This might be the first misstep in Greg Pak's run, but it's not entirely his fault. I never realized how important Aaron Kuder's art was to my enjoyment of this book until this issue in which he shared penciling duties. The other art wasn't bad, just jarring when I got to those pages. The Doomsday part of the book was good. The other part felt like filler, though.

This was a fantastic issue. Peter David's characterization was spot on. Danger, the character, was written with stone-faced humor that pulled the story in the right direction without ever being silly. We are quickly learning who these people are and learning to care about them in the context of a team. My only small complaint was the art during the final scene. It was difficult to tell what was the Magus and what was Warlock. To be fair to Di Giandomenico, they are supposed to look similar, but there were a few indecipherable panels. Otherwise, great issue!

I've enjoyed this volume of All-New X-Factor until this issue. The good? I still find Danger interesting and funny. The art is good, despite the bug eyes of their costumes. The bad? Most of the rest. The worst part of the issue was the insufferable dialogue of The Magus. The fact that the team just leaves him there was just not realistic. There's a big building and they "couldn't make a dent in it". Really? Doug didn't know he had a piece of Warlock, but then the next moment can read the flow and locate him. Really? I'm not even a Gambit fan, but I find it irritating that he is a non-factor in this book. He could be anyone at this point and make the same impact.
I wasn't sure about this book when it started, and it grew on me. With one issue that goodwill ran out the door.

How Grant deals with knowing who the saboteur is will be interesting in the future. The art fits the book well, but I still have a problem with Scalera making it difficult to be able to distinguish who is who. Overall great issue.

I like Maleev, but this issue was tough. Sometimes I didn't know who/what I was looking at. The dialogue was pretty bad. It also felt like Bendis didn't realize he had only one issue left, so he flew through content that should have been three issues.

So was the return of Green Lantern. The cliffhanger ending leaves us wanting so much more, in a great way. Nicola Scott proves exceptional as always.

I'm a Sterling Gates fan, but this issue was pretty low quality. Worst of all, it was a 6 issue mini-series that had no ending whatsoever. It just ended saying it would continue in Forever Evil and Justice League. The dialogue was terrible (supposed to be funny?). I've defended this series, but issue 6 was indefensible. I'm pretty disappointed. I hope good things are ahead for the character of Steve Trevor, but this series didn't help his development.

Soule is one of the best writers around and was asked to right this ship before it got off the ground. He did that with moderate success. The story is compelling enough at times, especially the "different tribes/dueling kingdoms" aspect that comes with Lash. That said, I was extremely disappointed to read that Dante had such a predictable powerset (and it's pretty bad that his name also happens to be Dante). I was hoping for the Inhumans to be unique--previous Inhumans sure were. Overall I'm hopeful for the series, and I'll stick around a few issues to see where it goes.

I did leave with a couple of questions: 1) Cyborg said Atomica infiltrated the JL, but wasn't it the JLA? 2) Dr. Magnus makes a big deal how the Metal Men can die, but he's saying it while bringing them back to life. So what's the difference?

This series is still a strange mixture of new ideas, stale plot, and intriguing possibilities. The plot didn't move much this issue. We still have the Wonder Twins fighting about what they've done. We still have the Justice League fighting The Five (Those are The Five we keeping gearing about, right?). Firestorm is brought in this issue. I'm not sure what to think. He's angry and violent because of his two person matrix, but that's how all of the JL were, so not sure how that's different. At least we see some character development with Clark getting more approachable and Bruce being more analytical.

Supergirl is no longer a Red Lantern, but she is in her book and Red Lanterns. Lemire tried to squeeze a lot in. The art is ok, but just ok. I was excited to see Hawkman taking on Lobo at the end.

I wanted to like a Claremont Nightcrawler book, but it was just ok. The art was decent, except that the females tend to look juvenile. The villain is Trimega. Seriously. Any 12 year old could have brought a similar villain in. Nightcrawler just returned from the dead, yet his interactions with Logan and Amanda lack depth and believability. An example is Amanda saying she hates it when he teleports her. HE JUST CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD! Not enough in the first issue to bring me back next month.

I thought I was buying a continuation of what happened at the Gala, and while in all technicality it is, I had no idea I was buying a fantasy world that is so poorly written. It would have been a 1, but the art was ok. The characters were predictable caricatures of themselves. Typhoid Mary, in particular, read like fan fiction.

There was also quite a bit of text this issue (dialogue and boxes), which isn't the norm. All in all, great book, though.

What a difference a fresh perspective can make. Aaron Kuder come on board and changes the direction of the series. The plot revolves around Superboy seeing different versions of himself come to track him down to hold him accountable. This dynamic adds interesting wrinkles to the story. Now we want to know if the other Superboys are real, if Jon has it in himself to change, and what the end result will be. Jorge Jimenez does a good job with the art, but it does get slightly Manga-ish at times.

What I liked: The story continues to impress. Instead of a predictable issue 2 of following each character to see more of their reactions to the letters, we get a pleasant narrowing of the narrative. The story takes some interesting twists and turns leaving the reader intrigued, but also unsure of which direction the book will go. Personally, I can't wait for number 3.
Challenges: I like the art style. It's fairly unique and interesting in it's detail. Sometimes, though, it's tough to tell what's happening visually. Not always, but it is a problem in a few panels.

On the one hand, each issue I love the concepts. On the other hand, keeping track of who is who, what gender they are, and what their sexuality is keeps me from fully understanding what I'm reading. I think the art makes it confusing along with so many of them seemingly LGBTQ+. It's a lot to keep track of and I'm not doing that great. (That is not meant to imply in any way that the LGBTQ+ concepts shouldn't be part of this, but simply that I get lost.)

Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic continue to create great Thor stories. This issue continues future Thor's battle with Galactus. The cool part of that is seeing Thor hold his own against Galactus. Present day Thor is still battling Roxxon, but they've bought Thor's favorite town of Broxton, OK and are now suing Thor. The book reads very well and the art shows Thor's expressions exactly like they should be. Great issue.

I really dislike that Sue is not only whiney, but seems to only be able to create shields--none if the other things the "regular" Sue has done over the years. I also hated the look of Falcon. The character introduced at the end may end up interesting in the future.

It took me out of the story and all I could think was Hickman is out of touch. But in the end, it was really good. I don't like the big think near the end, but I understand how it adds tension.

I dropped this book after #2, but picked up #3 during a random visit to my LCS. I wish I hadn't. Marrow has insufferably terrible dialogue that isn't true to any way she's spoken in the past. MeMe--is this a joke character? It's a terrible book and I really wish the other two X-Force books still existed.

The Kraven part has potential, but Deadpool, especially in his most silly form, is not for me. Why do they dress Sage like 90s Jubilee?
This book will make some happy, but unfortunately, it was a large miss for me.
(Also, why is AXE on the cover, but there doesn't seem to be a connection?)

I literally put the last arc on my 2022 best of list. Then all of a sudden this issue comes out and it's comic booky in the worst way. Can I say how much I hate reading the name Wolverine and in the same book, it could mean three people? And that's not even my issue. The book went from intense and interesting to silly. I hope it's a one off problem, or I'd quit reading.

The "humor" just isn't funny...like the recent movies, it is trying too hard. Magik fighting with Juggernaut makes sense. The two of them fighting like 8 year olds doesn't. Scott, who is a master tactician, won't even listen to his dad when his dad is like "wait, this part is important". Not believable. But the bones of the plot itself are good, which keeps me reading.

This book is very strong. It's take is different because we see a fictionally culture of misplaced people that seems do believable. That was evident in this issue. Aric shows leadership in the way he brings his people home and implores them that it's the right decision. Then he meets up with Gilad, the Eternal Warrior, and there is believable interplay between old friends. The first half of the issue had pretty interesting art, but it seemed to fall off as soon as Gilad showed up.
