigel crashes Samantha's world down right in front of her. Truly fantastic stuff all around here, in my opinion.

Not quite as great as the previous issue, but still fantastic. This definitely got a bit weird with the story, but I really enjoyed that. That said, I'm really hoping that the next issue manages to close things out strongly. This is, somehow, Horvath's first published comic, and I think an ending can, often, be the most difficult part of a story to really nail. I very much have faith, though, and I'm completely invested.

Yup. Horvath nailed the ending, as I hoped he would. Awesome stuff here, as I loved every single page of this. Samantha getting the better of Nigel by just being smarter and better at this than him was absolutely fantastic and I was just eating it up. Truly, truly, truly great series here. Need to see what else Horvath has cooking up in that brain of his, because I'd very much like more from him.

A truly awesome start to this series. This issue throws you right into the X-Men's new status quo, but it still manages to catch you up to speed without "formally" introducing multiple different concepts. It's also filled with good character moments. Scott's confrontation with the Fantastic Four, Reed especially, was a highlight for sure. Franklin being a mutant is definitely something that can make for an interesting storyline down the line. Additionally, Magneto was written masterfully here. The ending line of this issue was just so damn good. Loved this overall.

Yeah, this was really good. I mean, REALLY good. The first issue really set the stage for this new age for the X-Men, but this one delves deep into Moira, specifically, and it does so greatly. Not only does Larraz draw everything beautifully (something I failed to mention in my review of Issue #1), but Hickman instantly makes Moira one of the most intriguing mutant characters of this relaunch. I'm very interested to see why he held back on revealing anything about her sixth life, as well. Before I end this review, I have to mention Moira's interaction with Mystique and, especially, Destiny. That last line from Destiny was insane.

This was the weakest issue of the series thus far, in my opinion, which is also really saying something about the book as a whole when I'm still giving this issue as high of a rating as I am. The stuff focused on Cyclops was super cool, though I think what stuck out to me the most here was when this book focused on Sabretooth and Emma Frost. I think it's just because I've been enjoying the mutants asserting themselves to humans.

Well, that was insane. The ending sentence of the solicitation for this issue only makes it more so. Firstly, Larraz, once again, draws everything amazingly. His style perfectly fits in with this issue, in my opinion. Furthermore, Hickman truly creates a sense of urgency throughout the entire book and all really feels lost by the end. Of course, we still have two more issues to go for this miniseries alone and three more for Powers of X as well, so surely the mutants will come back from this somehow. Still, the way this issue ended was crazy.

Once again, House of X rules. This was a great follow-up to the madness that was Issue 4. The resurrection process is pretty cool, and bringing back Goldballs of all people and making him actually important in the process is wild. Additionally, EVERY mutant being accepted onto Krakoa is a super intriguing idea that definitely creates the potential for multiple interesting stories. All things considered, this was another great issue and I'm really looking forward to seeing how all of this wraps up.

A great ending to a fantastic miniseries. I know this whole thing isn't quite over yet with Powers of X #6 coming after this, but this does feel like the beginning of a new age in the best way possible. Larraz kills it once again with his art, and Hickman instills a sense of hope by this issue's final few pages. Just really great stuff here all around.

A fantastic one-shot focusing on some of the main antagonists of the current Absolute titles. Really enjoyed what was done with them here and I'm really excited for the direction going forward. What happened with Ollie was not what I was expecting at all, so I'm very intrigued to learn more details about the upcoming Absolute Green Arrow series. Though, arguably the biggest thing that happened here was after we got the title/credits page. Spoiler, but we, finally, have Lex Luthor in the universe and I'm already incredibly interested. Really enjoying the Absolute line right now.

A super intriguing start, even if I didn't enjoy it as much as many other seem to have. First and foremost, Camp does a really nice job of building this time-scattered world throughout the issue, and I think it's something that could definitely be explored further. Zawadzki's art compliments everything nicely, as well. My main gripe here is that things just felt like they were jumping around a lot. This may be, at least, one of the points, but it just doesn't entirely work for me, personally. I still really liked this overall, though.

Good lord. Definitely an intense issue here. I don't know if "enjoyed" is the right word, but I thought this was a fantastic examination of so many relevant concepts in today's world. Camp is continuing to establish himself as one of the next big names in comics with The Ultimates over at Marvel, Absolute Martian Manhunter at DC, and, now, this book.

Wow, this was absolutely fantastic. This really blew me away by the end. Incredibly and scarily relevant to our current world, specifically in regards to immigration in the United States. I'm almost speechless. Camp & Zawadski really put out something special here with my favorite issue of the series so far. This was just so profound and expertly-crafted.

Man, this is a great book. I feel like I can't praise Camp enough these days. He's genuinely one of my favorite writers in the game right now, if not my absolute favorite. Here, along with the amazingly talented Zawadzki, he depicts the way life seems to pass us by incredibly swiftly. It can be hard to, truly, feel present in your life with everything that goes on simultaneously, and this reflects that really well. Just another outstanding issue for this series.

I didn't like this quite as much as the last two issues, but this one still reinforces my feelings that this is a, truly, fantastic book. I continue to absolutely love this book with every issue that comes out, and I hope it's a series that ends up running for a long time. Camp & Zawadzki's depiction of trauma and everything that can come with it was, genuinely, outstanding. Zawadzki, especially, gets to shine here with his page and panel layouts. He really plays with and changes around the typical characteristics of those, which helps to provide a much more unique experience while reading.

I don't even know what to say about this. Genuinely, one of the most heartbreaking single issues I've ever read. I think it's my favorite issue of the series so far. At the time of this writing, only three single issues have ever made me cry, and this was the third. Camp & Zawadzki continue to both be just fantastic at what they do. Just absolute experts. I don't know what more I can say. What a ride this was.

Great stuff, once again. I think it's a testament to how amazing this series is that this was one of my least favorite issues of the series up to this point, and I'm still giving it the rating I am. Really appreciated the more comedic take this took towards the central issue(s), even if it's more of a dark dramedy, if anything. This issue, in particular, has been cool to see other people's feelings on, as it's one that I think can be interpreted in quite a few different ways. I see it as representing multiple things myself, including the desensitization to all of the death that happens every single day, living with one or more disabilities/medical conditions, and coming to terms with one's own mortality. Love this book.

Utterly heartbreaking. Time after time, this book manages to deal with multiple topics in such an interesting, thought-provoking, and emotionally resonant way. What a book this is. Loved that this was on newsprint, as well, as it only made the book better. Definitely one of the more experimental issues of this series, and I really enjoyed that side of it. This series just hurts so much in the best way possible.

Greatness has returned after nearly six months away and it continues to be...great. This time, it's tackling the current state of the job market and, really, economic inequality as a whole in that regard. That said, I really loved this one, which shouldn't be too much of a surprise if you know me. Very relevant, unfortunately, and something that I think reflects a lot of the lower, and even middle, class's frustrations with what working/jobs have become as a result of greedy corporations and the upper class, myself included.

I thought this was a great read. Moore does a really nice job with his scripts, in my opinion. He writes everyone well here and I liked the added layer to Joker's origin here. Of course, the story of Joker formerly being Red Hood and falling into a vat of chemicals was well-established before this, but I think the additional story aspect of Joker's family and what led him to taking that job as Red Hood in the first place just makes it better. Plus, Bolland does a fantastic job depicting everything. At first, I read the Deluxe Edition I have from 2008. I didn't find the colors bad or anything, but reading the story with the original coloring by John Higgins makes this, as a whole, so much better. So, I'd strongly recommend you to read this with Higgins's original coloring, whether it's an original copy or a collection featuring said colorist.

What a way to start off this miniseries. Firstly, Fabok's art is outstanding here. He's so detailed with his pencils and it's evident with just about every single page. As for Johns, he takes Alan Moore & Brian Bolland's fantastic Killing Joke one-shot from 1988 and builds upon it to craft a story with a ton of emotional weight and great writing along with it. This was just a spectacular first issue.

Though not at the heights of the first issue, in my opinion, this was still another strong read for this miniseries. Fabok's art delivers once again and Johns continues to put out a super interesting story. I don't really know how I feel about the stuff towards to end with Barbara and Jason, but it doesn't drastically alter my score of this issue or anything.

A great conclusion to this miniseries, in my opinion. I pretty much feel the same about this as I felt about the last two issues. I think I could have done without the Barbara and Jason romance aspect of this, but everything else worked very well. Fabok delivered fantastic art and Johns built upon Killing Joke in a super intriguing way. All things considered, I thought this was a spectacular miniseries from a really good team.

A great start here that does a really effective job of establishing Bill's character to new readers while also setting the stage for what's to come. This was my first major exposure to Johnson's art, and it's absolutely fantastic. He makes every action scene dynamic and impactful, but is also able to depict a great detail in the slower scenes as well. Every page is just awesome to look at, and that's not even talking about the writing. On top of his art, Johnson puts together a super compelling story. Bill's inferiority complex with Thor is a fairly simple concept, but Johnson builds upon it very nicely and, almost, tragically here. All things considered, I thought this was a strong first issue that really fired on all fronts.

Finally reviewing the book whose cover my (current) profile picture came from. Luckily, it's a fantastic read. Johnson absolutely kills it with his art. Every page is so detailed and enthralling. I also was not expecting to see Bill hit the Rainmaker, but I loved it. The story he puts together, though, continues to be compelling and just great. I like the dynamic between Bill and Skurge, as their interactions with each other were a ton of fun throughout this. Along with that, the emotional weight of Bill's journey is still felt hard here. I think Johnson has found a nice voice for Bill and I think this is just an awesome book overall.

We're at the midway point of this miniseries now and it continues to be awesome. I've gushed a bit about Johnson's art and his writing in the past two issues, and those sentiments still remain here. I especially liked the interaction between Bill and Skutt. The first half of the book, we get some nice, character-driven writing and in the next, we get a bunch of engaging, well-drawn action. Johnson can really do it all.

We're one issue away from the finale and this was another great read. I could, generally, talk about Johnson's writing and art, but I would just be repeating myself from my reviews of the previous three issues. What I can say about this one, specifically, is that I liked how Johnson went through Bill's past and I think he did an effective job of building and developing the relationship between Bill and Skutt.

This, and the rest of the miniseries, absolutely rocked. Bill hitting Surtur with Made in Japan through a giant spike was a truly incredible thing to see. Throughout this book, Johnson has proved he does well at pacing and balancing different tones. The action here was great, with some truly awesome splash pages, but even just the talking and emotion of this book hit just as hard, if not even harder. Bill may have been able to "fix" himself physically, but his emotional scars are far from healed and they will continue to stay deep within him.

Wow, this blew me away. I hadn't read anything by Camp when this was initially announced, so I was unsure how to feel about this. After reading Ultimates, though, I definitely got a lot more interested. That said, this is a different thing entirely, and I mean that in a good way. Camp continues to really establish himself as one of the most exciting rising stars in comics. Furthermore, I have to mention Rodriguez, as well, who continues to also deliver on amazing work with this book.

Another awesome issue. Rodríguez continues to absolutely nail it on the art duties, and Camp provides a thoroughly intriguing story that has a really nice balance between dealing with the weird space stuff from the main character(s) and real-world political issues. Camp, in particular, is really becoming one of my favorite writers in the game right now.

Great stuff once again. Whereas the previous issue focused a bit on xenophobia, this leans more into terrorism and how it functions. I really liked the political commentary here, as I typically do with Camp. Not just with the terroristic aspects of this, but with everything throughout. One standout moment, in particular, is when John is arriving home and describing his relationship with the Martian (who's name is now "confirmed" to be be J'onn J'onzz??).

The best issue since the first one, in my opinion. The idea of a heatwave in Middleton bringing out the worst in just about everyone is relatively simple idea, but Camp and Rodríguez just execute it so damn well. This book is making an incredibly strong case to end up being my favorite Absolute DC title, man. Camp really knows how to write complex, yet intriguing and relevant stories. Furthermore, Rodríguez time and time again puts out absolutely beautiful, gorgeous art. What a fantastic team we have here.

Another really good issue. Particularly enjoyed what was done throughout with people's shadows. I feel like I don't really have much to say outside of what I've been saying about this book already. Camp & Rodríguez continue to put out an absolutely fantastic book month after month. Really stoked that this got extended to 12 issues.

A great finale for the first arc here. Camp & Rodríguez killed it once again here, and I'm really looking forward to seeing where the book goes when it returns for the next arc. Really loved that the ending was a bit of a callback, of sorts, to the ending of the first issue with the importance of having a physical copy.

We're back and this book continues to be great. Another issue I had to sit with for a bit before appreciating how good it is, which isn't a bad thing at all. Very intrigued to see how this second half of the series plays out, especially with the book initially only being six issues. I was gonna say that I hope Camp doesn't run out of good ideas, but I feel like that would probably be a silly thing to propose.

Fantastic. Loved both sides of the story here when John and the Martian separated, particularly that of the latter. The political messaging is sure to upset "those" people, but I very much liked it and thought it was well-done. Unfortunately, very representative of the United States here in the real world. In any case, this was another great issue with both Camp and Rodríguez firing on all cylinders.

The best issue so far. I think this manages to continue it's very thoughtful commentary on social issues, while also making it a bit more understandable for a wider audience of readers. That said, very well-done representation of mental health issues, particularly those of self-deprecation in this case. This was especially resonant for me, as someone who has had experienced poor mental health quite a bit. Anyways, yeah, loved this one.

Another great issue where Camp continues writing highly interesting and well-thought-out political commentary, along with solid story progression, and Rodríguez continues drawing gorgeous art to accompany it. One of my main complaints about this, though, is that I would have liked a little something more from those scenes with Bridget and Tyler. The last page with Bridget imagining herself killing John was definitely intriguing, but the rest of it was almost meandering. The White Martian has definitely possessed Tyler, but I'd like to see further development of that point, especially with only two more issues left in the series.

Outstanding book with a lot of fantastic political commentary. Near the end of its run, this is really coming for Wonder Woman's place as my favorite Absolute title. I loved the first six issues of this, but this second half has taken my love for this book even further. Camp and Rodríguez are elite level talent, and they've consistently proved it on this title. Camp, particularly, as he's just insanely good, particularly so with metaphors and symbolism.

Good lord. What a book. I love this series. What an ending that does just an outstanding job encapsulating not just so many themes from this book, but the thesis of the Absolute Universe as a whole. Camp & Rodríguez completely stick the landing here with one of the book's best issues, if not its very best. There isn't really more I can say other than that, if you haven't read this series, you need to. Just a beautiful work of art.

Fantastic first issue. Simmonds definitely has a style that won’t appeal to everyone, but it’s one that I do really enjoy, particularly for the tone and story of this book. Speaking of which, what a concept. Absolutely enthralling, with so much potential for interesting story directions. The reveal at the end was great, particularly. Very much looking forward to seeing where this book goes.

Not quite on the level of the first issue, but still great and highly interesting. Really loving this whole concept in general, honestly. Gonna need the lore of the Star-Faced Man pronto, though. Very intrigued to see what comes of him and what he did to Cole, as we saw in the first issue. Anyways, yeah, this was great. Not much else to say, really.

Another fantastic issue here, which I particularly loved for the way it handled a grieving mother who lost her child to a school shooting. Just a really rough read, in that regard, but that’s what made it great. Tynion managed to handle a very serious topic through the strange lens of this book and I think it definitely proves how deep this book can go/get with its inherent subject matter. Once again, loved this.

This was absolutely stellar. My favorite issue of the series thus far. What a fantastic read. Simmonds continues to kill it on the interiors, and Tynion was just on a different level this time around. The whole conspiracy laid out, the entire dilemma it would cause by being made public (even though it’s not true), and what Cole is forced to do was just insane. Just a really great book.

Not the best issue of the series, but, for this series, even that can mean it’s still great, which it is. Cole’s conversation with Martin was incredibly tense, which was a majority of the issue. I do think the ending here could have been a bit stronger, though, and I do understand the criticisms of Tynion making it so Cole is a, kind of, “chosen one” in this world, but I don’t mind the latter part too much. Both things said, I still loved this issue and I’m still loving this series.

This was a pretty strong and thought-provoking opening issue for this miniseries. Yes, the mutants have gained the ability to resurrect their own, but I like the different approach to that concept that Spurrier's taken with Nightcrawler. This different perspective on Krakoan resurrection and how it's created a devalorization of life among the mutants is really intriguing to read. Plus, Quinn's art throughout is rock solid. I particularly enjoy the way he draws Nightcrawler, although I may be a bit biased since Nightcrawler has one of my favorite designs among the mutants. Either way, I thought this was just a great debut issue that definitely left me wanting more in a good way.

Another great issue here. Spurrier has a really interesting cast of characters he's working with here, and I believe he's using them all well. Nightcrawler and Legion are the two best, in my opinion. I think their interactions throughout this issue were well-written, and I especially enjoyed Nightcrawler talking to Legion about their names. Really good stuff here once again.

I really loved this issue, as I thought it was the best one so far. Everything just clicked with me here. Nightcrawler's drunken actions during the Hellfire Gala was a fun few pages, but I especially enjoyed his visit to the Bower and the, sort of, exploration of the first Krakoan law. Plus, I found the way Legion tried to help Mercury and Loa very intriguing, even if it was just done to lure out Onslaught. The ending with Doctor Nemesis and Dazzler was nice as well, but I do think it could have been handled a bit better. Regardless of that, this issue was pretty awesome.

This series just continues to be great. My favorite part of this has to be Nightcrawler's confrontation with Fabian Cortez. Legion was another highlight as well, but I just love Nightcrawler here. This has been a really well-written and nicely-drawn series thus far that has given a great perspective on the three Krakoan laws.

Good lord what a way for this series to end. I know it continues with the Onslaught Revelation one-shot, but it's the final issue under "Way of X." This was just a fantastic book from start to finish. I really liked how Spurrier wrote Legion here, and, of course, he handled Nightcrawler amazingly. I can't believe I just read a book where Nightcrawler teleports an entire moon, but here we are and it was awesome. Speaking of which, Quinn did some outstanding work from when Fabian overloads Nightcrawler to when he dies after teleporting the moon. Everything else he did in this book was great as well, but that was a set of pages I particularly enjoyed. This was just a fantastic issue overall.

A pretty strong start to this run. There are things that weren't my favorite, like the Matt's fight with the robbers and the way the pages were Wilson was introduced at the end were formatted, but there's just so much to like here. Checchetto's art is fantastic and fits Daredevil so well. A very, very great choice for this book. Additionally, I really enjoyed the way Zdarsky wrote just about everything here. I really enjoyed his voice for Matt, and I thought he did a fantastic job of weaving in and out of flashbacks, with each flashback being very well-written. Of course, though, I have to mention the ending. It's such a simple thing to do, but it works very well with the story being told here. If this is just the first issue, I'm excited to see where the rest of the run goes.

Very happy to say that this was even better than the first issue. With that issue making a point to do some introduction/establishment of Matt/Daredevil for new readers, this issue is "allowed" to fully dive into the story Zdarsky wants to tell, and it's great. Checchetto continues to kill it on the interiors, as well, but I'm really loving the way Zdarsky has handled this so far. The scene with Matt listening in on Wilson's conversation with Wesley was probably my favorite moment of this, though, the ending was very intriguing, as well.

Another great read. Very invested still. Punisher showing up at the end should give way to some more great stuff in the next issue, as his dynamic with Matt is something that I think has the potential to fit incredibly well with the story being told thus far. I need it right now, honestly. Zdarsky & Checchetto are really cooking here, man.

Yeah, man...this absolutely rocked. Was very stoked to see Frank showing up in this storyline, and I was not disappointed whatsoever. Zdarsky does a nice job writing both him and Matt here, which is exactly what had me excited about this. Like many others, I really enjoyed the end of their interaction, in particular. Cole hanging up on Wilson was a really interesting moment as well, and I'm looking forward to seeing the follow-up to that, if there ends up being some. In any case, this was the best issue so far. Loving this a lot.

What an ending to the first arc. I think I slightly preferred the previous issue over this one, but this was great in its own ways. The Spider-Man appearance, in particular, was just fantastically done. Luke, Jessica, and Danny were all handled nicely, as well, but Peter's interaction with Matt was on another level. Lovely art from Checchetto once again, also. Such a great book.

The weakest issue of the run thus far, but still really good. Sharma does a very solid job filling in here on the interiors, though I didn't feel that his art was quite as good as Marco Checchetto's, even if it was good. That said, I like the direction the story is going in. Matt not immediately becoming Daredevil again after the last issue is a good decision, even if there's a 99% chance he'll get back in the suit sooner rather than later.

I like the look into the aftermath of the first arc here, though I'm not enjoying this as much as I was at first. Don't get me wrong, this is still really good, but it's just to quite the same for me, unfortunately. I'd really like Marco Checchetto back, for starters. Sharma as good, but Checchetto is just in a different league. Additionally, this is just going a tad bit slow. Yes, just a tad. In any case, I still liked this a lot and I'm looking forward to more.

Back to greatness with this issue. It's definitely a lot more dialogue-driven than most, if not all, of the previous issues, but it's very well-written dialogue. Really loved the discussion about crime between Matt and the Libris Family, in particular here, with Sharma continuing to do a nice job on the interiors. Will be interesting to see if this is followed up on through any future appearances of the family.

Great issue. I particularly loved the opening conversation between Matt and Reed. I thought it was very well-written and easily the best part of the issue. I thought it, especially, did a great job of not actually "picking a side" in a non-annoying way and saying something meaningful. The rest of this was really good, also, but that part was just fantastic.

Great stuff. Really loved Fornés on the interiors. He rocks in general, but I think he's an especially nice fit for a character like Daredevil. His style also fits greatly with the story being told, which I'm still really enjoying. Elektra showing up at the end has me very interested to see what her place in the run is going forward. Also, while I'm very glad that Marco Checchetto is returning to interiors in the next issue, I really hope this isn't the last of Fornés filling in.

Am I bumping this up a bit because I absolutely adore the way Zdarsky writes Spider-Man? Yeah, probably, but I don't really care. This book is great. Spider-Man's writing isn't the only great stuff here, as the rest of the book is still very intriguing. Very glad to see Checchetto back on interiors, also, and he kills it once again here.

Fantastic, once again. The stuff with Matt was really good, as it's been consistently, but the stuff with Wilson was the strongest here, in my opinion. Very intrigued to see where he goes from here, and I really enjoyed the way that scene with him killing that guy in the bathroom was handled. It could have been drawn in great detail, but it didn't really need to be. In any case, still loving this book.

What a great book this is. Fantastic follow-up to the previous issue, with Wesley getting a chance to shine here. Additionally, I really liked the stuff we got with Cole, and I'm very interested to see how his character progresses as the series continues. Oh yeah, Elektra training Matt was awesome, as well. Just about everything in this book is very well-done.

Not typically a fan of the artist changing in the middle of an issue, but I'm glad they made it work better here, with Checchetto and Mobili both focusing on different sides of the overall story. Though, it was a little distracting whenever Checchetto wasn't drawing the page, as I wasn't as big on Mobili's art as I am on Checchetto's. That said, the writing of this continues to be great. I'm still really liking what's happening with Cole, in particular.

Really enjoyed the Wilson-focused stuff here, though Matt's side of things was interesting as well. I would have liked for Checchetto to have drawn the whole issue, but Mobili's interiors are nice here, also. As I mentioned in my review of the previous issue, I liked that they, at least, had both artist consistently draw the same "sides" of the story throughout this.

Continues the greatness. Loved seeing Fornés back doing interiors, and he killed it once again here. Really enjoyed the stealth/action sequences here, especially, though I liked just about everything about this issue. The beginning with Foggy was very well-done, particularly for not being a particularly long segment of the book. Oh yeah, and I'm also very interested to see what happens next with Cole after what we got with him here.

Yeah, this book continues to just rock. Zdarsky has done fantastic work over the course of the whole series, and this was one of my favorite issues of the entire run. Nice to see Fornés staying on through the end of the arc, as his interiors continue to be simply great. Everything just hit so well in this issue. It feels like a lot happened, all without feeling too dense. Really looking forward to seeing how the next issue plays out.

Alright, then. Another fantastic issue from this run. Zdarsky and Fornés kill it again...but, is that really much of a surprise at this point? Back-to-back with some of my favorite issues in this run. This was, essentially, everything I loved about the last issue all over again, but not in a way that felt repetitive. In any case, an incredibly strong ending to the arc that has me very hungry for more.

Greatness once again. Having Checchetto back on the interiors is awesome, and he absolutely delivers here. I'm not giving this a 10/10 or 5/5, but this is still up there as one of my favorite issues in the run. Particularly loved the ending, with Matt reclaiming the Daredevil moniker.

A great second half to this story arc. Insanely action-packed. Maybe a little too packed in? Still awesome, though. Checchetto does fantastic work, once again, and Zdarsky maintains my interest at a super high level. Really enjoyed the strong majority of what we got here, and I continue to really look forward to what's coming next.

While this is a little packed, it's all great and it's done so to set the stage for what's to come. As a massive wrestling fan, this is a lot of fun. The story here is full of heart and emotion, and I can already tell that Johnson's always outstanding and unique art is going to fit right in with the wrestling of this book.

Good LORD what a final page. Johnson's art continues to shine here, and it isn't even just the fantastic wrestling scenes. Not even fives pages into the book, and he draws an incredibly detailed face-shot of Willard. Talking more about the story itself, the emotional stakes are kicked up a bunch by what is a fantastic reveal on the final page, in which we learn that Lona's dad is Cobrasun. I wasn't sure if Johnson would be making wrestling pre-determined or fully-real in this book, which is why I wasn't sure how to feel about Cobrasun feeling guilt over Yua's death. This issue makes it all the more heartbreaking, and I'm already loving this miniseries.

DWJ kills it again with this book. The stage is set for a wrestling tournament like no other, and it absolutely delivers. This is the most action-heavy issue of the series so far and it's so much fun. I wasn't ready for FTR's Shatter Machine to be busted out by the Knights of Rhyne, but I loved it and said team is already established as a solid threat for Issue 4. Despite containing a lot of action, the series doesn't lose its emotional stakes. Aside from Lona and Cobrarsun, you have the added layer of Nexel and Petey trying to get their sister back as well. Along with all of that, Johnson's art blends perfectly with the action of the matches and the overall story being told.

This book just continues to be fantastic. Lona and Cobrasun take out the solidly built-up antagonists from the previous issue, and their next opponents are already established with even higher stakes. In this issue's main match, Johnson captures some of the best parts of pro-wrestling matches with the action, the suspense, and the emotions. Moving on to the issue's second match, I wasn't expecting Uncle Blood to show up, but it makes sense after it was shown that Lona and Cobrasun weren't the only team from Earth. As for their opponents, Fyso have been built a bit previously in the series, and now they've really given Lona and Cobrasun another strong reason to fight, aside from them trying to get Yuo back. The tease of a hardcore match on the final page was awesome also, and it sets the stage for what could possibly be the best match yet in the next issue.

Another fantastic issue that shows just how violent wrestling can get. Once again, Johnson's art is absolutely stunning in this issue and he makes every move look so impactful. Johnson is able to expertly blend insane action with emotional stories to show what makes wrestling fans love it, including myself. Lona finding out that her dad is Cobrasun was very well-done and I liked that it played into the match's outcome, in turn giving the heels the unexpected win in the tournament. I'm in love with this miniseries.

The penultimate issue of this miniseries continues the trend of awesome reads. If things couldn't get any bigger, Lona and Cobrasun now have to literally wrestle God. The flashbacks into Cobrasun's past with Yuo were nice to see, as it strengthens our emotional investment into the story of him trying to get his wife back. This has just been an extremely well-written run so far, paired with some fantastic art.

What an outstanding ending. First, Lona and Cobrasun's match with God absolutely delivers and displays their true determination when they manage to make God bleed, in what is just such an insane moment. The match as a whole is just perfectly done, in my opinion. Everything afterwards is just so nicely done as well. I rarely cry at comics, but I'd be a liar if I said the final page of this didn't get me. Johnson absolutely sticks the landing here in a miniseries that truly acts as a love letter to professional wrestling, and I loved every second of it.

A strong start to this crossover. This really feels like something big, and that feeling is consistent throughout this issue. I continue to really enjoy how Apocalypse has been written in Dawn of X so far as well especially, whether it's under Hickman in the main X-Men title or by Howard over in Excalibur. There are a lot of interesting things set up here with Apocalypse and other characters as well, such as Archangel and Cyclops. Also, that kill from the High Summoner was crazy and only made better by Larraz's fantastic art.

The middle chapter of this crossover is a lot of setup, but it's damn good setup. Depicted with some beautiful art, Hickman and Howard really begin to set bigger things in motion following the first half of this, in which we saw everyone get their swords to get to this point. Great stuff all around with this issue.

They saved the best issue for last with this one. This was an amazingly-written, fantastically-drawn, just awesome conclusion to this event. Hickman does a great job of writing Apocalypse and that was incredibly evident here across various outstanding moments centered around him. I also found Saturynne's ending in all of this a bit heartbreaking, which I think added a nice touch to this story. This was just excellent all around.

Really great first issue here. Brombal did a fantastic job of getting me invested in Jack and his world, along with hooking me into the story itself. I, particularly, enjoyed Brombal's usage of jumping around in time. Sometimes, it can be hard to pull that off, but I felt that he did a really good job with that aspect. Additionally, Phillips proves to be such a great choice for this book. His "standard" work in here is very nice, though he's also able to do the more horrific elements of this very very well. Just an amazing read.

Great once again. Was sitting on an even 9/10 for this, but the part at the end when Luke is shot in the head was just insane. This really pushed it up to a 9.5/10 for me, personally. Really wasn't sure what would happen to Luke and/or Daisy, but this was wild. A lot quicker, in terms of its pacing, than the first issue. Great use of flashbacks again, also. Phillips continues to be a star, also. Absolutely killing it (no pun intended).

Not quite as great as the first two issues, but still a fantastic read. A lot of well-done drama with very strong art from Phillips. Very glad that Phillips has proved that he deserves to be a prominent artist because he's really good at his job, rather than solely having a well-regarded father. In any case, this is really good stuff. Hoping the last two issues closes this out strongly.

Oh? OH??? Really wild way to end this. I know we have one more issue, but that cliffhanger was wild. Incredibly interested to see what this means for the zombies as we go into that aforementioned final issue. That said, both Brombal and Phillips are still doing great work here. Brombal, specifically, has managed to do a fantastic job tugging at the heart-strings and making characters compelling in short order.

Not quite everything I had hoped it would be, but still a great ending to a fantastic book overall. Brombal and Phillips are both creators to be watching as time goes on, as this book was consistently top-notch. Amazing storytelling on both of their fronts. Everything I've praised this book for in my reviews of other issues was present here once again. Beautifully horrifying.

This was a nicely put together opening issue for the series that establishes the main cast for the issue to come. The conflicts Storm faces surrounding her position, status, and leadership is very interesting. Also, I love to see Magneto getting a starring role in this series and his story with the Fisher King is compelling. Along with that, we have a fun story with Sunspot, Vulcan, and Thunderbird. Overall, I think this issue sets up a few intriguing storylines that I'm looking forward to seeing unfold.

This was a step-up from the previous issue, both in the story and the art. Neither were bad at all in Issue 1, but they just felt better here. Aside from Caselli's awesome art, which especially shines towards the end with Storm and Vulcan, the story here continues to be interesting. Ewing makes good use out of most, if not all, of the main characters without making them feel like afterthoughts. I'm looking forward to seeing where Vulcan's story goes.

GOOD LORD what a book. I haven't read much of Manifold, Thunderbird, or even Cable before this, but their story surrounding Abigail sets up a lot of intrigue. Speaking of Abigail, her and Storm's conversation about Vulcan challenging Tarn was just really well-written, as was the aftermath when Storm was talking with Magneto, Sunspot, and Fisher King. On top of that, we had the challenge. Tarn and Vulcan's fight was just great and got absolutely brutal when Tarn beat him into the ground. I was sitting on a good 9.5 right there, but then we got Magneto challenging Tarn. Sunspot betting Isca that Tarn would win was such a clever twist to signal his impending defeat, and the way Magneto killed Tarn was just incredible. I haven't even mentioned that this is probably Caselli's best artwork on the title yet. I almost didn't pick up the first issue of this, but a friend of mine recommended it to me after reading it. Suffice to say, changing my mind was a very good decision.

Another fantastic issue from this series. As another user pointed out in their review, a large majority of this issue deals with facing one's mortality. Despite covering various different characters in the span of one issue, that one theme is shared. We have Storm's story, where Sandra's resurrection and the reasonings for it are discussed. Magneto's comes from his discussion with the Grand Ring, ultimately resulting in him destroying his and Storm's last remaining backups (Which I'm sure definitely won't come back later AT ALL). Finally, we have the most heartfelt section of the book with Sunspot and Wrongslide. Wrongslide feels a little bit of imposter syndrome here and quickly becomes an incredibly compelling character as he explains what he feels when people who knew Rockslide just look at him. It's crazy to me that I gave the previous issue a 10 and I'm giving this issue a 10 as well, considering that my favorite part of the last issue was Magneto killing someone in brutal fashion, while my favorite part of this issue is Sunspot and Wrongslide simply talking about their feelings.

A great tie-in issue with Judgment Day for this series. Uranos basically decimating Arakko was absolutely crazy in the best way. I liked that Ewing kept a clock of sorts going throughout, just to show how powerful Uranos is. Him killing Magneto was wild, and the final page of this issue really intrigues me.

This continues to be a very well-written series. Ewing takes the Judgment Day crossover and uses it to his benefit greatly. Following Arakko getting absolutely demolished by Uranos in the previous issue, this does good in depicting the Brotherhood trying to rally and save what they can as things move forward. Storm is a character Ewing has very well over the course of this run, and this is no exception. It also helps that Caselli continues to provide fantastic art that only adds to the story. I'm just loving this.

While I do wish that the fight against Uranos was included in this series, I completely understand why it wasn't and I think that this was still another fantastic issue. Magneto finally dying in Storm's arms is absolutely heartbreaking, and Musabekov's art only makes it better. I was slightly worried learning that Stefano Caselli wouldn't be drawing this issue, as I've been loving his work in this run so far, but Musabekov does a nice job here as well and is a solid pick to fill in. Moving to the writing duties, Ewing continues to be incredible with his scripts here. The scene with Isca is just great, and the way Fisher King gets Isca to leave is reminiscent of how Sunspot helped Magneto beat Tarn back in Issue 3, but the fact that it's not exactly the same thing is another thing I liked about it. The final few pages of this book intrigues me as well, as it seems we're going to be dealing with Brand a lot more as this series continues.

We're finally diving more into Abigail Brand with this storyline, and I thought this was super interesting. This wasn't my favorite issue of the series, but it's still very well-written and well-illustrated. Ewing shows a lot of depth in this story, and, after doing great in the previous issue, Musabekov cements himself as a nice addition to this run. I agree with what another user stated in their review, in that Musabekov should be a rotating artist with Stefano Caselli. I'm looking forward to what comes of this current story.

While I was enjoying Madibek Musabekov's art in the past two issues, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't glad to see Caselli back on the art duties. His art is so nicely detailed and I believe it fits this series incredibly well. I particularly like how Sunspot is drawn in this issue. As for the writing, it continues to be great with this more Vulcan-focused issue. I really liked the interaction between him and Sunspot here, and I'm really looking forward to Vulcan facing Storm in Issue 10.

Man, I can't state enough how much I enjoy this run. In just about every review of this book so far, I've mentioned how good Ewing and Caselli are. That doesn't change here, so I won't repeat myself here. What I will say is that Storm and Vulcan's confrontation is easily the highlight of this book for me, and I really enjoy how she's been handled over the course of this series.

Was this a great issue? Yes. Do I still absolutely love this series? Yes. Like Immortal X-Men #11 a week prior, the events of Sins of Sinister are felt here with Charles and Ororo's heated conversation. While I really enjoyed that section of the book, I can't believe Charles interrupted that date at the beginning. There was some chemistry there and I really hope this is something explored further sometime soon. The ending of this book is interesting as well and I'm wondering where things go with Ironfire showing up at the end.

This issue was a lot of setup for what's to come following Ironfire's arrival at the end of the previous issue. While I did enjoy it and think it's very far from being bad, I must also say that I believe it to be the weakest issue of the series thus far. However, that's a testament to how good this run has been when my score for this is as high as it is. The only other issue I've scored an 8.5 is the first issue. Other than that, nothing has been below a 9.0 for me. Despite the slight dip in quality here, my interest as to where things are going here is still present and all I can say is that I hope the series returns back to 9-10 territory soon.

I enjoyed the previous issue and it was another really good read, but it wasn't up to the standards set by the rest of the series, in my opinion. However, with Issue 13, we're right back up in 9-10 territory when it comes to overall quality. The bulk of this book is Genesis basically talking down to the Great Ring because of their recent changes in ideology, and I loved it. The Annihilation Staff is a nice touch to her character as well and I'm interested to see what comes of its involvement here. The art of this book is solid as well, not quite Stefano Caselli, but at least we still get him on covers. The next three issues are, currently, supposed to have Yıldıray Çınar on the art duties. Everything I've seen of his is good, so hopefully things work out in that respect. Overall, I'm really looking forward to how this current storyline progresses.

Another great entry for this title. As another user stated in their review, it feels like this war has been brewing for a while. Ewing doesn't let the implications from Fall of X hinder the ongoing story of this series, despite the inclusion of certain elements (Example: Roberto telling Storm about what happened at the Hellfire Gala). The war that begins here is great. The moment with Isca is fantastic and I liked that she was present for this story, even if it's just for that one page. In general, I thought all of the characters were written well and I also thought this issue had some nice character moments for Storm, Lodus Logos, and even Kobak. Overall, this was another case of me really enjoying X-Men: Red and I'm really looking forward to seeing how everything unfolds with the war on Arakko.

I am absolutely down for some Fisher King backstory, and what we got here was very intriguing. I also enjoyed seeing the present-day stuff dealing with the ongoing war on Arakko. I'm definitely interested to see how Fisher King factors into this current storyline given the increased focus on him here. While I wouldn't say this was my favorite issue, it does provide some very nice setup going into the next issue. This war storyline continues to keep me interested and I'm looking forward to seeing it all unfold.

A truly fantastic issue that gives Storm a very tough decision when it comes to Uranos. I'm very much looking forward to finding out what she does. As for everything else, Ewing just does such a great job putting together an interesting and engaging story. This really feels like it's a big deal as we approach the end of the series. I was close to giving this a 9.5/10 since I was debating that score or a 9.0/10, but I didn't have any strong feelings about the backup story with Sunspot. It wasn't bad, but I don't think it was needed either. I only want a backup story if it's going to tie-in with the main story and/or if it's just really good.

Great stuff, which isn't anything new from Ewing. Çinar has been putting out some really nice art as well, and that continues here. There's only one issue left now and it feels like it's gonna be big after how this went. This mainly felt like some set up for the big confrontation in the next issue, but it was all written so well. All I hope is that Issue 18 delivers, though I'm sure it will.

A great way to close out this series. This just missed the 10/10 mark, but it was still amazing. Ewing continues to write Storm fantastically, and I really enjoyed the confrontation and fight between her and Genesis. Speaking of the latter, the ending of this was really intriguing. I knew the whole story wouldn't get wrapped up, considering comics never stop and especially considering that Ewing will be doing Resurrection of Magneto starting next month. Though, that considered, I thought this was a fitting conclusion to this outstanding run.

Loved this start. This is the book I was looking forward to the most from the initial three books from the Absolute DC line, and it truly delivered. Sherman's not an artist I'm super familiar with, but I think his style fits incredibly with the setting we're placed into here. Furthermore, I'm already incredibly intrigued with the world Thompson has begun to build here. Her characterization of Diana and Circe were both well-done, in my opinion, as was the relationship between the two. The plot itself didn't advance a whole lot here, but this was more about setting the stage before anything else. Really looking forward to seeing where this one goes.

Not as good as the previous issue, but still a really good one. Sherman's art continues to look great, and I liked how Thompson wrote the relationship between Diana and Steve. Diana, in particular, has just been handled greatly thus far. All things considered, this series is two-for-two when it comes to awesome issues. This continues to be my favorite of the Absolute line thus far.

Awesome issue from this series, once again. Everything I've praised the last two issues for is what I would praise for this one. Thompson and Sherman are really crafting up great stuff with this one (Spoiler art coming next, just in case you're looking at reviews without having read the issue yourself yet). Diana cutting off her right arm for Steve was insane, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of their relationship going forward.

This book just continues to be fantastic. The flashback with Circe was great, with some super cool stuff in the present also. Diana enlarging her sword to slice through the Tetracide was a wild moment that fit right in with the vibe of this series. Just loving this run.

Yeah. Great stuff once again in my favorite issue thus far. Sherman continues to put out career-defining work, while Thompson presents a beautifully-crafted story and script. I'm so glad this has delivered, and then some, after being my favorite of the initial three Absolute books that were announced.

The change of the interior art from Hayden Sherman to Mattia de Iulis was a little jarring, but it fits with this story, in my opinion, and Iulis is absolutely fantastic. So, I can't really complain that much. Aside from that, this was a well-written first half and I'm looking forward to more.

Really good second half of this arc. Iulis continues to deliver, even if his style is still VERY different from Hayden Sherman, the regular series artist. As for Thompson, she just keeps on hitting home runs. She's absolutely (no pun intended) killing it with this series so far.

My least favorite issue of the series thus far, which I think it saying something when I'm still giving it as high of a score as I am. Nice to see Sherman back on the interiors, and Thompson still puts together an intriguing plot for this new arc. As always, looking forward to reading and learning more about this world.

A great second part to this new arc that I'm glad to say I liked better than the first. Sherman continues to deliver on the art duties, and I'm really liking the mythology Thompson is bringing to the table here. Looking forward to the next interaction between Wonder Woman and Dr. Poison, assuming they do interact again.

Another great issue as we reach the halfway mark of this current storyline. I've really loved the flashbacks we've been getting with Diana and Circe in Hell, and we got an awesome one here. As for the stuff in the present-day, that was really good, as well. Kind of a spoiler incoming here, but I was not ready for Ferdinand to go so soon. Hopefully he's not dead yet and we get to see him again.

This book continues to be so damn good. My favorite issue since the outstanding fifth one. Both Thompson and Sherman are just killing it on this series. Really loved Diana's characterization here, once again. Furthermore, Sherman has been doing some really nice panelling over the course of the series, and it doesn't stop here. Also, of course, super glad to see that Ferdinand is okay.

Yes yes yes. That's what I'm talking about, man. This book is so good. The second larger arc of this book ends with another home run from Thompson and Sherman. I continue to, truly, adore Diana's characterization. Loved that she let Clea go free in order to find out whether or not she's the way she is because of being trapped in the maze, or if it's just who she really is as a person. Also, I think this is the first time Atlantis and/or Atlanteans have been mentioned in the Absolute Universe? Perhaps an Arthur Curry appearance is in the cards?

Really great start to this mini-arc, of sorts. I wasn't sure what to think of Beraga's interiors upon seeing the first page or so, but I ended up liking it quite a bit as the book progressed. While I still prefer Hayden Sherman, Beraga's work is nothing to dismiss. The cost of Diana using her magic having a physical representing is a super interesting idea that I'm really looking forward to seeing more of, even if it's likely only in the next issue.

Great ending to this two part arc. Bergara did an awesome job filling in on interiors here, and Thompson’s writing continues to shine brightly. Really enjoying her voice for this take on Diana, which is a particular strong aspect about this issue. Very much looking forward to seeing how she and Hayden Sherman handle Absolute Batman in the next issue.

Fantastic issue for the first Absolute team-up. Was very stoked to see this title get the first “part” between the two, and they set a high standard. Sherman is back on interiors and they’re as great as ever, and Thompson continues to write this so incredibly well. Really looking forward to the inevitable crossover bringing all of the Absolute heroes together.

Super interesting first issue for this arc. All of the praise I’d give this book, I feel, are things I’ve said a thousand times at this point. Thompson & Sherman doing this version of Wonder Woman is fantastic and amazing. Sherman’s panel layouts are, especially, so gorgeous and unique. Love this book.

Beautiful story and beautiful art. As it was when he drew the second arc of this title, Iulis being on the interiors is a little jarring for me when I'm so used to Hayden Sherman, or even Matías Bergara more recently. Really great art, so I can't complain, but it still throws me off a bit. In any case, what really pushed this to the 10/10 score, for me, was the storytelling from Thompson. Just a super compelling story that had me a bit emotional. Further proof that this take on Wonder Woman might be the best one.

Great read. Super fun action and great writing for the characters throughout this. One thing I really love about this book is seeing all of the capabilities/possibilities of Diana's magic. Having the witch/magic aspect to her character provides so much potential for wild powers, and it's always cool seeing what she can do. Oh yeah, amazing work from Sherman here, as well, which is no surprise.

Not the best issue of the arc, but still another great read. It's been hard for this series to deviate from greatness, honestly. Well-written and well-drawn characters. The latter is even true when Sherman isn't drawing the interiors, as the selection of fill-in artists has been really good. I still prefer Sherman on this book, but I can't complain with artist like Mattia de Iulis or Matías Bergara. Very interested to see if this trend continues when Dillon Snook fills in, starting on #21. Anyways, this was very enjoyable.

Great characters moments for both Diana and Zatanna here. Really hoping we get to see the latter of the two more following the conclusion of this arc. I think this take on her is super cool, and I feel as though there's a lot of potential with her, particularly in terms of character exploration and just overall storytelling. As for this issue, it was just another great one overall.

A great finale for this arc. The ending of this, in particular, had a big hand in boosting my score a bit for this, as I, genuinely, felt the strain on Diana's heart after being teleported back to Hell without saving Barbara, or before even being able to let her, or anyone else, know what's going on and/or why she suddenly vanished. Looking forward to how this continues to play out.

Really good writing, as per usual. Although, I do think Snook's work here was the weakest interiors the series has seen thus far, unfortunately. I still liked what we got here, in terms of the art, but I also felt that it wasn't quite as good as I would have hoped for. I can definitely see why he was chosen as a fill-in artist, though, as his style appears rather similar to that of Hayden Sherman.

Very intriguing first issue. I already feel that Latour is a great pick to draw this, as his work only made the environment and setting feel more complete. I think that's, perhaps, the strongest aspect of this issue: the environment. Aaron does a great job with it, having grown up in Alabama himself. I think I'm gonna need more than that in future installments, but a first issue is very much about establishment, and I think Aaron & Latour do a very nice job of that here.

I didn't grow up in the South, but this book continues to resonate with me, personally. I grew up (and currently live) in a smaller city that's believed, amongst the community, to either keep you there forever or make you come back if you ever leave. That's the sort of vibe I'm getting from Craw County, Alabama, and I believe that's part of what makes me especially enjoy this book. I really like Earl, as well, and I'm very intrigued by his internal struggles and conflict.

Best issue thus far. At first, I misinterpreted the ending as Esaw and his crew leaving Tad alone after shooting the television. However, I went back and realized that they were, actually, attacking him in that final panel. Good lord, what a way to make Esaw even more unlikeable. Really glad I double-checked that, because the ending didn't land the best for me initially. In any case, a lot of great stuff throughout this. A strong start, especially, with Earl kicking the hell out of Esaw. Absolutely loved that. Additionally, I think Aaron is also doing a nice job of building Coach Boss as a big antagonist. Really loving this book.

What an ending to the first arc. I was ready for Earl to come back and, at least, get some good shots in on Coach Boss before the two of them went their own ways by the end. However, what we got was, definitely, not that. Boss killing Earl really came out of left field, but I'm not mad about it. Based on the epilogue, it looks like Earl's daughter is going to be stepping into the spotlight as the lead going forward, and I'm interested to see where that goes, particularly with Earl now dead. Man, I was really hoping for more Earl. Hell of an issue, though. A haunting ending, and I need to know what happens next...like, immediately.

After the death of Earl in the previous issue, we now get to dive into Coach Boss. Super interesting stuff, in my opinion. Aaron continues to write him really well. I think he does a good job of giving him, somewhat, sympathetic origins, while also not attempting to get the reader to "forgive" him, for lack of a better term. Sure, he had some rough stuff happen in his youth, which can act as a reasoning as to why he is the way he is, but it's merely "reasoning," not an excuse.

Another fantastic issue for this book. We dive even deeper into Coach Boss's origins, and I'm really loving it. I do think it's starting to border on "feel sorry for the antagonist," but I have confidence that this won't be the case, unless the story is taking a big turn. We've already seen one huge, unexpected turn with the ending of the last arc, so I won't put that past Aaron. In any case, great stuff here.

What a book, man. This arc focusing on Euless has just been getting better and better. I'm really hoping the next issue maintains his incredibly rough origins, while also solidifying him as a bad person with this arc being "reasoning," rather than "excusal." In any case, this was just amazingly-done. Absolutely love, love, love this book.

And with that, we come to the ending of another fantastic arc. I've mentioned this idea before, but I'm really glad Euless wasn't made out to be sympathetic antagonist/antihero/etc. here. Was his backstory well-written, giving background and reasoning as to how he became the way he is? Yes, completely. However, it doesn't do so in order to excuse him of being a terrible person in the first arc and going forward. Really looking forward to learning who the book will focus on after this.

Insane that what I'd consider the weakest issue of the series yet was still very well done. Hardy was not who I thought this was focus on next, though, I thought Aaron wrote his character really well. Latour's art was, especially, a strong point this time around. Based on the solicitation for the next issue, it looks like we're shifting the focus to Esaw? Definitely an interesting move, especially with the first two arcs mainly focusing on one character. Though, I have to say that I'd really like this to get to Earl's daughter soon. She was teased at the end of #4 and #8, but that's it. I feel like this would have been the perfect time to focus on her, but I also can't complain a whole lot when the book is this good.

Yeah, I think Esaw is great as an antagonist. He's insanely annoying, aggressive, and hateful. He's not one that should be sympathized in any way, and that's not what Aaron did here. However, it's a little difficult to have a whole issue focused on him, particularly when there should be little-to-no redeeming qualities about him. So, while I did think this was a good issue, I'd also have to call it my least favorite. Aaron & Latour both do good jobs here, don't get me wrong, but this was the hardest issue thus far for me to get invested in, unfortunately.

I think I've, potentially, finally realized what this arc is really about? On the surface, we've just gotten three standalone issues about characters in Craw County. However, this could end up being about showing all of the things that are going to get in the way of the homecoming game. Two issues ago, Hardy arrests a bunch of the football team and has tensions with Coach Boss. In the last issue, Esaw is supposed to make plays for the team, but is shown to be lacking the knowledge/understanding to do so. Here, we see Boone, essentially, ready to attempt to kill Boss. I've really enjoyed all of these issues on their own, but I'm especially looking forward to seeing how they all come back later on, particularly if what I just said ends up being the case. Oh yeah, this issue was great, by the way. Totally forgot to mention that.

Was definitely intrigued to see Latour on the writing duties for this issue. What we ended up getting was a really good issue, though, it felt like it was on the cusp of greatness and just fell short of that. I think it might have been Tad's dream sequence, as it felt a little out of place for what the series has been for the past eleven issues, and even what it was everywhere else in this issue. That said, I liked the characterization for Materhead, and I'm still really looking forward to seeing what happens at the homecoming game.

Not how I thought the game was going to go. I was pretty sure the Rebs were losing the game, but I thought it was going to bring together the characters we've been focusing on in the last few issues for this big, climactic story...but, it didn't. Though, with how I'm saying all of this, it sounds like I didn't like the book. Well, that'd be wrong, because I really enjoyed it. Coach Boss is such a great antagonist, and I've really liked the way he's been built up by Aaron. Though, an antagonist should really be built up to be, eventually, taken down by a strong protagonist, and we haven't really had one since Earl...and he's been dead since Issue #4. We're gonna need a new one sooner rather than later.

A great introduction for Roberta. Very glad we've finally gotten more of her beyond the two teases, but also that we're getting an actual protagonist for the series again. As in, someone I can actually get behind and "root for," for lack of a better term, rather than appreciate an antagonist having an interesting and well-written story. In any case, I thought Roberta's character was established very nicely here, and I'm looking forward to more of her as the series continues.

Great read, as per usual. Really enjoying a lot of what’s being set up here, though I was hoping we’d continue to follow Roberta more after her formal introduction in the last issue. However, I was still invested in everything we got here. The downfall of Coach Boss appears to be coming, so I’m looking forward to that, along with the role Roberta will likely play in it.

Really strong issue here with Coach Boss’s downfall continuing. He’s crossed a line that even he didn’t want to…just for the game to end in a tie. I suppose it’s better than a loss, but still crazy. A lot of great moments here, but I also can’t help but feel like we need to have some more focus on Roberta already? She was teased at the end of the first two arcs, and the last arc had an entire issue dedicated to finally giving a proper introduction for her. Now two issues removed from that, she was briefly shown in Issue #15 and nowhere to be found in this one? I’m just glad the book is still written incredibly well, but I really want more Roberta sooner rather than later.

One of the book’s weaker issues, but even its weaker issues are really good. Glad we got to see Roberta again, even if it was at the end. Though, it seems that we’ll finally get more of her in the next issue, based on its solicitation. Aside from that, everything else here was really good, as the downfall of Coach Boss continues.

Yeah, this is exactly the type of thing I’ve been wanting. Roberta leading the issue and kicking ass in Craw County. Absolutely love to see it. Really liked seeing more of her past, particularly her relationship with her father, Earl. Very much looking forward to whatever comes next. Such a great book.

This is what I’m talking about right here, man. Right as Coach Boss is turning things around, football-wise, he’s confronted by Roberta, who’s about ready to kill him…just for Boone to show up to kill Boss himself. Incredibly invested right now, and I’m really looking forward to the next issue. Hoping it’s another hit.

Really loved the ending to this arc. Roberta is such a great character, and her message to Coach Boss on the last few pages was just awesome. There’s no other word to describe it. This continues to be such a fantastic book, and I’m really hoping we can get more of it soon.

A great start here, in my opinion. Of course, Acuña puts out some amazing work throughout this. It's always a pleasure to see him doing interiors, as well, so that was very nice. The story was really good here, as well. A lot of establishing characters...just for multiple of them to either be dead or close to it. That's war, though, and I presume that's what this is really going to dive into. The effects and ramifications of war, which I'm really looking forward to seeing Remender's perspective on through this book.

This continued and built upon the greatness of the first issue by flashing back to Milton's past and getting the reader emotionally attached and invested in his character before moving any further in the current story. Really enjoyed how his character was handled throughout this, as he became more grounded as he grew older.

Great, once again, I still think the previous issue was this book's best thus far, but I'm still really into this. I feel like I've seen many other say something similar to this, but I think it's a testament to how good this is that I've never been big into war stories and I'm liking this as much as I am. It definitely helps when you have two guys like Remender & Acuña working on the book, though. In any case, I'm feeling that Milton's ethics/morals/etc. are going to be tested in the next issue, and I'm really looking forward to seeing that, particularly after how he talked about the bats of this land in the first issue.

A fantastic debut issue for this miniseries. This acts as a nice continuation of Ewing's amazing X-Men: Red series, and it was also cool to see Blue Marvel and Taaia from Ewing's Defenders: Beyond miniseries. Back to this issue, though, I know the point of this is to bring back Magneto, but Ewing does another outstanding job of writing Storm here. He truly "gets" the character and I'm always blown away with how great of a job he does writing her. Plus, Vecchio's art was also really nice in this issue and I enjoyed just looking at very page throughout this. All things considered, this looks like another hit from Ewing and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds.

Fantastic. In my review of the previous issue, I wrote about how well Ewing has written Storm throughout X-Men: Red and how well he wrote her in that issue. Here, the sentiment is the same...but for Magneto. Yes, Issue 1 of this series was very much about Storm, despite the title, but in this issue we finally get a lot of focus on Magneto. I really enjoyed his reflections on the people whose deaths he had a hand in, some more than others, and the people whose lives he's saved. Ewing is on fire right now and Vecchio killed it on the art once again.

We only have one issue left for this miniseries and it continues to be awesome. I will say that I didn't quite enjoy this as much as the first two issues, but it was still great. Vecchio's art is still pretty good, but it's truly Ewing's writing where this shines the most. I think he balances Magneto and Storm well throughout this, and he also manages to write the both of them very well. All I can say is that I hope Issue 4 sticks the landing. Knowing Ewing, though, it definitely will.

This was, unfortunately, my least favorite issue of the series. That said, it was still very good. Vecchio's art continues to be incredibly clean. As for Ewing, I did find this particular issue to be a little overwritten at times, specifically with some of the dialogue, but I still really enjoyed this one. It would have been nice if this felt more like an ending, as well, and not as much of a story continuing in Gerry Duggan's Invincible Iron Man series.

Really enjoyed this start. With the first batch of Next Level first issues falling slightly short of expectations, this was really refreshing. Not that those books were bad, but I was hoping for more with all of the hype around DC right now. In any case, this was really good. I'm very interested by what Lemire is cooking up here, with the religious allegory, Ronnie being trapped in a silver age-esque world, and the Firestorm Matrix, seemingly, becoming sentient. Latorre's art only makes it better, as I found it fitting very well with the setting and tone of the book. Really looking forward to more from this, and I'm super excited to have not just a Firestorm solo book on shelves again, but to have, so far, a great one.

This didn't quite pack the punch the first issue did for me, but I still really enjoyed it. A lot of it is a revised origin for Firestorm, but I thought it was written pretty well, and I did like the dynamic we got between Ronnie and Martin. Furthermore, Latorre's art continues to be incredibly clean here, and I'm really glad he's the person drawing this book. That said, really looking forward to #3.

Man, I feel so vindicated after talking with people who doubted Lemire on Firestorm, because this just continues to rock. I just really love what Lemire is doing here, man. The backstory with Martin and how he manipulated Ronnie, I thought, was the best part of this. Also, very glad to see Jason get something to do here. Oh yeah, and Firestorm just making light work of multiple Justice League members was just great. Latorre continues to do amazing work throughout this book, as well. This is definitely my favorite Next Level book right now and I'm so giddy about it.

Unfortunately, the weakest issue thus far. Fortunately, however, the series has been so great up until this point that this was still really good. This does feel like something that could have been a bit more condensed, but I'm not mad at what we got at all. Latorre continues to be great on the interiors, and I loved a lot of the shots throughout this. I'm just hoping this picks back up a bit with the next issue.

As soon as I saw the creative team for this book, I knew I needed to check this one out. Hickman wasn't someone I would initially think of as a Spider-Man writer, but I've liked everything I've read from him in the past. As for Checchetto, I knew from the get-go that he would be a great fit for any Spider-Man title. Luckily, the team of Hickman and Checchetto wholeheartedly knocked it out of the park with this debut. Yes, it's a fairly slow-paced book, but Hickman writes it so incredibly well that you can't help but keep reading. I really enjoyed all of the twists and differences from the main, 616 continuity. As Afre pointed out in their review, Ben being alive and Jonah being more friendly to Peter are both super intriguing ideas for this series. Plus, the big difference of having Peter actually choose to become Spider-Man was another fantastic one. I also can't end this review without bringing up Checchetto. He absolutely killed it here, as every page just looked gorgeous. From the first page of this, I knew something special was ahead. All things considered, my hopes are very high for this series, and rightfully so after a truly stellar first issue.

Two-for-two on great issues. This didn't quite pack the same punch as Issue 1, but I didn't expect it to and it didn't even necessarily need to. I thought this was a super fun first adventure, of sorts, for Peter in this universe. I think it was filled to the brim with great writing and character interactions, specifically. Plus, Checchetto kills it again here to the surprise of absolutely nobody.

I may be overrating this a little bit, but this was another issue that I really enjoyed. It's the weakest one of the series thus far for me, but that's saying a lot when I'm giving it a 9/10. Everything here is just so simple and great at the same time. Hickman does a really good job of writing Peter as extremely likable when he's in the suit and out of it. I also found the ending of this to be very intriguing and well-executed. All things considered, I did see this more as a setup issue for things to come down the line, but I still really enjoyed it.

Good stuff once again. Messina's art can be a tad bit distracting at times, but it doesn't drag things down here for me or anything. The story is the true highlight here, though. Hickman gives this issue a rather slower pace in order to focus on the character interactions, mainly between Peter, MJ, Harry, and the newly introduced Gwen. I'm really looking forward to seeing all four of these characters interact more as the series continues.

I know this book is called "Ultimate Spider-Man," but I really appreciate Hickman diving in on Harry's recent past to give us a lot more context on where he's coming from. Messina did a better job here with his interiors as well, in my opinion. Not that he did bad in the last issue, but I just think his art worked even better this time around.

Okay, listen. I understand the criticisms about MJ and Richard's sudden acceptance of Peter being Spider-Man. As a matter of fact, I, somewhat, agree as well. Richard seemed a bit troubled or concerned, but I have a feeling that we'll revisit that at some point. As for MJ, I'm not sure there. I'd like to have faith that there's a bigger reason for how well she took this, considering it's Hickman, but I'm unsure currently. All of that said, I still really enjoyed this. Especially the dynamics between Peter, Harry, and Wilson. That was just a lot of fun, man. I was super stoked to see Checchetto back on the interiors, as well.

This continues to be my favorite in the line, unsurprisingly. Checchetto keeps on killing it, and Hickman is still doing great stuff. A lot of super interesting stuff. I'm definitely looking forward to Kingpin's next move, and I really liked the dynamic between Peter and Harry once again. I'm very intrigued to see if Harry having his father's voice in his suit has a larger impact on him as things progress. I like Peter having his own voice in his suit, as well.

Another really good issue that does an especially nice job of world-building towards the end. I was super intrigued by Kingpin's Sinister Six, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them more in this run. Tony's meeting with Peter and Harry was definitely a highlight for this issue, as well.

Great stuff, once again. Checchetto kills it on his front, as per usual, and Hickman continues to bring about interesting developments. The most interesting, this time, is the dynamic between Peter and Harry. I'm definitely getting the sense that we're going to see some stronger tension between them at some point, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how that plays out. Aside from that, everything else continues to be well-written.

Slower pacing here, but still very good. I can't complain about the titular character not being featured a whole lot when we get writing like this. It was nice to see Ben and Jonah's investigation get some focus here after it was initially introduced back in the first issue. Their meeting with Harry was, arguably, the best part of this, as well. Just really nice stuff here overall.

A really misleading cover, but that's almost common practice when it comes to comics. Inside of the book, though, was some really great stuff. I was nice to see Peter actually doing normal Spider-Man stuff, and Hickman wrote that extremely well. As expected, he has a perfect grasp on the character. Furthermore, I'm really glad we got some follow-up to Mary Jane being, seemingly at the time, completely fine with Peter being Spider-Man. To top it all off, we got a very well-written conversation between Peter and Ben towards the end that left things off on a super intriguing note. Oh yeah, and those few pages for the Sinister Sex were cool, as well.

An absolutely crazy ending. I had to go back and re-read to actually notice that Peter had not said a word the entire issue. I know Mary Jane was talking to him and she resolved things on her own, but I just thought that was a funny character moment for her. Good lord, man. Maybe I'm just riding the high of that ending and noticing all of the little hints of build to it (The two quote pages were wonderful, by the way), but this was my second-favorite issue of the book so far, only coming up short behind #1.

Great start to the second year of the series. With the first year all said and done, I think this tops my ranking list for the Ultimate line. It's a lot of character work, but it's all really, really good. Checchetto is killing it here, as well. I'm super intrigued to see what happens with Richard and (I'm assuming?) Felicia after the ending of this.

Good stuff here with really nice art from Checchetto. Kind of a major spoiler here, but I was a little shocked to see Harry die in this issue. Although, I'm hoping he's not really dad (somehow?), as I feel there's more to be done with his character and it might be a little bit of a wasted opportunity to get rid of him at this point.

Super cool stuff here. Yes, you're going to be disappointed if you wanted a Peter-focused issue, which I especially understand considering the book's title. That said, this was a really intriguing dive into Gwen's past and her story in becoming Mysterio (Technically, one of the Mysterios, I guess?). Furthermore, this was accompanied by Checchetto's always great interiors. Really good stuff all around.

Another one of this run's weaker issues, unfortunately. That said, this book has been so great, overall, that I'm still rating the weaker issues relatively high. Felicia double-crossing Richard wasn't something I was particularly surprised by, but I did like it for the story. Of course that would happen to him. He's just a kid. Aside from that, I liked the stuff with the Mysterios. Although, I will agree with the criticisms of how Hickman's written Mary Jane, to an extent. I do wish she had more dimensionality with her character, as it can feel as though she's just going along with whatever Peter is doing and/or wants to do.

Yes, finally. Mary Jane finally shows some sort of distress about what's been going on over the course of this book. Not just with Peter, but with Richard recently, as well. Super glad we finally got that from here, as I feel like it wouldn't have made much sense otherwise. I liked everything else quite a bit, also. Particularly Peter's interaction with Mole Man and Richard's suit basically...becoming Venom? It makes sense, particularly considering his encounter with 616's Miles Morales over in Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion, but it was still crazy to see.

I liked it a lot as a single issue, but we really need to get going, particularly considering that this is ending in four issues. It feels like so much has been introduced and built without enough time to get it all wrapped up by the time #24 hits stands. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I have a feeling I won't be, unfortunately. In any case, while Messina's art wasn't my favorite here, I did largely like Hickman's writing.

...Wow. This was absolutely stellar. Moore crafted this story perfectly, in my opinion. While the last issue was, technically, Moore's first on the title, I'm under the belief that it was purely just wrapping up everything that happened in #1-19. With that said, this was just an awesome "first issue" for Moore's run. Great suspenseful horror throughout and it just continued to get better and better. I can't finish without mentioning the interiors from Bissette. They just complimented Moore's story greatly, in my eyes. Really looking forward to what's to come if this is how we're starting out.

I wasn't as enthralled with this issue as I was with the last one, unfortunately. Though, this was still really good. Swamp Thing struggles with his humanity after the revelation he was faced with in the previous issue, and I thought it was well-done. I appreciated the different art style in his dream sequences, for lack of a better term. Everything else here was good, as well, particularly with Woodrue. However, the stuff with Swamp Thing was what stood out, to me.

Another super interesting issue here that finally brings Swamp Thing and Woodrue together by the end. Woodrue was going absolutely nuts in this issue, man. The stuff with Swamp Thing exploring the Green was intriguing as well, and I'm hoping to learn more during this run. Looking forward to the confrontation between Swamp Thing and Woodrue, as well as the Justice League showing up in the next issue.

Absolutely great. Second-favorite issue thus far right here. Swamp Thing is the titular character, of course, and Moore writes him greatly, but I especially enjoyed the way he handled Woodrue. Woodrue comes across as something of a false prophet, in regards to the Green, which is something I really loved about this issue. Furthermore, Swamp Thing combatting his ideology and outlook on things was written both simply and effectively simultaneously. Awesome stuff from this series once again.

Great start to this new storyline. Very disturbing stuff, particularly with how Paul and the Monkey King came together, as well as Jason interaction with Harry and the former's prediction/warning/etc. coming to fruition. Really looking forward to Jason, and mos likely Etrigan, being involved with this series.

My least favorite issue of the series so far, but still pretty good. I like to think of this as a testament to the quality of Moore's run when I've labeled this what I have and I'm still giving it a fairly high rating. With that said, yeah, this was still intriguing. Great interiors from Bissette, and I especially liked how he drew Etrigan. Hoping for a strong ending to this arc.

I was sitting at an 8.5 for this, but I really enjoyed that last interaction between Swamp Thing and Paul. Crazy interiors from Bissette here, specifically with the more action-centric moments. Etrigan, in particular, looked gnarly. Really glad that I liked this more than the previous issue. Moore & Bissette are a fantastic duo.

A great one-shot story here. McManus does a solid job filling in here, but he doesn't match Stephen Bissette, unfortunately. In any case, Moore's story here is what shined above all else. Really loved seeing Swamp Thing trying to put Alec to rest throughout this one. Just really, really good.

For me, a comic book seems like a hard medium to do good/effective horror in. With movies and television, you can rely on sound and even jump-scares. However, neither of those have the the same level of effect as they do in comics, in my opinion. That said, Moore & Bissette put something together here that, genuinely, made my skin crawl. Hats off, because this was really good.

Wasn't super duper huge on how long Arcane talked for, but I did like it overall. I did highly appreciate how well Arcane was built up throughout it, I have to say. Though, I felt this really picked up when Swamp Thing showed up in the second half, and the ending to this was great.

Am I bumping this up to a 9.0 because of the ending? Maybe. In all seriousness, this was another really good read. Swamp Thing leading Arcane to his own demise was, genuinely, great. Gave him the ol' one-two and absolutely rocked him. That ending, though, was great. Need follow-up on that immediately.

I was ready for this to be a bump in the road for Moore's run at the start of this...however, this ended up being a another great read. Yes, it can definitely take a bit to get into this with the way the critters speak, but I got more and more used to it as time went on, and I was able to better understand what was being said after a minute. Aside from that, this was a really bittersweet story with a great theme of still holding out hope for a better world, even if the one you're on appears to be doomed, for lack of a better term.

Really loved this one. An utterly fascinating issue here, depicting DC's complex version of "afterlife." Bissette absolutely killed it (no pun intended) on the interiors here. Nobody can nail Swamp Thing quite like he does. Additionally, Moore provides a highly-interesting story here, making use of a bunch of underrated/underutilized DC characters like Deadman and Spectre, among others. Furthermore, we get a taste of how the afterlife works in this universe, along with the sight of Arcane's fate after the end of his arc. By the way, his current situation is just diabolical in the best way possible.

Did this issue use multiple pages to reprint the story with Swamp Thing's first appearance (House of Secrets #92)? Yeah, sure, whatever, but I still loved this issue. It wasn't reprinted just to reprint it, though. I really enjoyed how Moore tied it to our overarching protagonist and current Swamp Thing, Alec. The brothers were entertaining here, also. However, the ending was one of my favorite parts, if not my absolute favorite part, of the issue. Really great.

Really great issue here showing the deep emotional connection between Swamp Thing and Abby. Sure, you could call it their version of having sex, but I thought it was much more than that and I really enjoyed it overall. Some really nice art from Bissette, as per usual, along with some great prose from Moore, in my opinion.

A fairly slow issue in terms of story, but still one that I liked overall. While this may not have been my absolute favorite issue, I do sense a lot of potential with what was presented here, so I hope that what Moore & Bissette have cooking after this ends up realizing said potential. Nukeface is certainly an intriguing character, to say the least.

An interesting approach with this issue, as the main character shifts around every so often. I liked how the stories intersected with one another and came back to central points. That said, I do have to say, even though I did like this a pretty fair amount (hence my rating), this was one of the weaker issues of Moore's run thus far. I totally don't mind this level of quality because, as I already said, it's a good book that I enjoy. However, as good as it may be, it's not reaching the levels of greatness it was previously.

Back to greatness with this issue here, especially with the introduction of John Constantine. Really looking forward to seeing more of him in this series. Although, his appearance is, seemingly, going to lead to tension between Swamp Thing and Abby, which...sucks. Nothing against the story whatsoever. It's only that they just got into a really good place with each other. That said, I'm still very invested in this book, as it continues to be a fantastic run.

A super creepy issue here, particularly when it was focusing on the kids who went into the water. Also, I love how Moore continues to bring back ideas and such from stories before his time on the title, as we got that here with the return of Rosewood. Additionally, Woch did a really nice job filling in here, as I thought his style fit right in with the series.

One of the best issues thus far. Great horror, as Moore has shown he can do in the past. Though, it doesn't hurt in the slightest that Bissette is just a master of the craft. I continue to just love the way he draws Swamp Thing, and I also really liked the way he drew Nicky as a vampire here.

Incredibly tragic. Bissette still does impeccable work here and this issue wouldn't be the same without him. The scene where Phoebe transforms was drawn horrifically by him in the best way possible. That said, this was a beautifully-written issue on Moore's part. Really loved the women-centric themes and symbolism throughout this, in particular. Just outstanding.

Oh...wow. That was actually crazy. Really loved this one, especially with how it came full circle to the dialogue at the beginning of the issue. Seeing the show set gradually transform the actors, presumably, into their roles for the show was super freaky. Moore is just so good at horror, man.

Not as good of a second half as I was hoping for, particularly with how great the previous issue was. That said, though, this was still really good. Moore still did a really nice job here creating an unsettling environment with emotional undertones. However, the former can only have its full effect with a great artist, and that's exactly what we have here. Bissette remains fantastic on the art duties. He makes everything so haunting and chilling. What a guy.

A great issue here that goes into the potential experiences for people using hallucinogenic drugs. I really liked seeing two different sides of the spectrum throughout this, as I've heard stories of experiences that align with both sides. I also really liked the ending with Chester facing an internal struggle, as to whether or not he should consume the "drug" or not himself. All of that said, this is an issue that might not work as well depending on the artist. Luckily, Woch does a great job filling in on the interiors throughout this. He really made the visuals work incredibly well here.

Great stuff with this title, as per usual. Some really cool and horrific art from Bissette throughout this, which I really loved. The story was really good here, as well. Swamp Thing taking out a serial killer was just fantastic to read.

Really spooky stuff, which is a common occurrence for this book. Not as strong as a lot of what's come before it, in my opinion, but still really good overall. Woch does a really nice job with the interiors throughout this, as his work didn't feel out of place with this title whatsoever.

A great prelude, of sorts, for what feels like something big up ahead. I think Moore did a great job of making it feel like something really important is coming up, and I'm really looking forward to it. With the 50th issue of the volume coming up, the stars feel like they're aligning for something truly epic.

Fantastic stuff. Swamp Thing finally going where he believes he needs to in order to get answers...only to be shut out by the beings he can identify with and cast out of the place that felt most like home to him. Heartbreaking for him, but the metaphysical journey to that point was very intriguing. Woch did a really great job with the interiors here. Some awesome shots of Swamp Thing and of the environment in general.

A twist on the road to the conclusion of, potentially, the biggest-stakes story of Moore's run yet. Not something I saw coming whatsoever, but I thought this was another great issue. Judith's transformation into a bird was incredibly unsettling, which is something Moore has shown time and time again that he can write very well. Totleben only makes it more terrifying with his interiors, as well. Swamp Thing choosing to save Constantine instead of going after the Brujería was really good, also, even if it screws up things for the two of them.

A great lead-in issue as we approach the all-important #50. Nice to see everyone being recruited for what's sure to be an epic story. Moore continues to make the stakes in this storyline feel incredibly high, which I appreciate very much. Additionally, Woch does another really good job on the interiors. That said, I'm very much looking forward to Stephen Bissette's return in the next issue.

A fantastic analysis of good and evil. Moore once again proves just how masterful he is with this issue. Really liked that, in the battle between these two forces, there isn't a clear winner. Furthermore, the two "ideas" almost depend on the other in a strange state of coexistence. What a great run this has been.

A great read following the momentous events of the previous issue. Veitch does a really nice job on the interiors, showing again that his style fits well within the tone and setting established over the course of Moore's run on the character. Speaking of Moore, I really liked how he handled both Abigail and Swamp Thing here. Not because I like what's happening to Abigail, but because it feels very real, which is highly unfortunate. As for the titular character, Moore did a fantastic job building to him losing it by the end. Really looking forward to the next issue.

Hell yeah, dude. This issue absolutely rocked. One of the best of the run. Swamp Thing's rage was built so well in the previous issue and Moore delivered on that build here. His confrontation with the people in the courtroom in Gotham was just outstanding stuff. Also, Batman showing up at the end is sure to make way for a very interesting story in the next issue. Man, I love this book.

Another fantastic read. Totleben does an amazing job throughout this issue, and Moore crafts yet another outstanding story. Batman eventually standing up for Swamp Thing and his cause was great to see. I'm running out of compliments for this run, honestly. I will say, though, that this arc and the previous arc have been the most consistently amazing the run has been.

A great issue coming out of the emotional ending of the previous. That said, this was a well-written depiction of gaslighting and manipulation within abusive relationships. Moore just made Liz's situation so haunting, particularly with the realization of just how much Dennis lied to her to gain control and power over her. Good lord, man.

I could give this a perfect score solely based on the first panel, but, luckily, the rest of the issue was amazing, as well. Moore does an outstanding job of writing Abigail here. Her mourning and her pain can, genuinely, be felt through the pages. I haven't really cried much from reading a comic, but this is one of the few issues that made me tear up a little. Just impeccable work here.

Really, really good follow-up on the tease at the end of the previous issue. Swamp Thing creating the detailed illusion of Abigail and the environment around them, but still not being able to get Abigail's smile quite right, was just great. Moore continues to do an outstanding job with the scripts, and Veitch is still doing really nice work on the interiors.

Probably the weakest issue of the series here, unfortunately. Though, it's still a good read. I would have liked a little more focus on Swamp Thing, but I liked what Moore did with Adam Strange here. Also, Veitch did a nice job with the interiors, as per usual. Still looking forward to what's next.

Similar feelings here to the last issue, although I do prefer this one overall. I was so ready for another few pages only in Thanagarian, but thank the heavens that the English came back within the same page. I think books should definitely include other languages like this...but, it should be translated into English with the note that it's being translated from another language. Especially considering that Thanagarian, as far as I know, isn't a real language that can be easily translated with a relatively simple internet search.

Slightly shocking since this was written by Bissette and not Moore (although, he does have a story credit here), but this was better than the last two issues, in my opinion. I liked the focus on Abigail since we haven't been able to see her, given Swamp Thing's current situation, and I also appreciated the information about her father here. In any case, a nice showing for Bissette on the scripts here and I'm hoping Swamp Thing and Abigail can be reunited soon.

Very...very weird. I think the way this was formatted hurt this a bit, for me. From what I gathered about the story and the overall concept, I feel as though I would have liked it better had it been a little more traditionally written. In any case, I always appreciate the effort(s) of doing something different. Not sure why it was needed for the ongoing story in the series, but I liked it as a standalone story nonetheless.

Really solid, but not up to the standards set by a lot of the previous issues in Moore's run. This was a little too much for me, even though I did find the concept of Swamp Thing forming his body with sentient plants rather than the non-sentient ones he's accustomed to using. In any case, a good read on its own, but a little underwhelming when looking at the rest of the series.

Veitch takes over the writing duties for this issue and...writes like Alan Moore. Not a bad thing whatsoever, but just kind of funny to me. Anyways, yeah, this was another cosmic-heavy issue with a lot of writing that was a little confusing at times. I liked what I read here, but I really hope things pick up a little bit soon. These last few issues have been the weakest section of Moore's run thus far.

Finally back to more proper form with this issue. It's a shame that the book is only doing so with just one more issue to go in Moore's run. In any case, a very satisfying issue considering the storyline we got leading up to Swamp Thing's "death." Swamp Thing, basically, terrorizing and killing the people behind is assassination was great, as was the final page. Really looking forward to the next issue,

A beautiful ending for Moore's run on Swamp Thing. The last few issues haven't been the strongest, but this really ended things on a high note. It was super cool to have Bissette back on some interiors here, and I really just loved the way Moore wrote this. Very introspective for Swamp Thing, especially. The last few pages were fantastic, as well. Just amazing stuff. A great way to end an absolutely stellar run.

This wasn't as great as House of X #1, but it was still a fairly strong debut issue. This feels a lot more complex and complicated than House of X, but it's still pretty intriguing. With the introduction of Krakoa seeming to be very promising, we go into the future to see a grim future for the X-Men, which is something they aren't all that unfamiliar with. All things considered, this was good stuff.

I was sitting on an 8.5/10, or maybe even an 8.0/10 for this one. However, that ending was pretty crazy. That's if I understood everything correctly, though. I don't think of myself as being incredibly intelligent or anything, but I also like to think that I'm far from stupid. That said, this series is a little confusing for me at times. Not with the timelines, but more with the higher concepts. After reading this, I think the idea presented of the different levels of planetary societies is super intriguing and it gives way to a super ominous ending to this issue. I'm looking forward to what comes of it in the next issue.

Oh, wow, this really come together nicely. Initially, I highly preferred House of X to this series, but this ended up being great as well. I know this is only the halfway point for this series, but it's still a damn good issue. Silva was the best he's been in this miniseries, and Hickman wrote everything nicely. This truly feels like a huge moment and I'm really looking forward to what the second half of this book has in store.

After the highs of the previous issue, I have to say that I'm a little disappointed by this one. However, this was still a good read. The back half when things focused on the future was just a bit too confusing for me, but I definitely liked what we got before that. Hopefully this miniseries can get back on track, even if it's not even bad whatsoever here.

Another really enjoyable issue. I particularly liked the stuff more in the "present" as Emma is approached by Charles and Magneto, as well as the introduction of the Quiet Council concept. The, sort of, information dump regarding Dominions in the future was interesting as well, but I haven't always found this series the most engaging when it focuses on said future. With one issue of this miniseries left and two left including House of X #6, all I hope is that the landing is stuck.

Powers of X saved its best issue for last. This does a really awesome job of taking House of X's ending and recontextualizing it with an ending that's a bit more ominous than previously thought, which isn't a bad thing at all. As a matter of fact, it makes things a lot more interesting going forward. Regarding the issue as a whole, it was just amazing. The twist in the future was executed very well, in my opinion, and I really enjoyed what we got in the present with Moira, Charles, and Erik. All things considered, both House of X & Powers of X are great reads that truly usher in a new era for the X-Men that seems to possess limitless potential. Damn good stuff here.

I've been waiting for this book to come out for a while now, and it didn't disappoint. Really loved the themes of this, in particular, and I'm very much looking forward to those being explored further as the series continues. Though, as much as I can talk about how good the writing is, something more interesting that's a bit more easily visible here is the formatting of this book. The majority of it isn't presented like a standard comic, in that quite a few pages of the first half, or so, of this are formatted more as Mar's journals that feature panels of art along with them. This is where Otsmane-Elhaou gets to show off how great of a letterer he is. When it came to Mar's handwriting, I thought he did a fantastic job of making it feel authentic not just to how a human would write, but how a human Mar's age (at the time of each entry) would write. Additionally, I can't get through with this without mentioning Bergara, who delivers some really good interiors here. He really gets to shine more in the second half of the book, as that's where this becomes more and more like a standard comic, and he puts out some strong work. All things considered, I'm very much looking forward to Issue #2.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect with this one, but I'm really happy with what we got. Wyn is already a great protagonist that's likable from the start. Aiko and Dimitri are really good characters as well. Dimitri is a fun sidekick, and I really enjoyed the conversation between Aiko and Wyn in the bar. I'm really looking forward to more content involving the two of them. This was just a really nice introduction to this new section of the Marvel Universe and I can't wait to see what comes next. I sense big things coming with this series.

Another really good read. I will say that this is just barely a 9/10 for me, as this took just a little too long to get as interesting as it ended up being. That said, this got the most intriguing when focusing on Aiko and the new character, Mia. I liked the other stuff with Wyn, Doctor Strange, and Cubisk Core as well, but I just wasn't as into it as the Aiko/Mia section of the book and the first issue as a whole. Either way, this series continues to have me hooked and I just really enjoy what Hickman and Schiti are putting together here.

This was my least favorite issue so far, but I still really enjoyed it. Oblivion is definitely a character I want to see more of and I get the sense we will with how this issue ended. Hickman is building a highly intriguing universe and the inclusion of her and even Amelia continue to create an awesome foundation. Plus, Schiti's art continues to be very nice.

A super interesting issue here. Schiti's art continues to be great, and I'm still really enjoying the world that Hickman is building here. I think he told a really good origin story to start this issue off with Robert. I'm very interested to see what happens the next time Wyn and Aiko see each other, considering the confrontation they were about to have in this issue.

A really fun issue with a bit of a crazy ending, in my opinion. I've been loving this series and this issue was no different. I enjoyed the dynamic between Wyn and Maria here, as I think Hickman wrote both characters well. This is very much a self-contained story with a bit of overarching plot sprinkled in, and it's my favorite issue yet.

Another great read for this series. I definitely think it could have been better, but I can't complain too much with how much I enjoyed what we ended up getting. Schiti continues to be a great fit for this book, and Hickman is just doing his thing here. That's probably the best way I can describe this, honestly.

A bit more self-contained, but still great. Really cool to see Dimitri get a lot of focus here, even if it's happening right before the end of the book. Speaking of which, it would have been really nice if this were an ongoing. If it being eight issues only was the plan, that's great, but I also feel like there's so much to cover in #8.

Yes, it was great, but I'm pretty bummed that we, likely, won't get much of a follow-up to this series. I think we could definitely see, at least some of, these characters pop up again somewhere in the Marvel Universe at some point, but I can't help but doubt that we'll get another full-fledged series for them, at least not for a long time. It's really a shame, as this was pretty consistently an awesome book, with this issue being no different.

This was a really strong debut for this series. I wasn't sure what to think going into this after seeing the previews, but I knew I had to check it out with Ewing writing it AND with the "Immortal" tagline. As you can see by my score, I'm glad I did. I wasn't a big fan of Ewing bringing back the classic costume, but the story and the art here were both fantastic. Cóccolo's art is really good here and looks so smooth throughout. Moving back to Ewing, he does an outstanding job of using this issue to introduce Thor to new readers while also giving older readers enough to be entertained and interested. Overall, Ewing has definitely sold me on this series and gotten me to come along for the ride. I can't wait to see what's to come.

We're two-for-two with this series, as I really enjoyed this issue. It didn't quite pack the same punch as Issue 1, but it was still well-written and I really enjoyed reading Thor's thoughts throughout the entirety of this. The ending here was super interesting as well, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing what comes of this confrontation with Loki. Plus, Cóccolo's art is once again super clean and just fantastic overall. I'm loving this run so far.

This title continues to be really well-written and well-drawn with the third issue. Cóccolo's art is just so clean and it does nothing but make every page better. I hope he doesn't leave this title anytime soon. As for Ewing, he definitely has a case for being one of the best writers Marvel has right now. This run and his current X-Men: Red series have both been great, and I'm planning on checking out his current Venom run with Ram V. and Torunn Grønbekk very soon. Back to this issue, I think both Thor and Loki are written very nicely here. Thor is forced to challenge himself in order to solve Loki's riddle, which was entertaining, and I really enjoyed how this was done as way for Loki to help Thor prepare for Toranos. Plus, I'm super excited to see Storm coming into this. I mentioned Ewing's X-Men: Red run earlier, and he's written Storm fantastically in that. I have no doubts this will continue to be the case when she inevitably shows up.

Great issue to set up the Thor Corps in the next one. I was super excited about this team when I saw the cover for Issue 5 in the solicitations. I'm especially excited for Bill, as he's one of my favorite Marvel characters, if not my absolute favorite. I've been waiting for him to get some spotlight ever since Daniel Warren Johnson's fantastic miniseries with him in 2021. All things considered, I'm really looking forward to seeing this awesome team face Toranos in the next issue. Cóccolo's art made Toranos and everyone else just look great, as per usual. Plus, those last two pages were extremely interesting.

Not really what I was expecting, but still an awesome issue. I particularly loved how Thor beat Toranos here. Cóccolo also continues to put out some fantastic art in this issue. I don't really have much to say about this one, other than that I really enjoyed it and that Ewing is definitely one of the best writers at Marvel right now, if not the very best.

A really cool issue detailing an early adventure of Thor and Loki. I really liked the approach to the story with Loki re-telling the story to Thor in the present, along with the added touch of some of their current dialogue being incorporated into the story. Plus, I'm really interested by how this issue started and ended. The recent announcement of the Roxxon Thor storyline is definitely intriguing and I'm looking forward to seeing how this story continues to build in the next few issues.

I didn't enjoy this as the rest of the series thus far, but it was still a pretty good issue. It's hard for me to not like something Ewing wrote. I thought the dynamic between Thor and Loki was fun and written well overall. I'm also really looking forward to this Roxxon story with the Minotaur, Enchantress, and Skurge that's been teased for a while now.

A really good issue as we really start to delve into the Roxxon storyline a bit. It doesn't happen until the final few pages of the book, but everything before it was great and I continue to be excited for this storyline. The dialogue between Thor and Gaea was relatively long, but just about everything worked well. Ewing is the man.

A great first issue. This gives new readers a nice introduction to Moon Knight as a character, while also giving enough story development for those who are already familiar. Wade's character is re-established here, along with multiple other characters for the future (Reese, Dr. Badr, the unnamed villain, and Dr. Sterman). Along with the story, Cappuccio's art is absolutely fantastic.

Very well-done second issue. This is the one that got me hooked on this series. Despite not having much focus on Reese, there was enough here that showed her still adjusting and developing to her condition. As for Marc, he was absolutely fantastic in this issue. This issue works well with the previous, in that in continues to introduce new readers, and remind returning ones, just who Moon Knight really is. The look into Marc's mind was just great, and the tease at the end was good as well. Plus, Cappuccio once again does the lord's work with his art.

Three issues in and this series is still really good. Cappuccio's art continues to be absolutely stellar, and the story is still intriguing with the introduction of Hunter's Moon. There's a lot of action in this issue, but it's nicely balanced by the dialogue between Moon Knight and Hunter's Moon. One other aspect of this book I liked was the interaction towards the beginning between Mr. Knight and Reese. It was just nicely done and I liked that it established that vampires don't always equal evil.

Yeah, this was awesome. Everything here is just so damn good. Honestly, I was sitting on a 9.0 for the majority of this issue, but then we got Moon Knight's confrontation with Clarke towards the end that boosted this up to 9.5 for me. If that wasn't enough, we got the very nicely done conversation between Marc and Greer. I wasn't expecting things to get that deep so quickly, but it was just super well-done and JUST pushed this up to a 10 for me. This has quickly become one of my favorite series, if not my absolute favorite series, currently out there.

This was another really strong issue for this series. This issue was basically two halves going back and forth, with one being Marc's therapy session and the other being him investigating and trying to find Soldier. Luckily, both of these were great and very interesting. The therapy sections of this book have all been very well-written, and this was no exception. MacKay has really been exploring Marc's character deeply and effectively, which is also seen in the aforementioned second half. Learning Soldier used to work for Hydra was interesting and sets up an intriguing story for him later on. Plus, the twist of Terry being Zodiac was great and we have a good villain set up for the future of this run.

This was another well-written issue for the series. This time, we're given a lot more backstory on Dr. Badr, which was very intriguing. Learning about his upbringing, how he became Hunter's Moon, and how his beliefs have been challenged recently was just great. Plus, Cappuccio's art was amazing as usual. The first six issues are now over and done with, and they were all very enjoyable.

Another really good issue for the series. Marc continues to be absolutely badass, and this is seen particularly in his confrontation with 8-Ball. I enjoyed seeing him fight with multiple different villains while attempting to learn more about Zodiac and, while I am really missing Alessandro Cappuccio's art here, Sabbatini's art isn't bad and it fits in with Moon Knight. I'm looking forward to where this Zodiac story goes, because so far it has just been very entertaining.

This was a really good issue, which is a little surprising due to this being a issue solely focused on Hunter's Moon. That's not to say I think he's a bad character or anything, because I've actually really been enjoying him so far in this series. However, my "shock" comes from the fact that this is the first time Badr has been given the spotlight to himself for a whole issue and I just wasn't sure whether or not his character would be capable of leading an issue. I should have known he'd be able to, especially with Jed MacKay writing the scripts. Like the rest of the run thus far, this was very well-written and is another showcase of why MacKay has quickly become one of my favorite current writers, if not my absolute favorite.

Time after time, I just continue to absolutely love this series. The new building for the Midnight Mission is such a weird idea, but it makes complete sense and it's just great. Also, it seems that Dr. Sterman is acting a little weird after her encounter with Zodiac at the end of Issue 7. I'm looking forward to seeing where that part of the plot goes, along with the entire Zodiac storyline goes as a whole.

Good lord this was one of the best issues yet, if not THE best. The story with Rutherford was interesting and just another reminder of how intelligent Marc is. Plus, the stuff with Marc and Dr. Sterman/Waxman was just incredibly well-written. Waxman is trying to make Marc believe he's Dr. Sterman, but he didn't know enough to maintain the facade. Then, you have the absolutely brutal ending and the ominous tease of what's to come. On top of the outstanding scripts, Cappuccio's art just never misses and is a perfect fit for this series. Jed MacKay and Alessandro Cappuccio are an absolute dream team and I hope they stay on this book forever.

This is my absolute favorite comic coming out right now, HANDS DOWN. Zodiac is such a great villain, and I think he fits in so well going against Moon Knight. As for Marc, he continues to just be a super well-written character, thanks to MacKay. The story that's been building has be great, and now it feels like we're at the climax. Marc's determination to save Dr. Sterman, his conversation with Greer, and his desperation to get to Reese are all just fantastic. Cappuccio's art is beautiful as well, which is always the case at this point, and it particularly shines on the pages with Khonshu.

While the ending isn't quite what I expected, I'm very interested to see what happens with the alternate personalities finally being introduced in this run. Steven Grant and Jake Lockley are the biggest aspect of Moon Knight that was missing in this run, and I'm excited that they're finally here. Their absence didn't make the series bad by any means, but it's such a notable part of the character that I thought they would have appeared at this point. Nonetheless, another great issue from the incredible duo of MacKay and Cappuccio. As always, I need more Moon Knight content from them.

This is probably the most I've liked Sabbatini's art in this run yet. It's very hard to substitute for Alessandro Cappuccio, but Sabbatini does good here. As for MacKay's writing, it's great as usual. Marc wasn't in the issue all that much, but he didn't need to be for the story being told. Taskmaster has become one of my favorite recurring villains in Marvel, and he's used to great effect here in helping establish how dangerous Moon Knight is to the Tutor. As for the final page, I'm very excited to see where things go with Marc, Steven, and Jake all being featured in the book. While this was a bit of a change of pace from how the series has been thus far, I think it's completely understandable considering how the past few issues have been.

If you've read any of my previous reviews for this series, you should already know how glad I am to see Cappuccio back on the art duties after his break last issue. As for the story, it's incredibly put together. The conversation between Marc, Steven, and Jake was already something I was looking forward to due to MacKay's talents in writing, but he adds to it by having a battle with Nemean and Grand Mal occur at the same time. If that wasn't enough, tying it into the internal discussion happening throughout the book was just great. I really like that Marc is accepting the help of others and I thought that him acknowledging Reese as the person he wants to be was a very nice touch.

I was sitting on a solid 8.5 for what was a fun and well-written issue, but then we got Marc and Reese's conversation and embrace at the end of the book. Over the course of this series, Reese has possibly become my favorite supporting character in this series and I'm glad to see her and Marc have a moment like that was just so heartwarming. MacKay and Cappuccio are magic.

This wasn't my favorite issue of the series, but it's still pretty good. What really helps this issue is MacKay's scripts. The story is good, but it's the way that MacKay writes the character's dialogue that makes this all the more entertaining. Plus, Cappuccio always does great work in fight scenes, which was seen during the sections of this book with Hunter's Moon. Speaking of which, I really hope he's not dead for good, because I've been enjoying his character throughout this run.

This was a similar case for me as Moon Knight #15. I was ready to give this an 8.5, but then we got the final few pages with Marc, Marlene, and Reese. This series is two-for-two on its one-shots, with the Devil's Reign tie-in one-shot before this being absolutely fantastic. While this wasn't quite as good as that issue, this is still really good. The conflict Badr faces here is great and works well with his character thus far. Also, as much as I always miss Alessandro Cappuccio when he's not on the book, Sabbatini does a nice job here and, at times, it feels as though he's trying to impersonate Cappuccio a bit with his art here.

Well, good lord, Moon Knight absolutely wrecked those two. I was expecting a little more fight from Nemean and Grand Mal, but this was insanely cool. Moon Knight being badass is an aspect of this series that MacKay has done incredibly well, and this reinforces that point. The ending of this interested me as well, as I'm looking forward to seeing where things go with Marc and Greer confronting the vampires.

While I do have minor gripes with this issue, it's still another well-written issue. Sabbatini's art has been hit or miss in this run, and this is more of a mixed bag than previously seen in the series. Plus, I've lost just a little bit of interest in the Tutor, but it is hard to follow up a great villain like Zodiac. Luckily, it appears we're finally making our way back to him with this issue's final pages. Aside from that, Moon Knight continues to be badass and I am consistently enjoying this series a ton.

Not a bad issue by any means, but probably the weakest of the series so far. I feel like Zodiac's conversation with Doctor Plesko could have been a bit better, but it was still pretty enjoyable. Moon Knight and Hunter's Moon had a fun adventure with a twist at the end, and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of that. While I will say, once again, that I'm missing Alessandro Cappuccio, I do think this was a good issue for him to take a break on.

I've been loving this run of Moon Knight, and this was another pretty good issue. I will say that I wasn't the biggest fan of the ending. It wasn't necessarily "bad" or anything; it just fell a little flat for me, personally. The backup was interesting, and I'm hoping if we'll be seeing Blade a little more often with it seeming like he'll be mentoring/helping Reese in a way.

Pretty good issue in an awesome run. Quickly speaking about the art, Cappuccio is just outstanding. I'm absolutely in love with his art and I hope he stays on this book forever. Onto the story, I enjoyed a little more focus on Reese and Soldier here, as MacKay does a good job of making the reader care more about them. I think their interactions were very well-done in this issue. Plus, I enjoyed seeing Reese struggling with becoming a vampire, along with Reese's commentary about Soldier as a person. Finally, I'm intrigued to see what develops with the hooded figure at the end of the issue. I'm definitely interested in the story they have going on here, and the ending panel was super ominous; I love it.

Despite the minimal use of the book's titular character, this was a great issue primarily about Tigra. I hadn't read much of her material before this, but this issue alone got me invested in her character. Her relationship with her son, William, was very enjoyable. Her inner monologue was done very well also, and it reminds everyone just how good Jed MacKay is at writing (Alessandro Cappuccio's art was fantastic once again as well). I'm not 100% sure how I feel about Marc and Greer possibly being a couple quite yet, but I am a sucker for a good romance, so hopefully it turns out well. All in all, this was an awesome Tigra-focused issue.

I wasn't sure what to think when I saw that Venom would be in an issue of Moon Knight, considering I've never been the biggest fan of the character (not to say I dislike Venom, he's just never been my favorite), but this was a fun time. MacKay writes a fun adventure for the two and is able to give both Marc and Dylan time to shine here. Plus, Cappuccio delivers fantastic art once again here. It's so good that his art alone might be enough to get me to jump on a current Venom series. However, that could probably be said for over half of the Marvel books I don't currently read. I also enjoyed the ending of this book, as Dylan's ominous words on this issue's final page set up a lot of intrigue going forward, depending on whether or not they'll have a lasting influence on Marc.

It's crazy that we're almost 30 issues into this series and just continues to deliver with great quality books. This issue is no exception. It's been well-documented throughout my reviews of this run how much I love Alessandro Cappuccio's art, but Sabbatini does some of his best work on the title yet with this issue, in my opinion. It seems to me that, at times, he's trying to emulate Cappuccio's art into his work here, but I don't mind one bit as long as the art is good. Plus, I thought Marc going through the different dreams was very well-done and I'm glad MacKay didn't spend more time than needed on Marc trying to figure out who the big villain was. With the special over-sized #25 coming out soon, this series continues to keep me interested and invested.

I love Jed MacKay and I love Moon Knight. The $9.99 price tag may make some weary to pick this up, but this issue, along with the rest of the series, is a definite recommend from me. This continues the current ongoing series very nicely, while also generating interest for the new City of the Dead miniseries from David Pepose & Marcelo Ferreira. The present-day story is absolutely fantastic and it feels like a big deal within this run. As for the flashback story, it's a solid and entertaining mission with Marc and Layla. The art is cool here and, despite my usual disliking of the art changing mid-issue, it makes sense here and I liked all of the art throughout. In the end, I'm highly anticipating Issue 26 to see where the story goes from here and I'm intrigued to see how City of the Dead turns out. I think this issue does its job very well, and a job well-done is something MacKay has become very much acquainted with over the past 25 issues of this fantastic series.

Something this run has done incredibly well is make the reader invested in the supporting cast along with our usual main character, Marc. Following the huge issue 25, the entirety of this issue is dedicated to delving more into Badr, who has quickly become a very intriguing character throughout this series. While I did find his story underground entertaining and interesting, I my favorite parts of this were when he was talking with Dr. Sterman. Based on the solicitations for the next two issues, it looks like we'll be getting a lot more of Badr and Marc together. After reading this, I'm very interested to see how that turns out. This series continues to be fantastic and I will really miss it if the upcoming "Knight's End" storyline is, in fact, the end of the series.

This was a cool adventure with Marc and Badr, but nothing more. It helps that MacKay is an awesome writer, especially when it comes to dialogue. I may be rating this a little higher because I just read Moon Knight: City of the Dead #2, in which the dialogue felt a little generic (You can read my review on said issue for more thoughts). However, I still enjoyed this. While I always miss Alessandro Cappuccio whenever he leaves this title, Sabbatini's art isn't bad by any means. I'm really looking forward to getting into the "Last Days of Moon Knight" storyline with the next issue, even if it's possibly the end of the series.

An awesome issue here that really feels like it's the first part of a grand finale. Based off of this, we seem to be in for a ride with the upcoming final two issues of the series. I'm very glad to hear the story will continue, even if it's spiritually with Vengeance of the Moon Knight in January. Back to this issue itself, this was simply a great start to this storyline that really builds upon the characters featured in the series up until this point to create an entertaining story. I love Jed MacKay and I love Moon Knight.

Not as good as I hoped, but still really good. Sabbatini's art still doesn't match Alessandro Cappuccio, but it's not bad or anything. I'm really looking forward to his return in the next issue. Back to this issue, though, MacKay continues to put together a really interesting story here. The reveal of Black Spectre was done really well, in my opinion. All I can hope is that the next issue sticks the landing as we transition from this series to Vengeance of Moon Knight. Also, I almost forgot to point out the part where Zodiac uses his necklace to make Reese back away, as I thought that was a crazy moment.

What a way to close out 30 issues while also building some foundation for a new series on the way. Everything about this was absolutely fantastic. If you know me, you'll know that I got absolutely hooked into reading comics relatively recently. I've been around them my whole life, but it wasn't until 2020-2021 that I started getting as into it as I am now. Back in July of 2021, I saw the first issue of this series and decided to give it a shot after having read Age of Khonshu in Jason Aaron's Avengers. I'm very happy with that decision, as these past 30 issues have, simply, been great. I absolutely cannot wait to see what MacKay and Cappuccio are cooking up with Vengeance of Moon Knight.

A really good opening issue that sets the stage for this larger storyline. Gillen, once again, writes Sinister very well here. While everything here is good setup for the few months to follow this, my, personally, favorite parts of this were the brief, one-page panels that showed the rest of the world's heroes/villains getting taken down. Ben Grimm murdering the rest of the Fantastic Four in the way that he did and Scarlet Witch's death were my absolute favorites here. Gillen continues to rise up my list of favorite current writers with this issue, not to mention Lucas Werneck's always fantastic art.

A very interesting conclusion to the Sins of Sinister event. Sinister is one of my favorite X-Men characters, so I really enjoyed how he was written here (something Gillen has been fantastic at time and time again), but of course it was also bittersweet to see him lose. If you read my review for Immoral X-Men #2, you can probably guess that I'm glad Rasputin IV has traveled to current time. I'm really excited to see where her character goes from here. Truly an exciting time to be an X-fan.

A great debut issue for the continuation of a series I really loved. One thing I pointed out in at least one review for an issue of the previous series was that MacKay did a fantastic job of building the supporting cast that surrounds Marc Spector. This issue is a really good example of that paying off, as it was easy for me to get invested in the story throughout this book, even without Marc or the new Moon Knight being shown very much. I'm really looking forward to seeing where this story goes. Also, I can't finish this review without mentioning how awesome Cappuccio's art is. What I'm about to say is not to say his art was bad in the last series whatsoever, because it was gorgeous. However, I looked at the first few pages of the last Moon Knight #1 yesterday and after reading this, it's evident how much Cappuccio has stepped up his game. Overall, this was a great way to kick off this new series and it really fired on all fronts.

MacKay and Cappuccio continue to be a fantastic duo. Cappuccio's art is absolutely gorgeous, which is already evident on the very first page of this issue. As for MacKay, he did a great job of giving us a compelling, character-driven story with some good action as well throughout. That line from Tigra about why Marc didn't return hit me like a truck. I'm really hoping MacKay continues this trend of focusing on a single character for the next few issues.

When I opened up this issue, I was incredibly excited to see that Soldier was getting an issue focused on him. Now, after reading, I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint. MacKay continues to do a great job with Marc's supporting cast in this series, and I'm sure that will remain true when the next issue is, presumably, centered around Hunter's Moon. Back to this, however, I really liked the way MacKay wrote Soldier's inner-turmoil about Marc's death, as well as how Soldier was really stepping up to combat this new Moon Knight. On top of that, Cappuccio, once again, puts out some beautiful art.

Another really good issue for the series. With the last three issues focusing on Reese, Tigra, and Soldier, respectively, I knew going in that this would be centered around Hunter's Moon. That said, this was another really good issue for this series. MacKay continues to do a really nice job writing Tigra, and I really liked how he delved into Hunter's Moon's real feelings and animosity towards the new Moon Knight. Speaking of which, the reveal of who that is is such a deep cut and I really appreciate that. Additionally, Cappuccino draws everything beautifully, as per usual. All things considered, this was another awesome read from MacKay & Cappuccio.

I didn't think 8-Ball would be getting an issue focused on him since this was billed as a Blood Hunt tie-in, but I'm very glad it was. Yes, we got a lot of Tigra and Hunter's Moon going against The Shroud and setting up their involvement in Blood Hunt. However, we still got a good amount of focus on 8-Ball and I'm super glad he seems to be getting a redemption arc. I'm really looking forward to seeing where his character goes. Oh yeah, and Cappuccio's art was fantastic as always.

A really nice issue that just gets to that 9.0/10 for me. I think Pramanik did a super solid job of filling in for Alessandro Cappuccio here and I think he could be a really nice rotating artist for this run. As for MacKay, he continues to do an awesome job with just about all of the characters here. I really like how he handled Reese here, especially, as he's made her one of the best characters of his run on Moon Knight. The final few pages with her returning to the apartment were just great, and part of the reason this got pushed to a 9.0/10 for me.

Awesome issue where Cappuccio's art just made everything look fantastic. Super glad to have Marc back and I especially enjoyed his moments with Greer. This issue made me more excited to get to the finale of the main Blood Hunt miniseries. I'm also super excited to see what comes of the rest of this series and the new Fist of Khonshu series starting up later this month.

Another strong debut issue for the Absolute line. I don't currently know whether or not I would place this above Batman overall, although I would consider this premise to be a stronger and/or more unique one thus far. Like Batman, I think this has the potential to be great, as I did enjoy the world being built throughout this. Hopefully I'm right about that.

I was more into this than the previous issue, which currently makes me believe this is my second-favorite of the Absolute line (currently). The way Lois described Kal-El is accurate, which is something I've really liked about both issues. What I'm referring to is the notion of him being rather quiet at certain times, and being more confident at other times. Sandoval's art was nice here, as well.

Another really well-done issue here, in my opinion. Sandoval's art is great throughout, and Aaron provides some awesome character work as well. My main complaint about this is that I think it ended a little too soon. I just wish there was a tiny bit more here. However, this was still really good stuff and I continue to look forward to what's next.

Definitely my favorite issue so far. Even though Kal-El wasn't in the issue until the second half, he was so cool when he finally showed up. The focus on Lois was nice and well-written, also. I'm really happy with the way Aaron has handled her character thus far.

A very well-written issue depicting what happened at the end of Krypton, which felt particularly relevant in the current landscape in the real world. I have to acknowledge Sandoval, as well, as he's doing a fantastic job on the interiors, plus this cover especially.

A pretty good epilogue that shows the relation between this universe's Kal-El and the Kents. I would have liked a little more between them, and maybe we'll end up getting that in future issues, but I still enjoyed it. Giandomenico does a nice job of filling in here, as well. I may not have enjoyed this as much as some other issues of the book thus far, but I'm still really looking forward to what's next. Also, in a bit of a spoiler, I don't know why I was as surprised as I was to see Ra's al Ghul at the end.

A crazy Brainiac-focused issue here. I didn't quite love this as much as some others seemed to, but I still enjoyed it for what it was. Giandomenico's interiors complimented the story nicely, in my opinion. Brainiac killing those Omega soldiers in the way that he did as was absolutely insane, by the way.

Definitely an intriguing start to this new arc. Absolute Ra's al Ghul proves to be another crazy villain for Absolute Superman, and I'm looking forward to the two of them going against one another at some point. Aside from that, it was nice to have Kal-El back in the book after missing the last issue for focus on Brainiac. The dynamic between him, Lois, and Jimmy is interesting and it's another thing I'm looking forward to more of.

A really good second-part to this arc. The art was great throughout, in my opinion, and I'm really enjoying the story Aaron is cooking up here. Lots of political undertones that, unfortunately, have strong connections to today's real world. Also, the confrontation between Lois and Ra's in the first half was really well-written. Super tense.

Wow. One of the best issues thus far, in my eyes. First off, Giandomenico's art is fantastic here. Some really great pages. The story here was amazing as well. Pretty major spoiler alert right here, so don't continue reading if you haven't read the issue yet. Anyways, yeah, Talia being revealed as Primus was pretty crazy. Not where I thought they were going with the story, but I do really like it and I'm really looking forward to the next issue now. Oh yeah, the scene with Kal-El and Jor-El was really nice, as well.

Didn't enjoy this as much as the last two issues, but it was still really good stuff overall. Giandomenico continues to do a nice job filling in for Rafa Sandoval here. Although, the writing is what took this down for me a bit. The story is good, but some of the dialogue wasn't my favorite. Furthermore, I felt as though the story jumped around just a little too much for me. In any case, this was still another really good book and I'm looking forward to what's next.

A great read. Really nice to see Sandoval back on the interiors, as I feel like he's such a great fit for this book. Furthermore, I really liked the developments with Kal-El here, and I'm looking forward to them, hopefully, being built upon as the series continues.

A super solid issue here. Not the best of the series, but definitely very enjoyable. Some the narration was a tad bit unnecessary, I will say, but I did like it overall. Definitely a different Kal-El than Earth-0, and I'm interested to see how much he becomes more like that standard version, if at all, as the series progresses. That said, I'm hoping the next issue closes out this arc strongly.

A strong finale to this arc. Sandoval did a great job on the art duties here, as he made the action just look awesome. Furthermore, I felt that Aaron did a nice job with pacing, particularly balancing between the moments with more action and the more quiet/slow moments. Speaking of the latter, I'm really looking forward to seeing Kal-El in a blue suit in the next arc, along with Juan Ferreyra doing interiors for said arc.

Great first issue to this new arc that just has a lot going for it. Firstly, Ferreyra's art was pretty good. There were certain spots where I didn't think it was the strongest, but I think it landed well overall. Though, the best part of this, for me, was Aaron's writing of Kal-El. Really enjoying this take on the character and I'm very much looking forward to more of it, as well as whatever Brainiac is plotting after his appearance on the last page.

Another great issue. This book has really been on a roll, and I'm very glad about it. Both Aaron & Ferreyra are putting out strong work here, though, I am looking forward to Rafa Sandoval's return, as I've really been enjoying the covers he's been doing for this arc and I'd very much like to see him draw Superman with the blue suit on the inside of the book. In any case, very interesting dialogue between Superman and Hawkman, and I'm very intrigued to see what more happens with Lex Luthor in the future of this series.

The best issue of this arc, in my opinion. Ferreryra's interiors landed the best they have thus far, which I think might have to do with the darker environment. Additionally, I just really enjoyed virtually everything Aaron presented here quite a bit. Really liked this as a mix of its own story, as well as being a tease for what's to come with in the title. Very intrigued to see "King Shazam" in the next arc and I'm also looking forward to Rafa Sandoval back on interiors, even though I did really enjoy Ferreyra's work in this arc.

Super cool start to this new arc. Nice to see Sandoval back on the interiors, as I think he did a very solid job throughout this one. The story here was cool, as well, though not the book's best. It felt like Aaron was trying to cram in the introductions of both King Shazam and Steel, while also continuing the ongoing story of the book. Not a bad thing on its own, but something I think could have been executed a bit better.

Great follow-up to the previous issue. Really liked the introduction for Steel here, and I'm really hoping we get more of him in the future. I feel like he has the potential to be very interesting. Additionally, I liked King Shazam here quite a bit, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this all goes, particularly with Hawkman joining the fight between him, Superman, and, now, Steel.

Great stuff, once again. I would have preferred if Sandoval did all of the interiors here, but it wasn't really distracting much whenever Cifuentes took over. The art was consistently good, and I also very much enjoyed the story here. I wasn't expecting Hawkman to side with Superman the way he did so soon into him appearing in the title. I figured that would be more of a slower burn, but I'm not mad at it at all.

This was a very strong debut for this series. I've been hyping this up a lot in my mind due to just how cool this looks, and I'm very glad to say it did not disappoint. The characters are nicely written and I really like the environment presented here. Despite nothing all that unique being done with it, I really like the design of the humans and the orcs. Plus, the Vangol are absolutely insane and I love it. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this plays out and I have a feeling this is gonna get even better.

Glad to say that I liked this even more than the first issue. Wildgoose's art continues to be great here and I think he only adds to this already immersive world. As for Wilson's story, I enjoyed this a lot. She was able to expand upon the characters introduced in previously and make the reader more invested in them. This is most clearly seen with Callum, as we learn more about his backstory and upbringing. Plus, I also thought the wolf hunt with Troth and Faran was nicely-written and very intriguing. While the ending didn't connect with me emotionally, I thought it was an unexpected way to close out the issue and I think it will give way to more great content in Issue 3 and beyond.

This series continues to be really enjoyable with this issue. Aside from Wildgoose's art being great, I think Wilson is developing these characters really well with this story. I don't really have all that much to say about this, other than that it's really interesting and, if you like fantasy stories, you should definitely be reading this.

A really well-written issue. I thought Wilson handled the conflict between the orcs well, with the two differing sides debating whether or not to honor the treaty between them and the humans. Everything else here was super interesting as well. I enjoyed how Tara was written here and I also found the pages with the Vangol intriguing. Throughout the issue as a whole, it feels like big things are ahead and I'm really excited for it.

The best issue so far. This was a really good, character-driven issue from Wilson featuring some very nice art from Wildgoose. I thought that Wilson did a great job of building the tension between Cal and Tara, eventually resulting in Tara leaving the group. It was a relatively simple story, but Wilson just brought it together so well. Plus, if nothing else, Wildgoose makes every page look fantastic.

This was another great, character-driven issue. Wildgoose's art continues to be absolutely fantastic in this series, and Wilson does a really nice job of building Tara as a character by focusing on her in the present day as well as delving into her past. My biggest complaint about this...is that we have to wait until this summer for more. That's at least four months until we get to see more of these characters and more of this story. In all seriousness, this book has been a great read so far and I hope the team can recharge during this break and come back even stronger in the summer. I can't wait to read what's next.

I grew to love Sinister as a villain in Zeb Wells' Hellions, and Gillen does him justice here. Going through this issue, mostly, from his point-of-view was a lot of fun, with one of the highlights being him being wrong on how the votes for Hope would go. Speaking of Hope, I think she's a great addition to the Quiet Council, and I really enjoyed all of the stuff with them as well. Going back to Sinister, the ending is just fantastic and perfect for him. All things considered, this was a really strong start to this series and shows a lot of promise for Destiny of X.

Not quite as strong as the opening issue, but still a really good read. After joining the Quiet Council in Issue 1, we get a nice issue primarily focused on Hope and Sinister. This did a good job of making me, someone who hasn't read a lot of stories with her, like Hope's character and become even more glad she's on the council. Her interactions with Exodus, another character I don't know too much about, were some of the highlights of this issue. Plus, you have the always fun Sinister to top it all off.

This book continues to be fantastic. I'm not the biggest Destiny fan, but Gillen makes her a very compelling character here. Her love story with Mystique is well-done throughout this issue, and I really liked how she realized that Sinister cloned Moira. Along with Werneck's great art, Gillen writes a very intriguing story that continues to maintain my attention in this era of X-books.

We have another hit issue with this series' fourth issue. The Sinister content continues to be highly entertaining, and the focus on Emma Frost this time around is very well-done. While I do miss Lucas Werneck's art here, Bandini isn't a bad fill-in whatsoever. I've been loving this series so far and Issue 4 doesn't disappoint whatsoever. I can only hope that the Judgment Day crossover doesn't hinder this book's quality, although I doubt it will considering it's also headed by Gillen.

What's crazy is that this is probably my least favorite issue of the series, but it's still really good. I don't really know much about Exodus, so I wasn't sure what to expect going into this. Luckily for me, Gillen was crafted a story that makes Exodus an interesting character by detailing his past with Apocalypse and Magneto. I'm still missing Lucas Werneck, but Bandini continues to do a nice job here. Overall, this was another good read from this series. Going into Issue 6, I'm facing a similar feeling as I did with this issue, in that I don't really know much about Sebastian Shaw. Hopefully the next issue has the same effect this one had, in making me more interested in the main character.

Much like the previous issue, Gillen writes an interesting story for a character I don't really know much about. This time, we have Sebastian Shaw being focused on here with a fairly compelling backstory and an encounter with a demon that makes him look like an absolute badass. I also enjoyed his judgment, as I have with most instances during Judgment Day. Before all of this, we're also treated to an intriguing interaction between Sinister and Destiny. Great stuff again from Gillen, plus the return of Werneck to this series is a very welcome one.

This was hands-down the best Judgment Day tie-in for this book. Nightcrawler has always been one of my favorite mutants, and Gillen handles him and his story here very well in this issue. His internal conflict regarding whether or not the world should survive Judgment Day is just damn good. Plus, his interactions with Destiny and Sinister were great and I was interested to see a darker side of him come out in a pressure-filled situation. I will say that the ending had me questioning whether or not to give this a 9.5 or a 10, but the rest of the greatness of this issue overshadows it tremendously. This was just an awesome Nightcrawler issue and I would like Werneck to draw Nightcrawler until the end of time.

This was a nicely done flashback issue for Mystique and Destiny, featuring Sinister. Bandini once again proves to be a nice fill-in artist, despite me missing Lucas Werneck every time there's a switch. Nonetheless, this was an enjoyable book. Mystique and Destiny are very nice together, and, more often than not, I enjoy reading Sinister (especially when Gillen is writing him). The ending page is pretty cool as well, as the Sins of Sinister event comes closer and closer.

Good lord, I love this book. Sinister's ten attempts to kill the Quiet Council were very entertaining to read, with credit going to the fantastic duo of Kieron Gillen on the scripts and Lucas Werneck on the art. Gillen has consistently made Sinister a very fun and interesting character throughout this series, while Werneck brings so much detail and intricacy to his pages. Great stuff once again from this series.

The final issue of this series before Sins of Sinister does a great job of setting up intrigue going into the event. Werneck's art is, as usual, very nice here and he does particularly great work during the action sequences. As for Gillen's writing, it continues to be fantastic with the inner-narration of Charles Xavier. His internal discussion about the X-Men and mutants as a whole was just so interesting to read, and the final page is just crazy.

The fallout of Sins of Sinister is felt strongly here, and Gillen writes another great issue with this one. My favorite part of this had to be Storm and Emma's conversation, where Emma basically calls out Storm for not noticing anything being wrong five years into the timeline after she had come down on Charles, Exodus, Hope, and Emma. Colossus being Storm's proxy on the council is intriguing and I'm interested to see how this will (most likely) impact the events of the next issue, assuming it'll be the Colossus-centered one of the series.

It's come to my attention that Colossus being controlled by someone else is a storyline in the current X-Force run, which explains a lot after reading this. However, despite not having read a single issue of that series prior to reading this, I still absolutely loved this issue. As another user pointed out in their review, I thought the writer possibly, somewhat, represented Gillen himself and perhaps comic writers in general. This aspect of the book was super interesting, especially thinking about it in that representative way. Plus, the main plot of this was intriguing on its own. My jaw literally dropped when Mother Righteous made Mystique kill Destiny. In my shock, for nearly a minute, I almost forgot that the mutants had resurrection. This was just an incredible issue and another example of why Gillen is an outstanding writer. It also helps that Werneck continues to be absolutely amazing with his art as well.

I wasn't sure what to to expect with Doug being the main character this time around, but I really enjoyed this. While he is on the cover and he does narrate this throughout, he does take a bit of a backseat at times, with the Council's discussion and the fight between Ororo and Exodus being the prime examples. Nonetheless, this is the last issue of the series before Fall of X and it really feels like things are starting to fall apart for Krakoa. I know the next phase is Fall of X, but part of me hopes the mutants aren't done on Krakoa, as I really like the concept and I would like for it to continue for a long, long time.

I can't believe that this being the worst issue of the series means it's just pretty good and not absolutely great. This was a well-written issue from Gillen that largely deals with the fallout of what happened at this year's Hellfire Gala. This feels different from other issues in the series, as this has multiple characters with a larger focus. We start with Charles, who is basically here to be sad about the mutants. He doesn't really do much here aside from that. Next, we get Sebastian. His stuff was probably my favorite in this issue, as we see him failing to capitalize on Krakoa's downfall. He wasn't someone I was all that interested in before I started reading this series, but now he's been given what I believe to be an intriguing story so far in Fall of X. The ending of this issue with Hope, Exodus, and Destiny was interesting as well, but kind of a weird ending to an issue that had little-to-no mention of them prior. Either way, this was another good issue for the series that sets an intriguing tone going into Fall of X.

While I did like this issue, I also think it's definitely the weakest issue yet. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come for this title in Fall of X, but this feels a little unfocused, in my opinion. The stuff with Sebastian and Selene was interesting, but then we moved to the stuff with Hope, Exodus, Destiny, and Mother Righteous, which was solid, but nothing more. Plus, although Medina is a good artist, I'm really missing Lucas Werneck's art here. Luckily he's supposed to come back in the next issue. Moving back to the story, it does provide some intriguing ideas and concepts, and I'm interested to see what comes of Apocalypse's upcoming return, I agree with what KittyNone said in their review, in that this feels like less than the sum of its parts. Overall, while this was a solid issue by itself that is able to maintain my interest, it's also, unfortunately, a bit of a disappointment when thinking about how fantastic the rest of the series has been up to this point.

I did enjoy this more than the last issue, but it still feels just a bit lacking and all over the place, at times, for me. However, I have the feeling that the next two issues are going to be really good. I like the stuff with Destiny and Mother Righteous in this issue, as well as the stuff with Charles and Sebastian. With Jean Grey set to take a larger focus in Issue 17, it has potential to be really good. Hopefully Gillen and Werneck are able to take this title back up to the heights it was at before Fall of X.

An enjoyable issue here, though it's still not up to the standards of quality it was once at. This is far from bad, but I found myself really interested by the dialogue between Charles and Sinister and not nearly as interested when the issue focused on Jean, Hope, Exodus, and Mother Righteous. With one issue left, I hope this series sticks the landing, as I've loved it for the most part. Also, I'll always miss Lucas Werneck on art, but Ryp did a really solid job on this one.

This was a fairly solid issue, but I do feel very similar to how I felt with the previous one, in that I found myself interested in the pages with Xavier and Sinister, but not so much with Mother Righteous, Exodus, Destiny, etc. There are certainly some intriguing ideas present here, I just wish everything came together nicer, especially for the final issue of a series I was really loving before Fall of X. That said, I'm still looking forward to X-Men: Forever and Rise of the Powers of X, both from Gillen.

This is the type of book where it's evident how much the team loves the characters they're working on. I love Reilly making his style to something out of a 60's comic for the majority of this issue, whereas it's more sleek and modern when we're in 2549. As for Ewing's writing, the dialogue fits right in with the time period. While it fits in with 60's book, it's not too far into it to a point where it's super distracting. The majority of this issue could have been a 60's Ant-Man/Tales to Astonish book, and an entertaining one at that. However, what makes this all the better is the context surrounding this. As CrazyForRAMU pointed out in their review, the joke made about Namor putting the Fantastic Four in a movie isn't just a throwaway joke. As I stated in the beginning of this review, this is a book where it's evident how much the team cares about the characters they're working on. This was an interesting and strong start to this miniseries, and I'm intrigued to see where this goes.

We're two-for-two with this series as we move from Hank Pym to Eric O'Grady. While the last issue very much fit in with the Silver Age style of comics, this one feels more modern, which is what I would hope for with an Iredeemable Ant-Man story. The art from Reilly very much fits into this 2000's era as well. This era-specific art was seen in Issue 1 as well, where I felt as though his art was giving off a 1960's feel throughout the Hank story. What truly boosts this is how feel Ewing writes everything. He makes Eric an entertaining character to read over the course of this issue while also continuing to build the mystery of who this new Ant-Man is. We're halfway through this shorter miniseries and I'm looking forward to reading Scott Lang's story in Issue 3.

I wasn't quite as into this issue as I was the previous two, but it's still a really good book. Ewing has done a fantastic job of giving the three different "Ant-Men" their own unique voices so far and that's evident here as well. Before we get into the set-up for Issue 4, we get a pretty fun adventure with Scott and Cassie going against Black Ant. As for Reilly's art, he once again has a change in his style in this series. This time around, things look modern, in that it looks like something he would do in a current comic book. Of course, this fits with the majority of this issue taking place in the present. Over the course of this series, I feel as though Reilly has altered his art in order to fit with the time period, which is something I've really enjoyed. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all ends and I hope the team sticks the landing.

I thought this was a really good ending to a great miniseries devoted to honoring the legacy of Ant-Man. My thoughts on this issue are pretty consistent with what I've been saying about this title for the last three issues. Ewing delivers good scripts that give each of the different "Ant-Men" unique voices and personalities. I think that bringing them together for this time-jumping story was an awesome idea that he made work really well. When it comes to Reilly's art, he was fantastic throughout and that doesn't change here. If you've read my reviews for Issues 1-3, you'll know that I've always brought up his changing art style in this run. That's evident here once again. Although, we have seen glimpses of this sleeker version of his modern style over the course of the series from the glimpses into Zayn's time period. Overall, I really enjoyed this miniseries and I would definitely call it a must-read for Ant-Man fans.

I thought that this was a super intriguing start to this miniseries. Acuña's art can get really congested on certain pages, but I really enjoyed it overall. As for Zdarsky's story, I thought it was good. I'm usually interested by alternate timelines/universes where we see different iterations of already familiar characters, so I could be a bit biased there. However, I still thought Zdarsky wrote a compelling story with this issue that does a nice job of setting the stage for what's to come.

Good read once again. I liked Acuña's art as a whole here more than Issue 1, but I was just a little less interested in Zdarsky's story this time around, so it evened out to another 8.5/10 score. Either way, I'm really intrigued by the world being built here and I think Zdarsky does a great job writing Steve.

The best issue yet. Zdarsky continues to do a fantastic job here. I don't know that this story is anything particularly revolutionary or unique, but the execution of it all is what makes it great. He does a really nice job with Steve's character, and I found Thor's arrival absolutely epic. It definitely helps when you have Acuña making everything look awesome.

Good stuff once again. Zdarsky and Acuña continue to do great jobs in their respective departments. I don't really have much to say about this other than that. I like the dynamics between everyone and I hope the final third of the miniseries delivers.

A great issue to kick off this run. There was some controversy surrounding this due to the change of Punisher's logo, but the violence fans are used is still very much present. We get backstory as to Frank's new situation, along with a tease of a villain for the series. Overall, great stuff.

I wouldn't say this packed the same punch as the previous issue, but this remains on the same level of quality. We get to see an interaction between Frank and Maria here, which was done very well with a, somewhat, unsettling tone. I also enjoyed seeing more development of The Hand and more of why Frank is aligned with them. Plus, Ares is revealed to be the leader of the Apostles of War (which probably should have been obvious by the helmets the group members wear that were seen in the first issue). Along with the good story, the art is great and I like the contrast between the style for the present and the style for the past. The two highlights of Saiz's art in this issue have to been when Frank kills the AoW member and when Ares absolutely obliterates that guy at the end (Probably one of my favorite parts of the book overall).

Man this series is just so damn good. The story of Frank's first kill was a simple story, but it's the great execution of it that boosts its overall quality. Everything after that continued to be really good as well. Frank's interactions with the Archpriestess and some of the other ninjas in The Hand were cool, especially Frank, somewhat, demanding respect. The stuff with him and Maria was also done well, adding a touch of sadness to the issue. This is best issue of this series yet, in my opinion.

Another great issue for this series. This starts and ends by showcasing the different viewpoints Frank and the Archpriestess have, which is conveyed well through the ninjas who survived their encounter with Ares in the previous issue. Speaking of the Archpriestess, I enjoyed her conversation with Ares as well. The two of them both want Frank to be a certain way, but it seems like neither of them are going to get exactly what they want. As for Maria, her content in the series continues to maintain my interest, but I think she needs more development going forward for that to keep going. Overall, really entertaining stuff.

While some aren't too keen on this having a larger focus on the flashbacks, but I really enjoyed it. The story with Frank, Steadman, and Maria was very interesting to read and I thought it was the strongest part of this issue. Frank slashing the Archpriestess at the beginning was a cool way to follow up the previous issue's ending, but the return to the present after the longer flashback didn't do too much for me. However, the final page where Ares is wearing the old Punisher logo was an intriguing moment that generates interest for the issues to come.

While still good, the flashback stuff wasn't my favorite this time around. The real highlight, for me, was the battle between Frank and Ares. Despite Frank getting his head smashed in, there's still potential for this to be revisited in the future. However, despite Frank's loss, this was still a very entertaining battle and the dialogue between them was great (Although it was more of Ares talking to Frank as opposed to a traditional dialogue). I also liked the glimpse into the resurrection process for Frank's two children. Despite not showing them in full, we still experience some uneasiness when getting just a glance of how mutated and disfigured his "children" are while trying to resurrect them. Plus, Daredevil showing up at the end provides a lot of intrigue.

Seeing Daredevil here was nice and his interactions with Frank were done well, in my opinion. I especially enjoyed the end of their fight, in which he realizes that Frank isn't even corrupted, making all the more terrifying to him. While that was pretty good, Maria's ongoing story throughout the issue is the best part of this book. Her, for just a moment, somewhat getting the husband she had always wanted only for him to slip right out of her fingers was heart-wrenching to read.

A pretty good issue that sets the stage for an epic battle in #9. Maria's story picks up here, which is exactly what I wanted. Frank having the ninjas whose families were murdered as his personal guard is great, in my opinion, as he can relate to them in that way. Also, Ares effortlessly crushing that other ninja's head was another crazy kill in a series with a bunch of crazy ones. Overall, this book does its job well in creating anticipation for the showdown between the Apostles of War and The Hand.

Good lord this was fantastic. The battle between The Hand and the Apostles of War was great, and Frank shooting Ares right in his face was just awesome. The sick look on his face in the final few pages was just amazingly done, with Saiz reminding everyone just how damn good he is in this book. As for the flashbacks, I enjoyed the teasing of retconning Frank's origin, only for the Archpriestess to go against murdering his family. Plus, Maria seemingly accepting Frank's role was not something I expected, but it's sure to be a very interesting twist as we get into the final few issues of this series.

Really good issue from a series that I've really been enjoying. Maria's continued narration over her and Frank's past together is great, and I'm glad she hasn't become an afterthought in this series. As for Frank, the "murder train" of sorts he's on here was also handled well with the news reporter(s) covering what he's been up to. After the team-up tease from last issue's ending, I'm excited to see what happens when Frank is finally confronted by all these heroes. I can't wait for next month's issue, as this series continues to be one of my favorite ones going right now.

This had a big twist I wasn't expecting after Maria seemed to embrace The Hand. However, I should have seen it coming, as I don't think Maria's going to be staying alive past the end of this series. As for the rest of the book, I really enjoyed all of the flashbacks and I found Frank's battle with the heroes to be very entertaining. This has been a fantastic run so far and all I can say is that I hope the team sticks the landing with Issue 12.

I guess I'm one of the few who really enjoyed this. Perhaps it's because I'm not too concerned with certain retcons if they make an entertaining story, and that's what this series has been for me. The flashbacks weren't my absolute favorites of this run, but I enjoyed them. The present-day story is where this issue shines, in my opinion. While I do think Maria finding out what Frank was doing could have been explored deeper, I don't believe she's completely unjustified in her reaction here. Over the course of this series, we've seen the emotional torment Maria has been put through over the course of her relationship with and marriage to Frank. She came back to life right after she was about to tell Frank she finally wanted a divorce, and now she's faced with the countless murders and violent acts Frank has committed in honor of her and their children. Plus, the ending creates an intriguing scenario that leaves the door open for Frank's story coming out of this series to continue. Overall, I really enjoyed this issue and this series as a whole. I thought this was a great story, and that is a hill I'm willing to die on.

I wasn't sure how to feel about this when it was announced, purely because the only thing I had read from Camp prior to this was his Children of the Vault miniseries. I didn't dislike it by any means, but it wasn't something I thought was incredible or anything. All of that said, I regret ever having the slightest bit of doubt. It's not a perfect first issue, but it was still very good. A lot of intriguing things going on here, andI think everything was handled well. Frigeri does a fantastic job of bringing everything to life here, as well. This is starting out strongly, with only Ultimate Spider-Man having a better debut issue, in my opinion, and I have a feeling I'm really going to like where this goes.

A super solid second issue for the series. I really liked the focus on America throughout this, although I would have liked. little more as to what was actually going on in the country's history in this universe. I was able to figure everything out through Frigeri's great art, but I would have just liked a little more, personally. Either way, this continues to be a really good comic.

Now this is what I'm talking about. Really great stuff here with She-Hulk introduced. Nice political commentary here, which looks like one of the central themes of this title. I'm all for it. As soon as I mentioned Ultimate Spider-Man has been my favorite in the line, Ultimates comes in with a stellar read.

Fantastic. Really enjoyed seeing Doom's backstory in this universe, and it was depicted beautifully by Noto. The panelling was super interesting here, as well. I read it "normally" at first. However, I re-read it immediately afterwards by reading all of the top panels, all of the second panels, and so on. Truly great stuff here, as Camp is, apparently, doing everything he can to try and make this top Jonathan Hickman's Ultimate Spider-Man as my favorite book in the line right now.

Another great character introduction here. I really like the idea of not everyone officially taking the mantle they were "supposed to" based on the 616 timeline. It keeps things more realistic, in my opinion, and allows for new characters, such as Charli, to step in. Speaking of which, Charli is already an intriguing character and I'm hoping to see more of them as the series progresses. Their conversation with Steve was super well-written, and I think Steve was the perfect person to confront them as well.

Crazy stuff here, and I loved it. Hulk basically handing everyone's asses to them was insane, and it did a great job to build him even more after his previous appearances in this universe. Really looking forward to seeing him show up again at some point, whether it's in this title, specifically, or elsewhere in the line.

This, kind of, felt like a filler issue, of sorts. However, it was still really good. It jumps around to different members of the team, but the pacing was handled really well. It was nice to see where everyone is at following the events of the last issue, and I'm especially looking forward to seeing how everything moves forward in the next issue.

Not my favorite issue of the run, but still another super intriguing one. I really appreciated the focus on America Chavez here. This series has been a lot of introductory issues for certain characters, but America's barely had her in it. Even moving forward in the series, she wasn't getting a whole lot of focus. That's not necessarily a bad thing in itself, but it's a little strange when you take a step back and look at the rest of the series.

Camp continues to kill it on this book. A very well-done analysis of Luke Cage's life in this new universe, as well as social commentary for the real world beyond comics. While I would have liked to see Luke join the team, I think what we got for Luke here was just fantastic and I appreciate the reason for him not joining. Furthermore, Allen did really nice work on the interiors.

This was another great issue. However, the main thing I'd like to talk about here is kind of a really big deal, in my opinion, and a major spoiler for the issue. So, yeah. I just thought I'd have that disclaimer before getting into it. Anyways, yeah. Man, Bucky being Red Skull is actually so crazy and I absolutely love that idea. I'm really looking forward to seeing whether or not it gets followed up on at some point in the future. I'm really hoping it does.

Listen, I liked this and really appreciated what Camp was trying to do here. However, I think poetry just...isn't my absolute favorite thing, unfortunately. That said, this was probably my least favorite issue of the series. Something Camp has been doing recently in his work, across the board, is challenge the norms and such when it comes to comics. For that, I have a lot of respect for Camp, and it's worked out well a good amount of the time. However, for me, it just didn't land as well this time around.

Back to greatness with this issue. Frigeri puts out some truly awesome interiors throughout this issue, without even having to rely on cool action scenes to do so. That said, Camp continues to write this very nicely. This was primarily dialogue, but it worked really well. This is a great example of how to keep a comic book that has a lot of talking interesting. Really looking forward to where everything goes from here, especially with that reveal at the end. Like, what?

Great issue showing us what Tony and the rest of the team have been up to since his return. Really like the direction they're going with the team, regarding how many people they're including and/or training now. Looking forward to seeing how that develops, as well as what we got on the final page with Tony.

Great Captain America & Hawkeye issue here, as I quite enjoy the dynamic between the two. Plus, I liked what we got from Pietro and Wanda here, even if it was, likely, just for the one issue. Frigeri made everything look fantastic, as well. Nothing much to report here, honestly. Just a really good comic book.

Really solid issue here, though I do wish we got more of Shang-Chi, especially with him being front-and-center in the solicitation and on the cover. That said, She-Hulk was, genuinely, awesome in this issue. The ending, especially, was fantastic, and I'm hoping we get a confrontation between them in the future.

Pretty strong first issue here. I had high hopes for this series after seeing the cover, hearing about the tone of the book, and seeing some of the previews. While I did like this a lot, it wasn't really as "slasher horror" as I thought it would be. A lot of this focuses on Dinah and what's going on in her life at this point in time, as well as diving into her history with Ollie. It's all written well, but this felt like more of a drama that featured horror elements whenever the Longbow Killer was present. That said, I really liked this. Albuquerque's art fits the book pretty well, in my opinion, and I'm, especially, glad to see him being involved with the universe after what happened with Absolute Superman. All of that said, I'm really looking forward to seeing where this all goes.

Two-for-two on great reads. The first issue, and even just the hook of it, was really catered towards those with more left-wing political views, considering who Absolute Green Arrow is targeting and who the "bad guys" are in this book (and the universe as a whole). I don't think this flips that here, but I appreciated Pichetshote using the dialogue between Dinah and Mia to, in a way, call out the more performative activists. In this case, specifically, it's Mia. However, it's something that I think resonates very strongly in the real world as well. Not to get super political about a comic book (*wink*), though. That said, I'm getting pretty spoilery now, as my thoughts on who the Green Arrow is fluctuated throughout this. I'm someone who thought that, going into this, the killer was Roy Harper. I also thought Connor Hawke, but then went against that because, well, I hadn't thought he was born. Now with him here, my theory was back...just for it to almost immediately be thrown out the window (probably) with Green Arrow shooting Connor. Another theory I began to have, with Solomon Grundy being introduced, was that, perhaps, this is a zombified/resurrected Oliver Queen? Him seeming to not know Connor invalidates that a bit, though. So...yeah, looks like I'm back to having Roy as the primary suspect. Mia would be an interesting twist, I must say, but I don't really think it's her. Even Roy is someone I'm not really sure of, but he's the best guess I have right now. Anyways, this was great and I hope the book maintains this level of quality throughout its run.

Weakest issue thus far, in my opinion, but still really good. A testament to the greatness of the first two issues that this can be the weakest and also be as good as it is. This was just a tad bit below those, for me. A lot of good stuff here, though. I particularly liked the anti-aging stuff and how Pichetshote made that connection in order to introduce Solomon Grundy into the book. Though, as much as I love Ollie in the mainline, part of me is hoping that he's just...dead, still. I'm not completely opposed to the idea of him coming back, but I also fear that it would feed into the standard comic book trope, a bit, of "the dead never stay dead." I don't know. If Pichetshote can make it work well, I'll be on board with it. For now, I'm a little apprehensive. Who knows, maybe that was never the plan to be the actual direction of the book and this whole tangent will have been for no reason.

A lot of this is establishing the context and world around Poke, but it's good and interesting. The last few pages are what really hooked me, though. Really hoping this dives deep into the realization that the society you've been surrounded by for so long may not be as good as it's made out to be. Camp has been killing it with just about every title he's working on, so I have high hopes for this going forward. Also, Morian is a great choice for this book. His style fits the world very well.

Very glad to say that I liked this even more than the first issue. Honestly, a great read here. This time around, we get to know two human protagonists, in Cara and Rabbit, as they encounter Poke. Camp did a great job quickly establishing the dynamic between the mother and daughter, while also giving a good amount of emotional weight for them. Additionally, Morian, once again, gives us some really nice pages. I especially enjoyed the last few. Really looking forward to what's next, now that we've gotten one zombie-focused issue and one human-focused issue.

I didn't think this was as good as the previous issue, but it's still a really good read. Something I just noticed while reading this, that I think is an incredibly interesting and great concept, is having the lettering be styled different between the zombie and the humans. It was easy to overlook with the first issue being primarily focused on the former and the second issue being primarily focused on the latter. However, now that the two sides get around an even amount of focus, each, here, it's a lot more noticeable. I especially like that distinction when you consider that it's shown that the zombies and the humans are either speaking different languages from one another or are just unable to understand each other, with everything being automatically translated for the reader. I feel like the way a comic is lettered is pretty easy to not think much about for most readers, so it's really cool to see that have more importance to the actual story here.

Still really interested to see where this is all going. Mush following Poke back to the humans was, definitely, on the more predictable side, but I still enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next issue. Morian continues to be a great fit for this book, and I'm really liking how unique his style feels.

A lot of interesting things here. Firstly, I really enjoyed how Camp wrote Rabbit's narration. It threw me off at first, but, then, I realized what he was doing. Rabbit is a small child...so, her narration should read like the thoughts of a small child, right? Furthermore, I felt that he did a really nice job of writing it that way. Especially loved the misunderstandings of words that led to her saying things differently (ex. "Yemen" instead of "Heaven"). Another thing that was more odd was how Cara's death was handled. Really seems like something that could have been depicted or, at least, heavily implied on the page? Instead, we just get Rabbit mentioning it at the start of the issue. I don't know, I just felt that it, perhaps, should have been a bigger deal? In any case, I really enjoyed what we got here and I'm very much looking forward to the next issue.

The best issue of the series thus far. Camp has continuously proved to be incredibly proficient when it comes to theming, symbolism, and allegory, and he continues to maintain that skill here. Just great stuff on his front, which shouldn't really be surprising at this point. He's really making a strong case to be considered the best writer out there right now. Additionally, Morian continues to be a great fit for this book, and he put out some of his best work yet, in my opinion. Just a great way to close out the first arc and I'm very much looking forward to more. Also, very nice that Cara didn't actually randomly die off-page.

A super solid start to this. It's far from a perfect issue, but I feel a lot of potential for this to become something great. Really nice interiors from Sale here, and Loeb does a nice job balancing the differing tones here, between more classic Spidey and the more somber stuff we see through Peter's narration. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

This really feels like it should be better than it is. Don't get me wrong, this is really good, hence my rating. But it's just falling short of the "greatness territory' that I can't help but feel like it should be reaching. Sale's art continues to be fantastic, and Loeb continues to write everything very well. It's just missing something to get to that next level, for me. In any case, I'm still really enjoying this.

My favorite issue thus far. It just barely crosses the threshold of "greatness" that I mentioned in my review of the previous issue. The villain interactions have consistently been very enjoyable throughout this book, but I've always particularly liked Lizard, so, perhaps, that does some of the work in that regard. Although, the introduction of Mary Jane is really well-done here, as is the personal drama between Peter, MJ, Gwen, Harry, and the others. Speaking of Harry, that conversation between him and Peter on the last couple of pages was pretty good, as well. Really liked how Loeb handled that.

Super solid issue, though I wasn't particularly into the stuff with Vulture. It was fine for what it was, but this really shined when he wasn't being focused on. Especially in the first few pages, as we got one of the best quotes, if not the absolute best quote, of the series thus far with "I never, ever, thought I would be burying you before her, it’s just not the way life is supposed to work." Just hit me incredibly hard when I read it.

Really good penultimate issue here. This basically continues on with everything I've praised the book for in previous issues, so I don't really feel that there's a whole lot for me to say here. Loeb and Sale have proven to be a strong duo in the past, and this book remains no exception to that. Looking forward to seeing how this wraps up in the next issue.

This is what I've been hoping for this whole time...and, man, did it hurt. I read this and loved it, but it didn't quite get me to cry and I ended up landing on a 9.5/10 (Not that I only give a 10/10 to books I've cried to, but I think you get the point). I began to think that, perhaps, a re-read might do the trick. A few hours later, I re-read it and we got there. I'm solid in my 10/10 score and this did, in fact, get me to tear up. Particularly the last couple of pages, where we actually see Peter where he's been narrating the whole book, along with Mary Jane, whose words were really what sent me over the edge. Just beautiful stuff there, man. Loeb and Sale do it again.

Definitely an interesting first issue, to say the least. This definitely has the potential to get better, but it's a bit early to really tell where this is going. Although, I do trust the creative team of Hickman and Dragotta to deliver goodness. I will say that this, kind of, throws you into the world without explaining a whole lot, but I don't particularly mind that. I just wish that I would have gotten a little more to latch onto, though I do like the alternative history approach.

Honestly, even more interesting than the first issue. The Horsemen assassinating everyone who was next in line to be the President until getting to someone they deemed fitting was crazy, and I especially enjoyed the final few pages with Death and Andrew. Dragotta's art also looked great throughout this.

Was hoping for a little more after the reveal of Death's motivations at the end of the last issue, but this was still pretty good. Things are starting to come together a little bit, particularly the, respective, paths of Death's group and the Horsemen. Dragotta's art continues to be very nice, as well.

Easily the best issue so far. Loved the pages depicting the battle, as Dragotta did a fantastic job throughout. Additionally, I thought the dialogue between Andrew and the Horsemen was very well-written. I, especially, really enjoyed the final couple of pages. Just great stuff on all fronts here. Hopefully the series maintains this level of quality going forward.

Another great issue here. I think I preferred the previous one over this one, but I really enjoyed both of them. The introduction of Death and Xiaolian's son was super intriguing and I'm really looking forward to seeing the former hunt him down. Additionally, I'm liking the larger politics at play throughout this and I hope that side of things gets some stronger developments.

We take a break from the main characters we've been following here, but it's still great content. A super interesting backstory for Hulk here that I really enjoyed throughout. Very much looking forward to seeing him pop back up in the series again at some point. Also, Dragotta continues to put out really nice interiors here.

Another great issue here. This time, we get into Ezra's origins in The Message, as well as a nice glimpse into the past of the Four Horsemen. I will say that I think we need to start getting into more ongoing story, as opposed to jumping around in the way this issue and the previous issue did. It's nice to get stuff like this and I really enjoyed it, but I also want something that builds more off of what's already been established.

Really well-done, in my opinion. Dragotta's art continues to be good, though I thought Hickman's writing was the strongest aspect here. I think he did a really nice job of further establishing Antonia as a pure nationalist over the course of this issue, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her character in this book.

Not as good as the last few issues, but still pretty enjoyable. I will say that we're nearly ten issues in, and it still feels like a lot of setup is happening. Hopefully we can dive more into the meat & potatoes, so to speak, sooner rather than later. Not that we're getting any of that now, but I would just like a bit more.

Very cool issue here. Really liked a lot of what we got with Death here, and I'm glad we're getting more into the ongoing story here, rather than focusing so much on the setup and world-building, as much as I can love and appreciate those two things. Looking forward to the potential confrontation between Death and Hurk. Additionally, I'm very interested to see more of the former's son.

A lot of cool setup here, in my opinion. The representatives of the Endless Nation, especially, look very cool. Though, I'd like a bit more "actual" story from this book. There's been a lot of setup and establishing things, which I do very much appreciate. However, I'm gonna need more beyond that sooner rather than later.

Loved the intensity we got throughout this issue. Hickman is a writer that's fantastic at dialogue between characters, in my opinion. He consistently makes it something that's both intriguing and important. Nice to see that we're getting a stronger sense of furtherance of the story, as well. Looking forward to more.

A really fun issue here that turns up the action in this book quite a bit. I particularly enjoyed the pages with Death fighting Hurk, which were only made better by Dragotta's strong interiors. I'm hoping the series continues the pace it's currently on in terms of advancing the story, because I'm really liking it.

A great issue. The plot isn't moving super fast, but it's moving just enough for this to be a good slower-burn. Things finally seem to be actually happening, and I'm really enjoying it. Ezra seems to become the living embodiment, of sorts, of the Message, and I'm very intrigued to see what that means for his character going forward. Additionally, I loved the opening pages with Chamberlain. He's definitely one of the best-written characters in the book thus far.

Woah, alright. This is what I'm talking about right here. A fantastic way to end the arc. Easily the best issue of the whole series thus far. Everything comes together incredibly well here, and I'm more interested than ever in this book. Babylon instantly shoots his way up to the top of the list of the most intriguing characters in this world. Wow, man. What an ending to the issue, as well. Hoping Hickman & Dragotta keep this level of quality up going forward.

Definitely a strong start to Hickman's X-Men run after completely changing the mutant status quo with HoX/PoX. While I do agree with the belief that this was a bit crammed at times, I think a large majority of what we got here, if not everything we got here, was written very well. I especially liked how Cyclops was written throughout this issue and I think it was good to focus more on him in the first issue of the series. It also helps when you have Yu putting out fantastic art on just about every single page of this.

Issue 2 is another great one under Hickman and Yu. The latter's art is awesome as usual, and I really enjoyed how he drew The Summoner. The former gives us an entertaining, family-oriented story with Cyclops, Cable, and Prestige. I really enjoyed the dynamic the three of them had and the way Hickman wrote their interactions. Everything just felt really authentic. The ending with Apocalypse was really cool as well.

Although I would label this as the weakest issue of the series up until this point, there is a lot to like and a lot to be interested by here. Hordeculture is definitely an intriguing group that I wouldn't mind seeing more of. I did really enjoy Cyclops in this issue, and I think Hickman has done a great job with him in this series so far. Plus, Yu's art is once again fantastic.

What do I even say about this one? This is just a truly outstanding issue and definitively the best issue of the series yet. Of course, the politics of this is what stands out. Magneto basically telling everyone their plan to gain control over the rest of the world was amazingly done, as was the dialogue from Charles afterwards. Apocalypse had his moment as well, specifically when telling the politicians that is was him who ended the Bronze Age. Yes, the political aspects of this issue are what will really stick with me and what I will primarily remember this for, but you also have Cyclops and Gorgon countering the attempted attack against the trio in that room. The two of them were handled nicely as well as said trio and I think they only made the issue better. None of what I said mentions Yu doing another great job with his art throughout this issue. All things considered, this was a truly amazing read all around.

A great issue here that sets up an incredibly interesting story. I think the trio going into the vault is cool and I also think Cyclops continues to be handled really well under Hickman. I've just really been enjoying what he's done with him since the first issue. One other point I wanted to make was about the art. While I was really enjoying Leinil Francis Yu's art in the previous four issues, Silva does a nice job as well and I think what he gave us here fits well with the story.

One of this run's strongest issues right here. With one issue, Hickman instantly makes Mystique a character to root for going forward. He writes her so well here, as you can really feel the distress and heartbreak she feels within this story. This was more of a slower build, in my opinion, but it really paid off with this one. Hickman is just a fantastic writer and this is a prime example of that. He handles just about every character he writes so well, in my experience. Plus, Buffagni's art worked very nicely with this story.

Incredible issue here. Cyclops is, once again, written really well by Hickman throughout this. Plus, I'm always glad to see Nightcrawler. I think he was the perfect character for this story and I'm glad he got some time to shine in this one. I also can't forget the return of Yu's great art that only makes this better, especially during the well-written conversation and awesome fight between Apocalypse and Aero.

While this was a fun and entertaining issue, I would also have to say it was definitely the weakest of the series so far. It just didn't resonate with me like the previous seven issues have. Either way, I still liked what we got here with both Hickman's writing and Asrar's art.

I pretty much agree with what Psycamorean said in their review, in that this had a rather abrupt ending, but I still liked the story for what it was. These last two issues have been good, entertaining books, but not really up to the standard set by the rest of the series thus far. Hopefully it reaches those heights once again soon.

A nice Vulcan-focused issue here, although not one of this run's strongest. The best part of this, for me, is Yu's outstanding art. He's been doing great work on this title and I think this story allowed him to really play to his strengths. I particularly enjoyed his drawings of Vulcan, his fire, and the tree-looking aliens he was going against (forgive me if the species has an official name, I haven't seen it and I don't remember it being stated here).

Hickman handles Magneto fantastically here, and his writing of him is definitely what makes this issue so good. Yu's art is once again great, but Magnto was on a different level here and I loved just about every page he was on. The Empyre event definitely didn't weigh this issue or the previous one down and I'm very glad about that.

Hickman does a great job at writing interesting stories and Yu does a great job at drawing characters. What's new? In all seriousness, this is great. Yes, it's very much an information dump as we head into the large-scale X of Swords crossover, but it's written well enough to be worth the read. The Summoner has been a super mysterious and intriguing character since his first appearance and I'm really glad we got to see a bit of his origin. X of Swords is looking good already with this prelude.

A fairly well-written issue that gives us some very interesting backstory for Apocalypse, especially considering the current storyline. I think this did an effective job of making Apocalypse a more compelling and/or intriguing characters as we approach the midway point for X of Swords. Asrar does a great job of drawing him as well.

Another issue for this series with a lot of focus on Apocalypse and I enjoyed it. Yes, a bit of it is a re-telling of story we've already read, even with some recycled art from Asrar, but it's good content nonetheless. I think having Genesis's perspective added a new emotional layer to X of Swords that wasn't present before and I'm glad Hickman decided to go in this direction. Also, I just wanted to point out that the way Yu draws Apocalypse is absolutely fantastic.

This was the best issue for X of Swords yet. Hickman writes Cyclops fantastically here and, in doing so, effectively gets you behind him. I also enjoyed the battle between Apocalypse and Genesis. Asrar's art was a nice cherry on top as well. Great stuff all around in this book.

A super interesting follow-up to X of Swords. Yes, this is a lot of talking, but that's something Hickman is no stranger to making engaging. The, sort of, tension between Krakoa and Arakko is intriguing and definitely something that can be built upon. Isca was super cool in this issue and I really enjoyed her interaction with Charles and Erik. Plus, Noto's art made all of this look great.

This was kind of a weird one. I didn't dislike it, but this reads more like an issue of X-Men from the 90's than an issue of Hickman, Krakoan X-Men. That 90's feel is primarily attributed to Booth's art, but Hickman writes it that way as well. Like I said, I don't not like that about this, but I much prefer everything Hickman has done on this title previously as opposed to this. This did have some cool moments, though.

A pretty solid start here. Asrar does a nice job drawing everything, and Hickman does a good enough job with the story. I didn't really dislike anything about this, but I just wish this had a little more for me to latch on to. Either way, it was good. It was just a bit quick for me.

What a crazy ending. Hickman made Synch an incredibly compelling character just like that. This was a great tale about love and survival that did nothing but improve upon the groundwork laid in the previous issue. Asrar's art only made this better, as well. This was just really, really good.

Another great issue as we approach the last issue of the series. Mystique has been an incredibly compelling character since House of X & Powers of X, and this only strengthened that. The coldness from Charles and Erik was done so damn well. Mobili also drew everything very nicely throughout.

A solid issue here. It doesn't read like the final issue of a series, but it's not exactly meant to be that. It's more so meant to be a gateway to a new phase of X-Men stories. Either way, I particularly enjoyed Scott's response to Kevin Feige (which was kind of a weird cameo, at least to me). Hickman always writes Scott so incredibly well, and that reigns true here.

Definitely an intriguing start here. This is a lot of Alfred, which is certainly a choice initially. However, I think that it worked nicely as a way to introduce Bruce and give his origins. Furthermore, I think we got to see a solid amount of Bruce as himself and as Batman here, so I can't complain too much. I feel as though Snyder is building an interesting world here and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where things go. Dragotta's art was good as well, although I do think that it worked best when he drew the larger characters such as Black Mask and Batman, himself.

Still enjoying this, but this was also a bit of a slower issue. A slower pace isn't automatically bad or anything, but you have to make it work. Furthermore, I didn't find Dragotta's art to be as good as it was in the first issue. Nonetheless, there's a good amount of interesting things going on, so, hopefully, the next issue sees things pick up a little bit.

A well-written issue here, in my opinion. If you're going to have, relatively, a lot of dialogue in an issue, it needs to be done well. I don't know that this had "a lot" of dialogue, but I think it feels that way with how certain pages had a lot of smaller panels. Either way, I think Snyder did a nice job here. Dragotta did a solid job on the art, as well, although I don't think he's gotten to the same level of quality with his art as he did with the first issue, unfortunately.

I really liked the story here. It was probably my favorite yet. However, I just can't get past the art. It worked better in the slower sections where there was mainly dialogue, but, it was just not great when it came to anything action-related or anything with a faster pace. I'm not even fully sure I want to score this as high as I am because of Walta's art, but Snyder's origin story here was just really, really good.

Still pretty interesting as we near the end of the first arc. I'm assuming that was Barbara Gordon that briefly encountered Bruce as he was going under the city, so I'm interested to see how Snyder & Dragotta follow up on that. Otherwise, just good stuff. This is still my least favorite of the current trio of Absolute books, but that's really saying something about the other two when I'm scoring this as high as I am.

The best issue of the series so far. Some nice art from Dragotta here, the story from Snyder had a great balance, in terms of its pacing, and some really cool moments coming from both the action-centric sections and the more character-focused sections of the book. I'm really looking forward to whatever comes next.

My least favorite issue so far, but still a good one nonetheless. Martín does a better fill-in job here than Gabriel Walta did back in Issue #4, which was nice. I'm really looking forward to more of this version of Mr. Freeze. Furthermore, hopefully we get Man-Bat, Poison Ivy, and Hugo Strange in the near future after they were referenced here.

A good ending to this two-part arc. Martín continues to do a really nice job with his interiors here, in my opinion. They really fit the tone set by Snyder's story. Speaking of which, the story was solid as well. Hoping to see Mr. Freeze pop up again in the future, possibly with Dragotta getting to draw him on the inside of the book this time.

A really good issue, in my opinion. Dragotta's interiors really clicked here, for me, especially with how he drew Bane throughout. Looking forward to more purely based off of that. However, I feel this was a stronger start to an arc than the initial #1, which is good. I already really enjoy this take on Bane and I'm hoping the momentum of this book continues.

The best issue of the series yet, in my opinion. Really intrigued by everything going on at Ark M, and I'm looking forward to learning more about all of that. Furthermore, I really enjoyed how Snyder tied Bruce & Waylon's past to what was currently going on in the story. Speaking of Waylon, I do think the teeth on the Killer Croc design are a little much, but I appreciate what they're going for. Maybe I'll like it more as time goes on.

First thing's first, I liked this overall. You can see that by my rating. However, I have to say that this spent quite a bit of time on a hypothetical. It's a very interesting hypothetical...but, around half the issue goes into it, and I don't know that I needed it to be that long. In any case, it's still really cool to see Bane's vision for Bruce. Mann's art throughout is certainly interesting, to say the least. I liked it in some places, but it wasn't my favorite in others. Overall, I liked this as a whole, but it was definitely the weakest installment of this current arc so far.

Great stuff. Spoilers incoming, by the way. Bane, essentially, creating Penguin, Two-Face, and Riddler was actually insane. Really looking forward to seeing more of the three of them in the future. Shifting to the present, it's nice to, finally, see Selina show up after really only appearing in flashbacks thus far. As usual, I'm very intrigued to see what comes next from this book.

A lot of really good developments here, primarily building to Bruce's "final(?)" confrontation with Bane in the next issue. Really looking forward to seeing how that plays out, particularly with how crazy a lot of the rest of the book has been. Snyder & Dragotta have stepped it up with this arc so far and I hope not just that the next issue ends the arc strongly, but also that they can keep up this level of quality as the series continues past that.

Holy peak, Batman. Let me get this out of the way really quickly. Harren and McClaren both did really good jobs here and I liked what they gave us here. That said, Johnson knocked it out of the park with the main story. That story, on its own, gets a 10/10 for me. Warren and McClaren's stories were just gravy. Batman hitting a One Winged Angel was just insane and I loved it so much. The story as a whole, was fantastic, with us seeing a little more of Bruce's origins as Batman. The art, of course, simply rocked throughout. Johnson is, truly, masterful.

Fantastic conclusion to this arc. I have some minor gripes, but they’re very minor. Largely, this ruled. Very anime-esque in terms of the action and power levels within it, which is something I particularly enjoyed about it. Very glad that Bane wasn’t completely killed here, though, and I’d really love to see how things play out if (hopefully “when”) he returns, especially with how this issue ended.

Not quite as great as the previous issue, but still a super interesting read nonetheless. Genuinely very intrigued in this version of Joker and I’m really looking forward to more of him, especially with him returning to Gotham by the end of this. Just incredibly twisted, but not in a way that feels too wacky, if that makes sense. In any case, yeah, I really enjoyed this one. Super cool to see Jock do the interiors here, as well.

Great one-shot here that gives some further context to Joker and Ark M/Arkham, along with teasing some stuff to come in the main title. I do wonder how much of this was written by Snyder and how much was written by Tieri, who isn't someone I particularly "expected" to be involved here. In any case, I think Hixson was a really nice fit for this book, particularly with the setting and overall tone. All in all, strong stuff here.

A fun crossover story here. Nothing insanely great, but still really good. Very cool that this establishes that Diana is taller than Bruce, who’s already, like, really tall. Dragotta did a pretty nice job throughout this, in my opinion, and I especially liked the quieter moments Snyder added in here, like with his dad and the ending with Waylon, for example.

I liked this a really good amount, but I do feel as though it’s the weakest issue since the first half of the Absolute Zero arc (which was also pretty good). I’m not really complaining about the quality of the book itself, because, as seen by my rating, I quite liked it. However, I feel that the Abomination arc really took this title to the next level and, now, I’m back to feeling similarly to how I felt in the before said arc. Very far from a bad, or even average, book, but one that I’m more “really liking” rather than “loving.” Hopefully that changes back to the latter as the series continues, but, even if it doesn’t, I’m still liking this book a lot, as I previously said. This version of Poison Ivy is super interesting and I’m looking forward to the next issue. I will say that this felt like it had a lot being packed into it, though. Court of Owls feels like it’s coming slightly out of nowhere, but I’m definitely willing to let Snyder cook.

Glad to say I liked this a little more than the last issue. It's still not back up to the level of being "great" in my opinion, but it's still really good stuff. I didn't mention it in my review of the previous issue, but I think Canete did a pretty solid job filling in on the interiors here. Him being a guest artist definitely makes sense, and I think he proved to be a good choice. Anyways, yeah, this was good. Definitely a bit of a turning point for Bruce, and I'm very interested to see where this takes him, and the story as a whole, moving forward. I do think this still has the "problem" of having a lot of things going on in one issue, but I felt that it was handled better this time around.

Yay, a great issue. A lot of stuff is going on, but it's all super interesting. Scarecrow is one of my favorite Batman villains in Earth-0, so I was very much looking forward to seeing what Snyder & Dragotta would do with him here in Earth-Alpha. While we only get him for a few pages here, I'm already hooked and need more. I do worry that there are too many villains being introduced in such a short amount of time, but I'm trusting that things will all come together in the long run. In any case, very much looking forward to seeing more of the Robins in the next issue, as any one of them showing up in this book has been a topic of discussion for quite some time, let alone all five of them at once.

I'm now realizing that I forgot to mention this whole thing in my review of the previous issue, so I'll bring it up here. The notion that Bruce becoming Batman being something that was manufactured unbeknownst to him is an idea that I think could be really good if the execution is right, so I'm really interested to see if we get more on that in the future. Aside from that, though, this was good. Not as good as the previous issue, but still good. Still liking Scarecrow here, and I think the writing for Bruce has been consistently strong. Honestly, one of the best parts of the entire series. Though, there were certain spots that I feel could have been improved. For instance, it felt like the conversation between Waylon and Eddie was primarily there to tease Harvey as Two-Face and Ozzie as Penguin. In any case, I liked this quite a bit and I'm hoping we can actually get a decent amount of content with the Robins in the next issue, as this cover made it seem as though they'd be prominent in this issue when, in reality, they really only showed up on the last few pages.

Really good. I feel like a lot of this book is on the cusp of greatness, but just falling slightly short of achieving that. Abomination was the main realization of said level, really. There's a lot that I really enjoy here. I especially liked Jim's funeral and Barbara's interaction with the Robins there, as well as the first meeting between Bruce Wayne and Jack Grimm. The latter of those was rather short, but I also don't think it necessarily needed to be some long, drawn-out thing. As a matter of fact, it's probably better that it wasn't, as they're likely to have longer interactions in the future. In any case, those were both strong highlights of the issue. That said, the opening fight between Batman and the Robins was cool and enjoyable, but also one I found to be a bit underwhelming. Additionally, I did like the conversation between Waylon, Eddie, Harvey, and Ozzie (just now realizing that 3/4 of them have an "e" sound at the end of their (nick)name, by the way), but there were certain spots I feel could have been written better. I appreciated them getting their villain names, though I think there could have been more organic way to bring those up, whether in this issue or in the future. All of that said, I'm still really enjoying this for what it is, and I'm definitely looking forward to what's next.

Actually a great issue here. My general feelings on this book overall are something I've stated multiple times over. To me, this is a book that has been great at times, but it's more consistently been really good, rather than great. However, I really enjoyed this. Harley continuously trying to tell Bruce about her past and upbringing and whatnot did feel a bit longwinded, but I still found this to be very well-done. Dell'Edera proved to be a really good choice for a fill-in here, in my opinion. Would love to see him pop up again in the future. However, the main thing to talk about here is the story, particularly the connections made to the larger plot from Harley's past. Spoiler warning, but I think Jack being Harley's father in this universe is a pretty interesting twist on things, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing how that, potentially, becomes a bigger aspect of the the story in the future. Really hoping this book can maintain this level of quality.

It's hard for me to explain why...but, I really enjoyed this. Yes, definitely wordy. However, still really enjoyable. I think Prince did a nice job of capturing Boston's personality and I'm looking forward to more of that. Additionally, I really enjoyed the spirit-inhabited town, as I felt that it was a super interesting concept with potential for further exploration in the future. The antagonist we get here is intriguing, as well. I think I need to see a little more of him before fully forming a solid opinion on him, but I liked what we got here. Overall, I really enjoyed what we got. Room for improvement, for sure, but I still liked this a lot nonetheless. So glad we have a good Deadman book right now, especially considering that it's been almost a decade since the last solo series for him.

Not as strong as the first issue, but still really good. This has done a good job of balancing its tone, in my opinion, with the mystery, the humor, the action, etc.. I think that Prince has done a good job handling Boston's character as a whole, as well. Morazzo is a good fit for the story being told, also, and I'm just really liking the work they're both doing. Looking forward to Deadman going to the underworld in the next issue, as well as learning more about the antagonist, whose name I don't think has been stated yet? Oh yeah, and I also appreciated the inclusion of Batman's "gadget description box" that we've seen in his mainline series by Matt Fraction & Jorge Jiménez.

Not reading Devil's Reign currently (yet), but this was a super solid one-shot. Really nice art from Leon alongside an intriguing story from Lanzing & Kelly. This was especially cool as a prelude to what they have coming in their Captain America book. Really looking forward to seeing what they do there.

I wasn't sure if I was gonna pick this one up or not since I wasn't reading Devil's Reign at the time, but I saw it was written by MacKay so I decided to give it a shot. After reading, I definitely made the right choice. This fits right in with the current Moon Knight series, and could have totally been an issue of it. However, I think a smart move was made by making this a one-shot and letting Hunter's Moon take center stage in Moon Knight #8. While the art is a little bit lacking at times for me, it's still pretty good. Marc continues to be an absolute badass, and I love how MacKay explained how Marc got into prison in the first place. This issue was just so damn good.

It's a big of a longer read for a single issue, but definitely worth it for only being $4.99. I did really enjoy this, as I'm very interested to see what the rest of the book has to offer. Some nice world-building here, without it really taking away from the story. Though, I think the story-related stuff I liked the most here was a lot of the themes, specifically of one's purpose, so I'm definitely interested to see things like that explored further in future issues. MacDonald does a very nice job on the interiors, as well, as he really helps to bring everything to life throughout this. All in all, very much looking forward to more of this.

Super interesting book, even if I didn’t end up enjoying this as much as #1. I feel like that first issue did a lot to build the world a bit while also leaving a lot of room for further exploration, which does make sense considering it was double the length of this. Though, this was still a bit slower in terms of story progression. I still really enjoyed it, but I hope we can get more into the meat and potatoes of this book in the next issue.

Really loved this start. You can tell that Slott is having fun writing this strange premise, and it's only to the book's benefit. This, genuinely, got multiple audible laughs out of me, which is something I don't typically find with a lot of comics. The premise of Otto's consciousness/personality overtaking Peter's body is already an intriguing idea, but it's the execution that seals the deal in just this first issue that, practically, seals the deal for me. It's super interesting to see Spider-Man act the way that he does here, especially considering the fact that he's the only one who knows he's not, really, Peter Parker anymore. Very much looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Not as good as the first issue, but still pretty enjoyable. Peter's presence here is something I found myself both enjoying and being slightly annoyed by. I appreciated having his perspective on what's going on, and I think, most of the time, he added to the story in a good way. However, the way Slott wrote him in certain spots just bugged me. Not in an "out-of-character" way, but in a "why is he talking like that" way, if that makes sense. In any case, I thought the story was largely pretty good still, and Stegman is two-for-two on well-drawn issues.
